Not really the sultans of the Ottoman Empire can claim the title by rights of conquest But the titular heir would be the kings of Spain since Andres Paleologos, successor of the last emperor Paleologos IX, gave the title to the Catholic kings of Castile and Aragon.
@@Dante_-cg3fqSultan Mehmed II is also a descendent of the Byzantine Royalty. Only reason you guys deny it is because Turks aren’t Christians which is stupid; Rome started as a Pagan republic after all.
@@Dr-Ekmek It’s why they also tried getting Ottomans to become a Christian state. Pope Pius II tried to convince Mehmed to become a Christian. He failed, obviously.
@@Dante_-cg3fq I would argue that the Ottoman claim of the title by rights of conquest is more legitimate than the inherited claim of the descendants of Ferdinand II and Isabelle I when Andres had already abdicated and sold the Imperial titles to the House of Valois. The Ottoman Empire was the only state in the CP to have a frontline and a functional standing army (the German army by 1918 had essentially collapsed). The Ottomans were indeed the best state after the Germans in the CP as they had caused many defeats to the British - causing the British to send more forces to the ME, meaning Germany had to fight less men. The Ottoman army was indeed a competent force that was in some scenarios was hindered by German advisors.

In the case of #3, Colonialism rarely bore profits. Only if you are wide enough that colonialist powers could turn a profit but its well-known that colonies are nothing but an expensive toy to keep around if you dont have enough. Spain, in her dying years, barely cared about her colonies in Cuba and the Philippines solely because, it wouldve made better sense to sell them rather than try to keep them. The original thirteen colonies were expensive to Britain, especially to protect hence why they wanted to tax them in the first place. The USA's independence had a rather positive impact to the overall British economy. Japan's colonial experiment to Siberia during the Russian Civil War resulted similarly with the state paying more than what they could ever profit from the colony so was eager to retreat from it, the moment a justifiable reason presented itself. French Indochina was famously a money sink for the economically devasted postwar France. Britain's entire reason for decolonialization was because colonies were expensive to maintain and Britain had exhausted all her capital. The Ottoman Empire was a colonialist state through and through and while it did not necessarily profit from its empire, the resources of its colonies only benefitted Istanbul.
The Empire needs a Murad IV persona here. The last of his line to led a military campaign and won in Baghdad and Yerevan. Died so young.. because you know, the endless court conspiracies, malfunctioning economy, and helplessly incapable officials. His life is a testament both to everything fearsome and grand in the Ottoman realm and to the inevitability of the empire’s fall. Modern Turkey has immense potential. Funny enough, its sole problem (that no one is talking about) is being a successor to a Balkan-first empire that does not exist anymore in the Balkans. The first century of the republic had passed as we tried to figure out what to make of Asia Minor, a vast open terrain that honestly no one cared about for a millennium..

Broken into three nations with a Syndicalist Bharatiya Commune on the east, Loyalist Dominion of India to the west, and an independent Princely Federation to the South. Basically when the 1925 revolution tore through the UK, the various groups in South Asia all began to move with the Bharatiya Commune being first, declaring independence in Calcutta. Seeing weakness, the various princes consolidated power in the south, with the Viceroy of India and his forces retreating west to the more loyal princes of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Ottoman Empire lasted centuries until 1914. Even in its grand and twilight years, the Ottoman Empire was still powerful, even though it's a shadow of its territorial height in the 1600s, though, during WW1, it collapsed, yet, in this universe, the Ottoman Empire survived, god forsaken, the Ottomans would still be weak, a former power that would be a shell of its former self, and its territorial height in the 1600s, though the sick man of europe had fought the entente hard, like a man fighting a deadly disease for a long while

Britain's entire reason for decolonialization was because colonies were expensive to maintain and Britain had exhausted all her capital.
The Ottoman Empire was a colonialist state through and through and while it did not necessarily profit from its empire, the resources of its colonies only benefitted Istanbul.
*when you realise there’s a channel dedicated to kaiserreich*
IV. Murad died because of illness. However he really did great during his short time of ruling.
This is the only documentary that gave me goosebumps because it feels so real
Wonderful! I love this series! I can't wait to know the topic of next episode! This Channel Is awesome !
Thanks for making this and I am the place where I live (najd and hasa) is here !
Glory to the sublime porte!

