    The guy at 8:40 had the perfect description. Lebron brings strength, D Wade brings speed, but Kobe brings command.

    How sad is it when you have the greatest players praising Kobe for the worth he is, but have random fans still dismiss those claims from them and point to a random stat. Is just soo sad.

    THAT FIRST CLIP FROM TMAC, GOD DAMN! That right there shows the difference in how different generations of people think. Back then people get together after that already achieved and validated themselves, today players decline getting past the struggle and just want the validation.

    Shaq (in his prime) admitting Kobe is the best at 0:48, considering Shaq's ego and thinking he's the best is a big deal. I've been telling people that yes Kobe and AI were basically tied for best player in the league....in terms of all around play, gotta give Kobe the edge for winning and being bigger (yes if AI was taller it migt be a different story). Shaq yes most dominant no doubt. 2000 Shaq was the best all around and dominant with Kobe, AI, Duncan etc right next. but Shaq's liability on the free throw line, getting injured, not staying healthy played a part in him not really being the all around best player. Kobe was the best from 2001-end of 2010 undoubtedly. Then LeBron until now

      Couldnt agree more. 2001 playoffs vs the Spurs. Kobe dominated the Kings and then the Spurs games 1 and 2 in San Antonio. He was a man possessed that series. Thats when I knew, this man might be as good or better than MJ.

    • @michaelmaccrazy
      @michaelmaccrazy 4 года назад

      He literally said seconds later that there weren't no problems between him and Kobe and all of us knew that was BS. Shaq's intentions were good and pure but he was gassing his teammate up.

  • @roet69

    Kobe is the best player of all time. Jordan never had to face opponents like the ones Kobe has to face. Jordan was great in his day but this is now. The NBA players right now compare to the ones back then in MJ day are faster, stronger ect it's way harder to score but Kobe Bryant finds a way to rise over all these great player. Kobe is the best of all time no question

  • @2xAcTiOnXJaCkS0nx
    @2xAcTiOnXJaCkS0nx 9 лет назад +27

    kobe over jordan for one reason the zone defense which both have openly admitted completely changes how a superstar can and cannot effect the outcome of the game. The change happened in 2001 during kobe's 1st string of titles with shaq and it didn't stop him. Compare his numbers from then forward during his prime he ONLY got better and is the only player to do so at such a level with such results during the "ZONE DEFENZE" era in the NBA (honorable mention is tim duncan but he doesn't dominate or take games over the way kobe and jordan do, not in such a complete capacity because they can control the ball the entirety of the game),

    • @TheLionaaa
      @TheLionaaa 9 лет назад +1

      +Joe Kelly
      Kobe himself says how much Defense sucks in his era compared to Jordan's era. And he says it LOUDER than anybody LOL

    • @2xAcTiOnXJaCkS0nx
      @2xAcTiOnXJaCkS0nx 9 лет назад +3

      Kobe says that because they use the zone...why do they use it? Because they cant guard man to man how is that harder on kobe vs mj? Mj could go one vs one and drive to the lane without getting doubled or having switches kobe has dealt with all of that which made him shoot more then drive and everyone knows driving is a higher % shot for kobe and mj so who had it easier?

    • @TheLionaaa
      @TheLionaaa 9 лет назад

      Joe Kelly
      Ask Kobe lol. And by the way, they played about as much zone in Jordan's era than they did in Kobe era even though it wasn't legal. Plus, the teams were better defensively and individually, there were MUCH MORE great defensive players in Jordan's era. On top of that, the rules were much more tougher for the offensive players. I think that's the argument Kobe likes to use. Oh, I forgot...they actually had lots of real centers in Jordan's era and most of the best centers ever also in the 80's and 90's. They knew how to protect the paint you know...I think that summarizes it pretty much.

    • @2xAcTiOnXJaCkS0nx
      @2xAcTiOnXJaCkS0nx 9 лет назад

      I feel like the arguement comes down to better athletes vs zone and which is more difficult to dominate i guess im overestimating kobe and mj's ability to breakdown the def and finish at the rim and giving kobe too much credit for becoming a better shooter then mj was i just think mj couldnt have adapted as well as kobe did vs the zone but you make excellent points

    • @TheLionaaa
      @TheLionaaa 9 лет назад

      +Joe Kelly
      Look. First of all no need to say "Kobe and MJ". MJ didn't play in Kobe's era and Kobe never had to go through the defenses and defenders Jordan faced in his era. Kobe has never been in his life a better shooter than MJ. Tex Winter said it, Phil Jackson said it in his book " 11 rings" in case somebody will have a doubt. Not only that but Jordan was a WAY BETTER SHOOTER. I don't care how many times ESPN says Kobe is a better shooter.Jordan scored more than Kobe by shooting 50% (in a tougher era defensively in terms of team defense, individual defense and rules ) for his career. Kobe never reached 50% one season in a easier era defensively (specially for perimeter players) and you try to argue about Kobe being best shooter? Michael could score 50 out of double and triple teams just by shooting fadeaways after fadeaways man... LOL come on man...

