Hi I was considering being an mri tech bc I have a medical history where I had mris every year. Because of that, as an 18 year old, I strangely know a lot of things about mris lol. I think the technology is really cool. Did you attend a 4 year university? How did you get through it?
Cool. i tried so hard to get into the MRT courses back then. as an industrial ultrasonic/radiographic technician right now, i wonder how is it compering to what i do now.
I have a question. Do you need to work as a x ray tech first and then cross train as an MRI tech or can you work straight out of Radiology tech school as an MRI tech? I am considering this career.
sick video thanks just applied for gurnick academy and i am very excited for the opportunity to have an awesome job/career and for the positive effects that come with it.
I wish I was brave enough to go to school for this. I’ve been looking to get out of my kinda work cuz my body can’t take it anymore and the only thing I came across that I found interesting is this but I don’t think I’m smart enough to do it. I struggled bad in high school so that just makes me doubt myself. I don’t even really know where to start to become one either.
Been thinking about getting into this career. I already have a bachelors, however, I am not finding schools that will let you go to MRI directly and want you to do a RT first.
There’s quite a few programs where you can get an associates in radiologic technology and get certified in X ray, CT, and MRI in about just three years
Da GOAT = MRI Man! Seriously though, thanks for this video. I am curious what is the deal with co-workers on shift? Is it normally just you and a manager everyday?
🔥 yehhhhh! .. Actually we have 2 magnets back to back with 3 techs during the day. Right across the hall is CT and xray. It gets really busy . Also in the facility is Ultrasound. I couldn't cover everything. I want to some day
Thanks for your videos. I have a question about loudness of the machines. Is that ever an issue for you as a tech? I’m guessing you’re usually in the other room, or can wear ear protection as you showed. I just like to protect my ears because I have tinnitus, and highly interested in becoming mri tech. Thanks again!
What would i need to do in case of someone denying me sedation? Im medically complex and i often require mris for various different things my last one was because of an infection of my foot so i went in feet first i have high anxiety when it comes to having imaging the noise of the mri triggers it even with hearing protection i asked for it and got told i would be okay i was going in feet first i wasnt okay at all i came out full anxiety attack and no one seem to care in the radiology department
I was sold when i saw the Tesla lol. But seriously i was torn between nursing, sonography, and rad. After seeing this...I feel like I would enjoy working in MRI. I'm less than 3 semesters away from completing with my Rad tech ARRT so do you think i can get a job as a MRI Tech with that?
Nice video bro. I just came across your channel and subscribed 👍🏻. I’ve been working as a Angiography Tech for about 4 years and just lately changed path to work as a MRI Tech.

16:37 so what comes up in the box is called a slice and what the radiologist will see? Can it be extended if needed? Or are the numbers 1 to 27 each a slice but the box is the field of view?
Motivating! I have an MRI scan in a few days and before I found it quite strange with those loud noises but thanks to you I've seen how interesting it really is!
I’m in externship now . I get confused with my slices sometimes when planning . Can you give me any tips ? Also, can you make a videos about planning ? Thanks
I process over 30 PT on a daily basis for 3 MR rooms in the facility that I work for in Miami. The mornings are always busy since we get the contrast PT's & not only I/V's but also Labs are needed for renal failure PT/Diabetic over 60 y/o. Prescriptions or referral are far from perfect and they randomly correct. Calling for new RX is a daily tasks while informing the PT about the situation; quintessential. I'm year into my Tech ARRT certification board exam/school 🎒 one more to go. MRI has been challenging since they one but if you're in this field you're getting a constant reward by helping every single one of them, one case at a time, one day at a time. I'd like to believe something that I get to se the inside' before the DR.s 😄🤙🏼

Hi thanks for watching . Yes she is a MRI Tech
Thinking about going to school for this but Im not too sure….. great video though.
Forsure, it's definitely not for everyone. Really do your research.
Hi I was considering being an mri tech bc I have a medical history where I had mris every year. Because of that, as an 18 year old, I strangely know a lot of things about mris lol. I think the technology is really cool. Did you attend a 4 year university? How did you get through it?
I am x ray tech in Morocco that great what you doing
Cool. i tried so hard to get into the MRT courses back then. as an industrial ultrasonic/radiographic technician right now, i wonder how is it compering to what i do now.
Great work man. Love the way you present it. I have a mri tech interview coming up this week. hope it will help in my interview
Awesome that's great! I'm happy to help !
Fun video man. MRI Tech since 2010 here. :)
Thanks!
what is your starting salary fresh out of school?? And what is your max salary with years of experience under your belt??? Please I need to know.
Check my one of recent videos. I went over salaries for the whole nation!
I have a question. Do you need to work as a x ray tech first and then cross train as an MRI tech or can you work straight out of Radiology tech school as an MRI tech? I am considering this career.
