Yay for mixed media hauls! That Sophie Yellow is my favorite! I've been curious also to see Moonglow as an art stick. It looks like it went down as a uniform purple in the swatch. I wonder if the pinks and greens show up as you get farther down the stick! I pronounce Faience like "fay-ahnce." It's a style of pottery, but in Ancient Egypt a lot of that pottery was blue (to mimic turquise and/or the sky) -- hence Faience blue. (Source: I wanted to be an Egyptologist when I was a kid.) 😄
That paynes grey is pretty! I've put tiny balls in my inks to help shake them. My husband uses them in his Warhammer paints. It really helps, especially if they sit for a while like mine do. I just looked them up, they're called mixing balls by the army painter. There are probably alternatives, but this is what I use. Just pop a ball in and shake 😊
@@margwong8416 yes if you search 'mixing balls paint' different ones will come up. I live in the Netherlands, though I assume other countries will also have them. The army painter is a brand name.
My favs are the H. Turquoise light and the DS Cobalt teal blue. Maybe it’s just because they are next to each other but they take me to a Caribbean beach!
You made a magenta/violet one again.... yeahhh... 😃😃 can' wait seeing it on Kofi. I loved the Paynes Grey, such a beautiful colour, and Mooglow is wonderful. I never was a friend of Gold and putting Gold on paintings, till I saw you highlighting your flowers. Now I'm in love and I ordered several sets of Viva - Maya Gold - metalic Acrylics 😁. But I haven't tried them yet. I really loved the Winsor & Newton Golden Gouache... the dark one. It would fit fantastic on Paynes Grey and Blue grey. Loved the video! Of course... as always 😀
Hi! I liked the Paynes Grey, Mars brown, Isaro Nordmann Green, Isaro Steel blue (that I caught glimpses of when I went back to review what you swatched.) I liked learning that you can get some of the daniel Smith colors more affordably by buying them in sticks - I shall keep that in mind. This is my second video of your's to find, and I will subscribe now.
I have a lot of Maimeri Blu watercolours because it’s one of the few brands my local art store carries. I prefer DS (as my alternative local brand), but there are some Maimeri Blu colours I do love (including Dragon’s Blood lol). I prefer Quin Lake over Quin Magenta. I love their version of Paynes grey, a few turquoise colours and several of their natural colours are perfect landscape colours for me. I even like Green Gold (although mine looks quite different from your swatch); there’s a time of year when that green gold is perfect for fields that I paint. I have had binder separation occasionally, but I’ve never had the paint explode from the tube like DS colours do. My recommendation is to avoid Maimeri gouache. Unfortunately that’s the easier gouache for me to buy locally and I really don’t like it, so I end up ordering online 99% of the time. Lovely assortment of items!! Hope you enjoy them all!! 😊
Thank you so much for sharing Faith Ann. I will make a palette out of the MaiMeri Blu watercolours & see if the green gold looks different ❤️ lol got the longest time I thought DS only exploded with me 😂
beautiful paints ,i want to get the Daniel Smith sticks but i have a nice small set of the pans already,my favorites for bright pigments are my mission golds and Shinhan ,thank you ,i love your voice ,
PBr25 is Benzimidazolone Brown, so that's an interesting option for their Dragon's Blood. A Gallo has a Dragon's Blood which is a natural pigment made from the resin of the Daemonorops draco plant and other rattan palms and it's a much deeper darker brick red. That Quin Magenta is bizarre too! Now I know I don't need to get any MaiMeri Blu paints so very useful thanks! Big fan of the Golden Acrylics gold though, especially if you mix it with Schmincke's Bronze Aqua gold powders!
yay! a new SnS video and what a fun haul! If you are exploring, I have to recommend Daniel Smith's Iridescent Aztec Gold Gouache!!! I was so pleasantly surprised by it! Also Beam paint metallic paint stones are so fun too, Dreamer's Gold and Wild Salmon. I have that MaimeriBlu Payne's Grey and its synthetic indigo, PB66/VatBlue1. (Their Indigo is the NB1) Both are fading friends ha. Is the Roman Szmal new Phthalo Blue Turq Shade PB15:4, wonder how it compare to MB Phthalo Turq in hue? I find the Green Gold is good for a mixing color for natural greens; try it with Indanthrone. I agree with you (as does the Daniel Smith crew in a livestream) that their sticks are not like watercolor crayons or pencils in ability to draw with them and re-wet; the lines remain.
I love that the Daniel Smith sticks are more economical and easy to use. I also cut mine and put in my palette. That Golden acrylic gold color is pretty! Thanks for the awesome swatching video. 😊
Oooh, Sketches, that Mars Brown tube was so frustrating. I’ve only experienced that once and it was with DS Purpurite Genuine and I think it was Series 4 - so not inexpensive. The binder had separated and I used a straightened out large paper clip to stir it up but I was still left with like half a tube. I should’ve contacted DS for a replacement but I didn’t. I have a Maimeri Blu pan set and I just didn’t like it that much. One of the pans was Green Earth and it literally was just a pan of slightly green tinted binder - very gummy and useless. I actually threw it in the trash which I’ve never done with any paint. I have a lot of the DS watercolor sticks and they are definitely not intended for drawing on dry paper. It’s literally like taking a dry pan of watercolor and trying to draw with it so I’m not sure why people think that’s enjoyable 😂. I didn’t know there was gold gouache from WN. It would be great if it was a little less “brassy” and more like the Golden Acrylic- that is a nice looking gold. I’m sorry about your broken Neocolor 1 - will they replace it? I like the Holbein Maganese Blue Nova and the Indanthrone blue. The PR122 from Maimeri Blu is nice too. I know RS’s Magenta granulates a bit - I can’t tell if the Maimeri Blu does also? Thank you for the swatching!💕
Thank you so much for watching and your kind comment Terri! I know, I’ve had tubes that weren’t filled to the brim but never ones that were practically half empty. I’ve messaged Artemiranda about the tube and the Neocolor & I’ll see what they say. Although I bought them quite a while ago so they may say it’s too late 🤷🏾♀️ I agree lol drawing with the sticks isn’t enjoyable for me either lol I hope you have a wonderful weekend x ❤️❤️❤️
Because I don't like yellows py129 is my favorite yellow ever 😂 but I am trying to include more yellows in my palettes and so far I only liked py150 😅 but wow what a swatch video so fun and diverse. I definitely need to try the golden ink, and their shimmery pink is gorgeous!
I love the Maimeri paints. It sucks that we seem to have had such very different experiences with some of them :/. Thanks for another informative video!!!
Thank you so much for watching Jma! I love some of the colours and lll still use them 😅😂 sometimes it just takes a while for me to get used to certain colours ❤️
I love a lot of my Maimeri colours too. I have a few of the same colours and they seem to look different in my swatches, I wonder if the paper colour makes them look a bit different? I think the paper I use might be a bit brighter and maybe that affects how they appear for me? I love Quin Lake, wish you had ordered that one!
Unless something has changed since I added it to my wish list, MaimeriBlu's Payne's Grey is made with PB66, which is synthetic indigo. Which is funny, because I bought their Indigo specifically because it was one of the few available made with the natural indigo pigment, NB1. I don't care much about fugitive or not, because I'm just painting for fun, so curiosity often gets the best of me.
Windsor and Newton Paynes Grey I love ❤ Liquid metal gold classic gold by Robertson I like but its too much in tge bottle for only wamting a bit to use amd its a little pricey too❤ love your beautiful flowers 😊
I love PY129 Azo Green (M. Graham's version of Green Gold) and have it in my palette and removed PY150. It is super awesome if you paint sun-drenched vegetation and mixed with the blues used in the sky in your landscape. The Sennelier Sophie used to be a favourite, until I found out it isn't lightfast. Now I use it in sketchbooks. Nice to see the watercolour swatches especially. I also love the FW acrylic inks in pearlescent. I have an entire set of six. So fun with a dip pen.
I share even more of my art supplies & how I used them in this video: ruclips.net/video/1e9C3-00kX0/видео.html
I would LOVE to see your abstract process on youTube. It looks so beautiful.
Thank you Iade! I may do so in the future! At the moment my abstract grid videos are on my Ko-Fi as a thank you for their support xx
a new video by you always makes me happy ❤
Thank you so much Karlijn! I am glad x x
OMG, now I really need the gold acrylic ink. So beautiful.
Thank you Jessica! I agree, it is one of my favourites too x

