Amazing video! I think you definitely captured the essence and instability of Bulgaria in the interwar years very well. I like that you addressed the myopia of the political establishment and how ironically, Bulgaria would turn into a smaller version of the Ottoman Empire with so many territories and minorities being incorporated. However, I do have a couple small gripes. First, you are describing a very high level of political instability not even seen in our own timeline when the country lost the war and was economically crippled. I simply believe it is a bit far-fetched to see so much instability after a WWI victory. Obviously, this is a work of fiction so it is not that important and even if improbable it is not impossible. The second bigger gripe I have is that you assume there were few Bulgarians in the acquired lands. In census data from the interwar period most of Macedonia considered themselves ethnically Bulgarian. In Dobrudja, the Southern part had been part of the Bulgarian metropole for decades and was majority Bulgarians. So it would be a stretch to say the central authority wouldn’t be exerted in those areas. As much as this is alt history fiction, some data cannot really be ignored for the sake of the scenario and destabilization. That being said, I do agree that majority of the Serbian, Greek, and Northern Dobrudjean lands would have majority non-Bulgarians and would naturally oppose the regime unless there were major population transfers or expulsions of said minorities to their respective countries (not unlikely considering very real refugee crises occurred in the Balkans after WWI). Though here I must commend your spin on the IMRO and how it would become a paramilitary/militia organization. That is extremely likely considering how there were state-sponsored militias to keep law and order in the Bulgarian metropole in our own timeline. Overall, absolutely amazing video like always and thank you for covering this often-forgotten country in WWI. At the end of the day, this is alt-history fiction so you are free to imagine how Bulgaria and the Balkans would develop and I am here for the ride. This isn’t a critique as much as refinement of an extremely in-depth scenario and a sophisticated understanding of history. Looking forward to what you produce next!
Definitely some valid points! Some of these areas were wrapped into IMRO control mostly because we needed to cut for time and keep the main story on track. A more expansive video would probably dive even deeper 😀
it will definitely be a long one though- it has to go over the rise of Long and Reed, and the meddling that Germany and The Third Internationale had on politics, before and after the first world war

The parliament infographic animation was something day invented for the Austria-Hungary episode, it's a great way to show a country's internal issues 😀
I know this is a major whiplash, but wouldn't it be absolutely hilarious if after that last scene, the door came down, and the narrator is expecting some radical lunatics coming in to kill him, inly for it actually to be a bunch of fellow democrats, and they go, "Bro, what are you doing down here? Macedonia will be target for sure in the next campaign, but what I imagine is that Bulgaria will miss the WW1 and join Greece in the upcoming greeko-turkish war. The target will be Constantinople. Yep that will postpone the Macedonian question, but since Serbia will be weak after the WW1 VMRO may cause issues and with Bulgarian support may form the new Macedonia country with the same manner as Kosovo split from Serbia. Anyhow I believe in that timeline there will be more political stability and balance for Bulgaria. Maybe they will attempt to rejoin Macedonia before WW2 and that to be the catalizator for WW2...its just my theory, who knows :)