    For years, Kobe was villified for the Kobe-Shaq feud.
    But, after the Lebacle, people look back on what happen and understand it.
    Back then, no one could understand how Kobe would want to do it without Shaq.
    Now, we look at lebron, and it makes us realize how great kobe is. Kobe was already on his way to greatness, but, to become the greatest, he needed to be the man, he did not want to ride the cotails of Shaq.
    It cost Kobe some of the best years of his career.
    But, he is greater for it.

    • @BoSsCWOM
      @BoSsCWOM 8 лет назад

      +GM3TV what the hell are you talking bout. mj averaged more assists than kobe over his career has had a season where he averaged 32ppg 8ast and 8 rebs. Jordan is one of 3 players who isn't a power forward or center to win defensive player of the year. he shoots the same percentage from 3 as kobe for their career kobe just took more of them. he's more athletic than kobe, and stronger which made him able to take easier shots and thus shoot a higher percentage. he stopped patrick ewing, malone, stockton, barkley, reggie miller, shawn kemp, gary payton, and more from winning a ring. He hit multiple game winners in the finals and averaged over 40 points for an entire nba finals, and 37 ppg for an entire season. Kobe is top ten. MJ is the goat by the stats and the eye test. He won 3 rings with centers most people can't name and just scottie pippen. then he won 3 more with rodman who was an exceptional rebounder and defender but was void of any offensive talent. He's the best ever.

    The second option notion is overated in my opinion, Kobe averaged 0.9 less points during the 2001 playoffs. So technically he was the second scoring option lmao. But you don't win championships jst by scoring, it takes defense and facilitating. People forget Kobe had to guard Iverson, Miller, and Kidd during those Finals, plus he was facilitating the triangle offense, you could argue KOBE was a bigger part. But its jst stupid to argue in general you need two all stars to win rings not one.

    Im a huge laker fan and Kobe is my favorite player in the league but he is not better than jordan. He's close but kobe is not jordan. Lebron is overrated as fuck. He isn't even close to kobe or jordan. Sure kobe had shaq and they had a three peat but lebron had dwayne wade, chris bosh, ray allen, and the birdman. Lebron had all these people and still lost and now as many of you know, he is back in cleveland and he is recruting as many good players as he can. Lebron is a great player but i have no respect for him.

    @kaYboi8o8 I'm confused on why you're upset about 81 points. Kobe took 46 shots... And made 28. An efficient game to any one-without even analyzing the fact he went 7-14 from 3, which is also pretty damn good. If you're trying to win a game, it doesn't matter who scores the points in the end-it matters that you scored them. 7-14 from 3, 21-32 from 2, 18-20 from the stripe. I don't care how you spread that out, that's hard to match. And Lamar went 1-7 on the night. Why should he have passed more?

    I think comparing Kobe to Jordan is pointless until he wins 6 rings. If he wins 7, then all of us will be saying he is better. I'm a Kobe Fan, I'm enjoying the ride and watching history unfold.

    Comments like this amuse me.
    Kobe was a lot younger than Shaq, Kobe had to come in and show work ethic, and prove himself... I think it's SAFE to say he did.

    @sonik485 Yes those people you mentioned did change the game of basketball. But many years after Kobe retires one day, then maybe people will also recognize him as one of the very GREATS. His work ethic, killer instinct, and will to win are some things that can't be taught though.

    Huge Lakers fan here and huge Kobe fan as well. LeBron is the best in the league right now. Kobe is number two. Kobe was the best player in the league from 2001-2009. Now it's LeBron's turn. LeBron's been the best since 2010.

    Kobe is my favorite player no question he is the best in the game right now but the last guy doesn't know what he's talking about the NBA is a much more offensive friendly game. Teams used to go out there and basically tackle MJ there was no such thing as hand checking. And MJ was a defensive player of the year there hasn't be a guard to win that honor since him. Kobe still has time to prove he's equal to Jordan (Maybe someday better) but we can't say that now

    Kobe is better than jordan because in the 90s it was easier to score then and micheal couldn't shoot 3s to save his life because he shot about 30% from 3 and u look at kobe about 45% and kobe had 81 and micheal only had mid range and inside when kobe has It all but this doesn't mean that micheal completely sucked at 3s, he did make them when he needed to but he couldn't make a fadeaway double pump fake 3 like kobe can and kobe averaged more 40 and 50 more games than micheal. YOU DECIDE!!!!!
