Just finished school in May, I love the career! I am making over 6 figures as a tech by the EOY! Best decision I ever made. Thank you MRIman
Over 100k first year? What state do you live
That's awesome congratulations 👏
@@zackxmagz6343 MA & I work a lot of Overtime
wer did u go to school
@@xxiiSparkklexx that's amazing! I'm considering it
Your videos are inspirational. I’ve been in construction for over 5 years and was looking for a new career path. I decided to take your advice and get into phlebotomy first instead of jumping into MRI. Just passed my CPT exam and about to start my externship!
Ey thats dope! thanks! Phlebotomy is a great entry to the medical field for sure. Congratulations! keep grinding and stay up! Phlebotomy can be tough but you will get better quick. I learned by watching the best stick and I tried their techniques out!
Appreciate this video! I just applied to WCUI so this was super helpful:)
That's awesome! I have alot of videos that will help you on ur journey
Hey Maria. How's the program going?
How did it go
Really thinking of switching career paths this is motivating me :)
Awesome 👌🏽
I love these types of videos 😊
Thanks! 🔥
Yo can someone help me out please ! I have a exercise science associates degree that is recognized by ARRT am I able to go straight into a MRI education program than take a exam to get licensed or do I need to go back for another associates degree in medical imaging ?
I just found your channel! I got my BS in Psychology but my dream was always to head into the medical field. Doing my pre-requisites starting January for radiology technology programs! I really hope I can get in, want this so bad! Do you have any advice? The waitlist for one school is 3 years and one year and a half for the other. I was also looking at WCUI but it is not CAAHEP accredited, I heard if I do attend WCUI, employers won’t even look at me resume, is this true? :(
I know a bunch of people that went to WCUI and they are doing great! As long as you get that ARRT license OR ARMRIT. Now , yes alot of hospitals do require a crt which means you would have to get in that Rad program and become a xray tech get licensed in that and than take another registry and clinical for MR. I've worked at hospital without crt just MY MR ARRT. Hospitals are slowly changing
I’m going to reapply into my program and hope I get in 🙏🏼
Don't give up
We never got an update on this students progress? I am curious to know what happened.
Hey I’m currently enrolled at WCUI for mri technology! 1 year down and I’m on my last semester then off to externship!
Awesome!
This was a super helpful video and thanks to both of you… I started researching the WCIU school and found a lot of really concerning reviews on Yelp regarding lack of accreditation
Forsure! No problem
*** Hey can anyone tell me what text book is used at WCUI MRI los angeles for PHYSICS and cross sectional anatomy??thank you so much much appreciated.
Are you a student? I'm currently in phsyics
I’ve seen a lot of job postings for mri tech say they need you to have a CRT .. is it worth doing a mri tech program or should we just do a rad tech program if we want to be an mri tech?
If you can go for the rad tech program, get that crt xray and than get licensed in MRI. hospitals are slowly allowing us MR arrt in. I think eventually MR arrt techs will be accepted everywhere. I didn't want todo xray. I worked at a hospital with just my MR license as well. The more you know the easier you will get hired.
Can you do either or? For example looking at jobs require ARRT and CRT? Does that mean you have to be certified in both?
Thos program is just MR ARRT, CRT you would have to complete that Radiologic tech program and get that xray license
I’m going to attend wcui in Phoenix too in a couple of months. Excited for the grind and the process.
Did you do an interview with the school? Do you mind sharing how it went/ what questions they asked? I applied and they set me up for an interview so I’m just trying to prepare:)
Yea. I gave them my info online what program. They emailed me with a link that lets you pick a date to interview virtually. Depending how booked the person who’s going to interview you is. You may have to wait a month at least for me I did. They ask you what go you into it. Who you are. What interests you the most. They briefly go over how the class is set up and stuff. When the next class is going to start. Tuition. After you agree. You have to take a entrance exam and pass. You get 3 attempts. You have to send hs transcripts and diploma. After that you have a panel interview in a zoom call with other future students who want to get in to. They more in depth about everything there and you can ask more in depth questions. Rn I’m just waiting for my class to start
I had an interview with a woman but she ended up leaving that position and I was appointed someone else. It maybe a little different but generally the same.
@@jasonbravoperez498 do you remember what questions they asked you?
@@marianuno1654 first interview was easy and straightforward like I said they ask what got you into it ext… the panel interview they ask you more situational questions. For example. How would you handle a conflict or disagreement with a coworker? How would you handle a combatant patient in a good manner. I can’t remember all of them but those are a good jist of what they’ll ask
i’m scared to go to wcui because of the credits not transferring in the future and worried about job placement..
I’m in nursing school now and it’s not for me but I still want to be in the medical field are the prerequisites similar or do I have to start all over?
It really depends on the school/program.
I start my radiology program tomorrow 😬 I’m nervous and calm at the same time 😂😂😂😂😂😂 then clinicals are on Tuesday
Good luck 🍀 you should start a channel about your journey 😭
Fasho, I was super nervous starting the program as well. Just know that its going to be all worth it. Give your 100% effort and dont give up! follow me @therealmriman on instagram. @@MRIMan yeah at WCUI you have to take that test it’s part of the enrollment process
Yeah I talked to an admissions lady last week and you have to pass this test. But it should be easy.
