Thank you Esmeralda . Wow no way that's a huge accomplishment! You came a long way. For the interview, I'd say be very confident and say you are ready for the job . They may ask you simple questions like , what do you run for a seizure brain (cor t2 threw the temporal lobes) what would you do if you saw brain bleed or mass ( call radiologist) what would you do if you have a difficult patient? (Call management) , how do you deal with claustrophobic patients? (Cover their eyes, offer music, let them bring in a friend or family member, sedation, talk to them more,. Let them know that patient care and MR safety is #1 , also that you want to grow with the company and you are eager to learn and get better.

Hey MRI Man! I’ve been feeling really discouraged lately within my mri program because of many techs are telling me the work life balance in MRI is terrible. Many techs say they will work 10/12 hour shifts and be called right back to work only to have to be there bright and early for their shift the next day. A few techs say this is everywhere no matter where you go! And also the politics of the hospital wanting you to scan patients that are not safe for MRI and will intimidate you if not! In your experience what is your opinion on this and is it possible to have work life balance in MRI?! Any advice/insight would be great!

I’m currently a Dental assistant and been doing it for 5 years now. I work with kids and I love it. However, income is not much and I work in California. My other interest is MRI. I was looking into it and getting as much info as i can and so far I’ve been liking it. But my biggest fear is what if I’m not good at the math part, I read you have to be good at physics, and if so what is your advise on how to be better? I’m one of those people who have to study a lot, and once I’m trained I’m really a fast learner. But In some areas I need a little more help, before I get it down.
