    You should read up on the Kornilov Affair. It wasn't at all as straight forward as you make it sound. It more reassembles a sitcom, full of miscommunication, rather then a sinister plot. When Kornilov was preparing to marched on Petrograd he thought Kerensky ordered him to do it as a first step of declaring marshal law under Kerensky. When Kornilov received word that he had been denounced as a traitor he thought Kerensky must have been overthrown by the Bolsheviks and that he was marching to rescue him. It was comedy when his troops met the Bolsheviks, armed by Kerensky, both sure that *they* where the once defending the goverment. I suggest Mike Duncan's episode about the affair on his Revolutions podcast. I only covered a bit of how stupid the whole thing was.

    If Trotsky was anything then it wasn't soft hearted. He was unpopular for his outspoken radicalism within the party. As recent historians have noted much of his criticisms of Stalin boiled down to 'I would have done that, but better', the man also got his fair share of innocent blood on his hands during the civil war, he was only soft hearted by Beria's standards and only then because of their different private proclivities.

      @@Bread-nx9fo That's probably because he was exiled and assasinated and was never the helmsman of the Soviet Union. If Trotsky became Lenin's successor, granted, the famines that broke out in Ukrain, southern Russia and Khazakstan may have been much less severe (while Trotsky was a heartless bastard he was nowhere near as vindictive as Stalin, who maintained the haphazard pace of collectivization, despite the agricultural chaos clearly eminating from it) the political purges and ideological puritanism would have been far more brutal. While Stalin was a harsh master, he was also a pragmatist, he kept the conservative elements of Russian society content by allowing the Orthodox church to continue to exist (although in a very restricted manner) and did away with much of the Marxist social experimentation (outlawed homosexual marriage, supressed avant-garde art in favor of socialist realism, etc.). Trotsky on the otherhand was a rabid marxist ideologue, believing not just in the historical process of dialectical materialism and the rise of proletarian societies and thus, revolution (which Stalin DID in fact believe in), he also believed in the social experimentation side of Marxism, iconoclasm against every facet of traditional society, the church, and anyone even expressing religious sentiment would have been viciously supressed, if not destroyed, anyone who spoke out against any new socially liberal policies or movements (seeing them as degenerate as many would) would be silenced one way or another. Even down to things like the expression of nationalist feelings, even from a basis of proletarianism, or even just cultural pride (things which Stalin capitalized on during the war) would likely at least be strongly discouraged if not supressed. Any type of collective pride outside of proletarian internationalism would be seen as counter revolutionary. If Trotsky came to power, we probably wpuld have seen a Russian versian of the Chinese cultural revolution under Moa.

    • @vorynrosethorn903
      @vorynrosethorn903 2 года назад +22

      @@stefans.466 Aye his commitment to internationalism would have made him better than Stalin but only as it would be likely that people would get real sick of him trying to invade them or topple their societies and the USSR would have gone the way of Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan, with a debolshevikication plan and the human costs and horrific crimes of the regime being common knowledge and completely delegitimising the ideology.
      In a way an ideologue like Trotsky would have been much better than a ruthless pragmatist like Stalin.

    There is a mistake: you put 1st and 2nd name, which in Russia is called name and familia (family name). For example, Lavr is name, Kornilov is familia.
    And there is VASILYEVICH Kolchak. Vasilyevich is not a name, it is otchestvo (father's name), which came to Russia from viking's naming tradition originally, like Son of Ragnar - Ragnarson. The same is with Vasilyevich - Son of Vasiliy. Kolchak's name was Alexandr.

He manages to become Grand Vizier (basically Ottoman Prime Minister) in the mid-20's at the head of his own nationalist front known as the Ottoman People's Party (OHF) and works to implement many of the same reforms he did in our timeline, except slightly less radical since the monarchy is still a thing.

    Kaissereich gives such an amazing opportunity for "glory history" that is actually a part of a well written and constructed alternate history, rather then a spirit that is a slight and vague mix of past propaganda, major sides' opinions on matters and the radical spirits of individuals which echoed through generations and elements of stories.
    Fancy talk La Fra- ...I mean French Syndicalist Union
    P.S. this is meant to be a cool comment that tells a short-(insert a fancy word for related to time here) analysis aka a random thought. This means the inclusion of elements necessary to give a good enough general understanding of the final conclusion & does not include La opinions on La elements being touched on. Take it in more of a literal way. A well constructed and written work rather then something, just means that thing instead of another thing, and is not indicative of the following random internet person's opinion, whose comment you're reading in the current moment, about the given objects and/or systems of conceptions.
    Apparently I still have enough analytical capacity for some fancy talk lol. Well, a way to give some value to the waste of a life I lived and will continue to live for a few more remaining weeks or months. By the way, why have you gone through so many comments?

    • @occam7382
      @occam7382 8 месяцев назад

      My headcanon is that after Savinkov's takeover of Russia, Wrangel fless with his family to Ukraine, as Wrangel had been one of Savinkov's biggest critics this entire time, and he was friends with Ukraine's Hetman, Pavlo Skoropadsky. He settles at his old home in Yalta, Crimea, and lives there peacefully up until the 2nd World War. At that point, Russia invades the Oststaaten, and Wrangel joins the effort to defend against Savinkov's Russia. Skoropadsky is killed and Kiev falls, but Wrangel holds out with whatever forces he can scrounge up in Crimea, where they beat back attack after attack from the Russians, and by 1944-45, drive the Russians out of Ukraine entirely. After the war ends, Wrangel is elected by the Rada to succeed the late Skoropadsky as Hetman of Ukraine, and out of respect for his friend, Wrangel accepts. He would rule as Hetman until his death in 1958, being known by many a Ukrainian as the greatest Hetman in their modern history.

    So is the First Episode of the Documentary going to be remade, and the old one unlisted? Because the timeline for that stays with the Old KR Lore prior to the other reworks. Like the 2nd Battle of Jutland (Which is brought up and then to-be-continued HL2-style) and the WeltKrieg ending in 1921, instead of 1919 like in the later episodes.
    Also is there a reason for Less Talking Heads? The Union of Britain ones were enjoyable, it feels nice to take a break and hear multiple perspectives from different characters every so often.