Thank you KaiserCat Cinema bringing such beautiful works!! I am a fan of these documentaries and our team is translating this video into Chinese, so are we allowed to publish the Chiese-subtitled version on Bilibili, a video platform in mainland China? We make these for fun, not for profit and we will credit author and encourage audience to support you here
it's cool to ask but as long as you fully credit and link places to support the original I doubt anyone would have a problem
Damn, really wanted to learn more about the Assyrians in this episode. Was really hoping to hear about how they formed, their revolt, and what is the canon ending for their nation.
The speech at the end by the spy is actually so peak
I like how the epic speech is the most replayed part of the video
AYYYEEE 100K CONGRATS
Right now i see 100k subs great job! :D
Ah yes, obscure lore about alternate timelines about our own history.
I love learning about it
SO COOL!!! How many parts will this series go on? Still a few continents left to get this all-star treatment.
Quite a few episodes I think, considering we cut a ton of lore to keep this episode succinct and it still ended up being 90min 🤣
Thank you, you're a genious team
Damn...the Ottomans suffered so much (not as much as the Armenians, but still) and yet...they still keep going.
May the empire survive, stronger and better than before!!
In balkan wars we lost 60k soldiers with 200k turkish civillian casulties , while ww1 we lost 450k soldiers and 1 million civillian casulties how can turks not suffer ? All the media you see is backing by christians see the reality in 1890 turks in ottomans re 14 million in 1930 its still 14 million. How can this possible with out genocides done to turks.
@@efeaydinli25Really?
My guy your dudes couldn't make up harmless lies about why they lost to Russians in Caucasus so they decided to ethnically cleanse Armenians.
Do you know how many Russians died?
French and British casualties were not small either.
Turks were ethnically cleansed from most of the Balkans.
Maybe if Ottoman Empire did not start putting only turks in positions of power the Balkan people would not be so hungry for revenge.
@@danubeisreallypeculiarrive7944 yea dude war start when 1915 and ottomans lost in 1916-17 and they killed 1 million armenians in 1915 for fun??
@@danubeisreallypeculiarrive7944 everyone killed another no one is a good or bad guy but i have to say these numbers are made up by british propaganda agency from 1916 which they said same things about other axis powers and they also said german soap factory

Sorry one correction the British army has not been referred to as the “Royal Army” since 1660 as a result of the English Civil War and the victory of the Parliamentarian new army over the king. So there is a Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Royal Tank Corps but no “Royal” army just the British Army
The best episode so far! How many more can we expect, and also are there any news on the development of the Art Book? I don't know if it is ready, but I can't find it anywhere :p
Mustafa kemal Atatürk was pretty much the Josip Broz Tito of this alt history timeline and it was soo interesting to see. How you guys come up with such detailed fictional timeline is soo impressive
And much like Tito, the moment Ataturk dies, all hell will break loose, and the Empire will fall apart on itself.
@@occam7382Well still it most likely can't be worse than the Ottoman collapse of our own timeline given that it's very unlikely that any of these new enemies of the Sublime Porte can force them into complete surrender like the British had done.
@@simulacrumpilot2777, maybe not any one of them, but most or even all of these powers going up against the Ottomans at once? Yeah, they're screwed in that case.
@@occam7382 Not really given that none of those states has the overwhelming tactical, technological and industrial superiority the British Empire had over Ottomans. They most likely can push the Ottomans quite a bit but I can't see any way of them causing their complete collapse even if Greece, Georgia, Iran, Egypt, all of Arabia(which is very unlikely) declares war at once. Ottomans can just retreat to a more defensible terrain and initiate a stalemate.
@@simulacrumpilot2777, that's assuming the Ottomans are in a stable political and economic position. Which, given that this war takes place after the start of the Great Depression like likely after the death of Kemal, I find unlikely.
53:46 at first I was genuinely confused why the British Empire was being led by Tsar Nicholas II before I remembered he and George V were doppelgängers

Syndicalism is waving.
My question is, what’s next? When will we get the next part of the kaisereich timeline? I guess it would be for the next few years from 1936 till the start of the 2nd WW
I have a conspiracy about ottomans tho , russians said ottoman will colapse in 1900 but russia collapsed after that french said ottoman will collapse and french was collapsed in 1918 and the while british collapsed i believe west fall to syndicalism but ottoman still gona live. Its not an feeling but just look what happened in these universe every time ottomans found a way to live sad but funny
They have stated they will not be going past 1936, as past that point there is no cannon. They will be doing a smaller documentary on Bulgaria next
@@efeaydinli25 If anything I am more fearing can they keep the Middle East in order in this timeline.
The Middle East already a nightmare till today is enough.
Sometimes I felt the Middle East is a lost cause of peace.
@@scotto2291awwww that sucks
@@scotto2291, really? They're not going to use their last episode to focus on the United States? They already gave Bulgaria its own segment here, why waste another episode on that when we haven't even properly gotten to Asia? Let alone Africa or the Americas?
Very entertaining. 👍👍👍
I almost forgot Louise LaCroix, but it seems she didn't forget.

What has become of South Asia in the Kaiserreich timeline?
Broken into three nations with a Syndicalist Bharatiya Commune on the east, Loyalist Dominion of India to the west, and an independent Princely Federation to the South. Basically when the 1925 revolution tore through the UK, the various groups in South Asia all began to move with the Bharatiya Commune being first, declaring independence in Calcutta. Seeing weakness, the various princes consolidated power in the south, with the Viceroy of India and his forces retreating west to the more loyal princes of Jammu and Kashmir.
This was my dream project
For the Empire! For the Algorithm!
