    I'm about to finish my clinical hours & then it's off to take my ARMRIT. My greatest concerns are...
    1) starting IV's or doing scans that required injecting contrast(because at my clinical site there were so few patients that needed contrast)...

    So, X-Ray, Sonography, MRI, CT are all specialties in the job of a Radiologic technologist? That’s kind of what I am assuming. I just now started to try and learn about the field but all I heard about was Radiologic technologist. Now I’m hearing about the “modalities” I think that’s what you call it. That’s basically the specialties within Radiologic Technologist, is that correct?

      I did work full-time as a phlebotomist, and went to school for MRI on the weekend. The other half of the classes were online. I went to Casa loma college . My advice would be to do the school partially online soo you could still work. I'm not gonna lie it's hard but we'll worth it.

    • @brandizzle2
      @brandizzle2 3 года назад

      @@nancylo5567 hi Nancy! Unfortunately, I applied through the LVN program at gurnick instead. But for the MRI program, to apply, you would get with an admissions advisor where they will schedule a call with you for about 30 mins to see what pre-requisite classes you need to take or transfer credits from. Then you apply, take an entrance exam which is timed 15 mins (50 questions) but they only count the right answers so answer as many as you can lol then, go thru registration process and then the last step is a panel interview. The mri program there is full time. And I just wasn’t able to work it out with my job. But I hope this info helps, you would just need to talk to an admissions advisor and they will definitely help you out!

    very informative!! I didn't know MRI Techs start IVs as well. I live in So. California were jobs are really competitive. My question is regarding landing your first job. Was it easy to find one? Is it cut throat? Also do some schools offer job placement? According to BLS there is about 2,700 projected jobs available. Compare that to respiratory therapists at 26,000 it seems like a tough field to land your first job especially as a new grad. Thanks in advance.

    • @MRIMan

Yes the school actually really helped me find a job! I think as a new grad you gotta be willing to travel or relocate in the beginning just to get some experience.
