    MRI man! I appreciate and acknowledge all your videos thank you for all that you do! I’m 23 years young looking into starting Cardiovascular Sonography in July or MRI school in October. I understand pay isn’t everything, but obviously we don’t work for charity purposes but to make a living instead while loving what we do. Both careers pay relatively about the same here in California but I believe sonography paying a bit more. I don’t mind working with clients at all, I’m just indecisive on what to pursue.

    • @MRIMan
      @MRIMan  Год назад +4

      Thank you for your kind words! Choosing between Cardiovascular Sonography and MRI can be a tough decision, but here are some factors to consider:
      Job responsibilities: Cardiovascular Sonographers use ultrasound equipment to produce images of the heart and blood vessels to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various cardiac conditions. MRI Technologists, on the other hand, use magnetic fields and radio waves to produce images of various body parts and organs to aid in the diagnosis of various medical conditions. Consider which type of job responsibilities and patient population you may prefer to work with.
      Work environment: Cardiovascular Sonographers often work in hospitals, clinics, or private practices, while MRI Technologists may work in hospitals, diagnostic imaging centers, or mobile imaging services. Consider which work environment you may prefer.
      Job outlook: Both careers are expected to experience growth in job opportunities, but the demand for Cardiovascular Sonographers is expected to grow slightly faster than that of MRI Technologists. Consider which field may have more opportunities available in your area.
      Salary: While salary should not be the sole factor in your decision, it is important to consider your earning potential. As you mentioned, Cardiovascular Sonographers tend to earn slightly more than MRI Technologists in California.
      Ultimately, it is important to weigh all of these factors and consider which career path aligns best with your personal interests, skills, and career goals. You can also consider speaking with professionals in each field and shadowing or volunteering to gain a better understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of each job. Good luck with your decision

    Do you use math to calculate for patient injections or is it already calculated? Do you have to lift heavy items? I am a CNA with a hurt back (osteoarthritis which means working is basically over for me and my lumbar region is bone on bone and twisted - disabled) and cannot lift heavy things. I want to try to do this job before the my bones deteriorate and I am in a wheelchair. Give it to me straight, bro. If it requires moving heavy machines then I may as well not try to get in this field.

    If I dont get accepted into xray school next year, I would then have to wait till 2024. If that does happen, should I apply for the phlebotomy program next year? Would that be an advantage over other students who apply in the 2024 xray program?

    • @MRIMan
      @MRIMan  3 года назад +1

      +patriotnv786 Phlebotomy is a great way to get your foot in the door to a hospital. Yes it will make your resume look good. I was actually a Phlebotomist for 5 years before becoming a MRI tech. Have you ever considered going to a private school For xray? They would take you in rite away and you could be making money faster. Just a thought. It cost more but you having to wait until 2024 is a while and time is money. You could be done sooner if you went to a private school. Just a thought.

    • @patriotnv786

      @@MRIMan I haven't looked into private schools actually so I will definitely do that and I agree that if I have to wait 2 years, that would be a waste. Thanks for your reply!
