    Thank you very much for that. When I was a little boy a hundred years ago (give or take) Mr. Jones was in the same NRHS chapter as my family. Good to see his work again and gratified to know it lives on.

    I had some customers in Mechanicsville and checked out the operation at the RR yard 2010-11. Seemed like a great place to model. At one time, it was one of the 4th busiest yards in the US!

      Mechanicville was made mostly redundant when the D&H was absorbed into Guilford System in the early 80s.

    Thank you for posting this vintage 8mm reel. At 3:12 a piggyback load of Xtru Coated Steel Pipe, pipe made by a US steel company and hardworking US workers. Load is destined for some gas company in the northeast, or even maybe our families supply house in Massachusetts.

    Years ago, I remember the cabooses on the end of the Southern Railroad freight trains were painted FIRE ENGINE RED.
    Whenever it would pass, I'd wave to the fellas that were on there, and, they'd wave back.❤❤❤😊😊😊
    Also, it was SO GOOD to see the old Seaboard Coast Line logo that featured the ❤ that said in it THROUGH THE HEART OF THE SOUTH (used to have a T-shirt with that logo. Wish I still had it.😢😢😢).

    Love to see more D&H stuff preserved, I can help with some locations if its warranted;
    Majority of the stuff around XO Tower of has BM power in it is around Mechanicsville NY
    Clips around 9 minute mark take place at JS Cabin, today that may be around Ballston Spa NY
    10:03 - this clip the two following ones are on Richmondville Hill, unsure if a specific location but I believe between Cobeskill and Worcester.
    12:35 - Thompson on the Penn Division
    13:47 - Ararat PA on the Penn Division, signals should be about where the summit of the grade for Ararat Hill is.
    14:46 - Mohawk Yard up across the river from Schenactey

      Thank you. I assumed the yard sequence was Oneonta, not Mohawk. I've pinned your comment so it will appear at the top. Hopefully it gets read.
      If you enjoy D&H films John Pechulis Media is up to I think nine full length DVDs of D&H films mostly from the 70s and 80s.

    Does anyone know if that's an ACMU on the rear of the first Penn Central train at 1:08? The general shape looks like an early ex-NYC ACMU, although I can't find any info of the Penn Central having cab cars on the rear of passenger trains outside of their commuter services, let alone ACMUs.

    Would really like to know what location and Penn Central train are in the opening minutes. The other passenger trains seen are probably the "Laurentian;" except the one at 4:00 might be the "Montreal Limited" as it appears to have sleeping cars on the rear, and the one at 12:30 which could be the Binghamton - Albany local.

    Too bad it is a tiny remnant left in this country now.