I wonder this too
Coils and the table work with the magnet to create the image not just the coil
sick video thanks just applied for gurnick academy and i am very excited for the opportunity to have an awesome job/career and for the positive effects that come with it.
There’s quite a few programs where you can get an associates in radiologic technology and get certified in X ray, CT, and MRI in about just three years
and it’s here !! thanks for uploading man !
Finally!
I want to some day
@@MRIMan Cool, man! I like having some comradery with coworkers and all.
Awesome video sir! I am currently looking to pursue this career when I get out of the military in a couple months. Your videos are great!
That is great to hear! All the techs I know who were in the military are tremendous workers . Keep in touch
@@MRIMan What degree did you get before? I am going to try to get an associates in radiologic technology but I was curious to know which one you got.
Associates degree in science
One of the best videos! Keep it up dude👍🏾
Its one of my favorites forsure! Finally happened!
This is awesome! Please do more videos like this because these are aspirational for us students.
Forsure! We will
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!!! Thank you thank you!!!!
👏
good video thanks for the mri sample and info.
MRI made easy
Thanks for your videos. I have a question about loudness of the machines. Is that ever an issue for you as a tech? I’m guessing you’re usually in the other room, or can wear ear protection as you showed. I just like to protect my ears because I have tinnitus, and highly interested in becoming mri tech. Thanks again!
Yeh we it r not loud at all for us on the other side
So you do contrast dye first or last when doing MRI of brain with and without
Last
How do you know how much contrast a patient gets?
By weight we have a chart
What would i need to do in case of someone denying me sedation? Im medically complex and i often require mris for various different things my last one was because of an infection of my foot so i went in feet first i have high anxiety when it comes to having imaging the noise of the mri triggers it even with hearing protection i asked for it and got told i would be okay i was going in feet first i wasnt okay at all i came out full anxiety attack and no one seem to care in the radiology department
Thanks, bro.
I was sold when i saw the Tesla lol. But seriously i was torn between nursing, sonography, and rad. After seeing this...I feel like I would enjoy working in MRI. I'm less than 3 semesters away from completing with my Rad tech ARRT so do you think i can get a job as a MRI Tech with that?
forsure! thanks ! im glad I could help!
Love the video man, this would’ve been great to see as a student. What area are u based out of?
Thanks! Yes I wish I had a video like this when I was a student. We didn't see a machine til clinicals. Based out of California!
i have a vp shunt and everytime i'd have to be scanned, i'd have to book an appointment at the neurologist to reprogram the shunt after the scan
Do you suggest getting diagnostic rad tech before going into MRI?
Nice video bro.
I just came across your channel and subscribed 👍🏻.
I’ve been working as a Angiography Tech for about 4 years and just lately changed path to work as a MRI Tech.
Thank you that is awesome. Also follow me on instagram! @therealmriman
@@MRIMan reached to your yt channel from your instagram, your posts are hilarious 😂
Forsure 🔥 thanks!
It is a great video. Thanks for sharing. I’m glad that I find your channel. I want to become certified in mammography. Can I go straight to MRI school then advance in mammography later? Or I have to become a Rad technician first?
What is your work schedule like?
Great video, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
16:37 so what comes up in the box is called a slice and what the radiologist will see? Can it be extended if needed?
Or are the numbers 1 to 27 each a slice but the box is the field of view?
Would you recommend doing X-ray (CRT?) and MRI?
Highly recommend that!
Motivating!
I have an MRI scan in a few days and before I found it quite strange with those loud noises but thanks to you I've seen how interesting it really is!
Wonderful!
@@MRIMan I actually enjoyed it very much!
I’m in externship now . I get confused with my slices sometimes when planning . Can you give me any tips ? Also, can you make a videos about planning ? Thanks
Sure what body part would you like to learn?
Did you start in X-Ray first or just jump straight to MRI?
I went straight to MRI
Thanks for the videos
🔥 forsure follow me on instagram too! @therealmriman. Do you have any suggestions for videos?
dude this is so cool please make more
Wish I could but the new place I work they said I can't film
Do you do IVS IN the Hand or Arm????
Arm and hand!
Have you done Liver MRI IV CONTRAST????
This is very insightful and helpful to see what the work environment is ACTUALLY like day to day. This looks like a pretty cool job. Especially once you have your confidence and flow down pat.
Thanks I appreciate that! I love my job and what I do for the community.
Hello, I’m looking into MRI and I wanted to know is it mandatory to know how to do an IV? I’m not fond with needles or blood. 😬
Yes we must obtain a IV license during the program. But many get over this fear!
Ohh wow nice routine
In india totaly deferent lifestyle of mri tech
Thanks. A MRI tech routine in India would be interesting to see!
Question 🙋🏾♀️ do you have to do rad tech first in order to do mri
