    I think we all agree prime Kobe was a better and more complete scorer than prime Lebron. Kobe had the mentality to score while Lebron has a mentality to look for his teammates first. Kobe uses his scoring to set up his teammates. Its a different style of making guys around you better. Same with Jordan. They forced you to double team them or they would kill you. Lebron is not like that.

    He's also got the most jerseys sold. That shows me right there that he's valuable to the NBA. Fans love him. It's partly his style but mostly his effectiveness to win games.

    • @jasonbourne1746
      @jasonbourne1746 9 лет назад +4

      thing with Kobe is, he will keep it simple. First he will try to beat you with fundamentals alone (shooting off screens, triple threat pull ups in the post etc). Then if the defender plays his shot, he will drive to the basket, then he will do 1 dribble or 2 dribble pullups which are hard. then he will post up and do fades off both shoulders with fakes. then he will do a jab step hesitation out of the triple threat into a 1 dribble pull up and so on, he will do variations out of those all, and sometimes do even crazier things based off what i mentioned.
      it looks so easy but the timing, speed, and accuracy of each movement have to be so perfect each and every time, and that's why kobe makes it look so damn easy, because he is constantly at work practicing. imagine if you did something, ANYTHING, like calculus problems, every single day, in a systemic way of progression, hours and hours put into calculus. you would be the MASTER of it eventually. that's what Kobe did, he mastered the game of basketball, and that's why even as a 36 year old coming off 2 injuries, with one of the worst defensive teams, he can still put up points and be the most effective player at creating space for himself besides the one and only prime Kevin Durant, who IMO has gone through the right of passage from Jordan to Kobe to himself, as the next big scorer and mega star of the league.

    Obvious you guys are not laker fans. So let me say this shaq moved to the lakers from Orlando with penny still on the squad. Shaq would not have won anything with out kobe or d wade. Yes shaq was dominant. Yeah kobe never shot over 50 percent no shit when shaq left. For 4 years kobe had... No one smush parker, lamar, kwame brown and Adam Morrison on the starting line up. No shit he had to take 25 shots with that line up. Then the lakers got pau for a steal but in return the grizzles got Marc gasol. And when gasol came kobe willed that team to the finals losing to a stacked boston team. And got two chips making Andrew Bynum the second coming of shaq... So yeah kobe isn't good this guy scored 81 in the modern league. People that wanna bring stats up shut up it's the intangibles that makes greatness. You motherfuckers wanna bag on the second coming of Michael Jordan no one even close. Ohhhhhh Michael had Scottie pippen for those 6 chips. I guarantee you if kobe had pippen the most underrated player of all time that played both ends of the court I guarantee you kobe would have 8 chips.

      Career 3pt%: MJ 32% - KB 33%
      Career playoff 3pt%: MJ 33% = KB 33%
      Career Finals 3pt%: MJ 37% > KB 31%
      FACT #1: Kobe's NEVER shot 38% (or better) in the playoffs from behind the 3pt stripe, during ANY of his title seasons.
      Not once!!
      FACT #2: MJ shot OVER 38% from behind the 3pt stripe during the '91, '92, and '93 playoffs....you know, behind the OLD 3pt line!
      MJ has MORE SEASONS shooting above the league avg in 3pt% (4 > 2).
      And he also has MORE PLAYOFFS of consecutive 35% 3pt% shooting (5 > 2), as well as MORE PLAYOFFS shooting 38% or better 3pt% (6 > 2).
      Kobe a better defender?!! LOL!! That's a joke!!!
      In the words of Stephen A. Smith: "N*gga Please!!!!"
      I'll let the man that coached both of 'em smash that dumb a** claim:
      "[No question], Michael was a [tougher] and more [intimidating defender]. He could break through virtually [any screen] and [shut down] almost [any player] with his intense, laser-focused style of defense. Kobe tends to rely [more heavily] on his flexibility and craftiness, but takes [a lot] of [gambles] on defense and [often times] pays the price for it."
      -- Phil Jackson: "Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success"; May 21, 2013
      F*ck your dumb a**, fanboy "opinions".
      We're talkin' about LITERAL FACTS here!
      Maybe if you dummies didn't spend so much time constantly trying to shoehorn the FACTS (and evidence) of the matter, with your idiotic opinions of what you just want to be true (but isn't), you wouldn't CONSTANTLY get EXPOSED on here for being the utter morons that y'all are.

    • @blackadam06
      @blackadam06 8 лет назад

      Robert Brent
      "ask any nba player who shot better"
      I'd rather refer to the FACTS and EVIDENCE that stems from their actual on-court play to give me the answers.
      You see BOTH basketball-reference.com and 82games.com tackled this very topic back in '07 and '09 respectively, because there was SO MANY fanboys (like yourself), that constantly tried to make this claim.
      And what they did was compare their seasonal shot charts for made/missed FGAs, to determine who consistently shot better from:
      * 16-21 ft
      * 10-15 ft
      * 5-10 (the post)
      And before you try to use the 'ol dumb kobetard: "MJ got more dunks and layups than kobe" tactic that y'all are so fond of, it should be noted that they ELIMINATED the impact of dunks/layups from their made FGAs COMPLETELY in this comparison.
      Those shot charts not only PROVED that on a per game basis, both players consistently shot from about 15-16 ft on avg, but they also proved that MJ consistently shot a HIGHER % than kobe from those distances!
      In fact they proved that in career MADE shots INSIDE the 3pt arc, MJ bests kobe 52.4% > 47.2%.
      Kobe's had 3 seasons of 49% shooting inside the 3pt stripe, which is his BEST effort to date. Meanwhile MJ had 9 seasons of OVER 50% shooting inside the 3pt arc, with his 4 BEST seasons being at 55%!
      And again, this is EXCLUDING the impact of dunks and layups LOL!!
      So please explain to me, how the alleged superior shooter (kobe), consistently FAILED to make a greater % of his shots from SHORTER DISTANCES, than the guy he's supposed to be superior to (MJ)?
      What's wrong with this picture?!!
      Come back when you actually have some evidence kiddo...

    kobe is the best player in the league today..no contest. i'm just a lil disturbed at how easily people will say that he's better than MJ.. I mean, jus really think about it and try to remember how good Mike was....think HARD..Mike did EVERYTHING..the most u can do is match him. and that's STILL a helluva accomplishment...it's a REASON why KOBE himself say that 23 is the best ever

    You know you're great when everybody says you are, but nobody can say exactly why. Greatness is benig indefinable, and therefore indefensible.

    Kobe vs Duncan Myth 1: Duncan has more impact on his team .
    Kobe's Roles for his team:
    -Primary Scorer
    -Primary Defender
    -Primary go to player in 4th
    -Primary playmaker
    Duncan's Roles for team:
    -Not a primary scorer (very well-balanced scoring)
    -Bowen was the primary defender (Bowen denied penetration and guarded best players on other team)
    -Manu and Parker are the goto guys in the 4th (Duncan also has his moments, but he is not self-sufficient)
    -Parker's the primary playmaker