Me and you both! Xx

Are these balls available to buy on Amazon? I'm not sure what the "army painter" is. Thanks!

You could try using colored pencils over gouache or watercolor, for adding details, they work perfectly together
Thank you Aineli! I like doing that too on occasion x

Thank you for watching and for sharing!! Lol I'd love that too. x x
Intrigued by the name. Yea, I’m not the only one!!!
😂😂❤️
Green gold when mixed with perylene green is amazing!!!!
Thank you Sara! I’ll try it ❤️

I'm on a similar journey looking for gold's so I'll be keeping an eye on what you find. That Payne's Grey was my favourite.
Thank you ToriAmethyst! Good luck on your search x

The Maimeri Quin Magenta is poetic. The Verzino Violet is also beautiful.
Awww I love that description x
I think the Maimeri phthalo turquoise might be my favourite, but it’s difficult to decide. I’ll go with that, though. That’s a lovely haul ❤
Thank you for watching and sharing Sonya! 💙

okay soooo my favorite is hard to pick but if i were to buy only 1 item that would be the second color of the FW acrylic ink.

The Payne’s grey is very much like W&N Payne’s grey - my fav. 😊
I love that Paynes grey too! Have you seen my Paynes grey video? 😂😂 I compared the 11 I had at the time x
I'm a watercolor fan but for this haul my favorite is the acrylic gold.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing x
My favourite was the acrylic gold, it’s now on my Micheals cart. Nice haul! Keep creating 💙💛💜
Thank you so much MzEbony ❤️❤️❤️
The Quin Violet PV55 is very, very purple on my screen. That is unusual. Not bad, but very unusual 🧐.
It is very purple in person too, like a slightly fairer dioxazine x
Gold !!

Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
