Today let’s make some soegogi-jeon, or beef pancakes. It’s a super-simple recipe that pretty much every meat eater loves: nice, tender beef sliced thinly, battered lightly in flour and egg and pan fried quickly. The result is light, meaty, savory, golden brown, and really delicious.

Maangchi looks amazing! Can't wait to try it. An interesting thing about the squid dish you included in the recipe.....I always said I would never eat squid octopus (not a fan of the texture) but even that squid looks good! I would totally try that too!

When I lived in Hawaii there were Korean BBQ restaurants all over the island and I used to get Meat Jeon with rice and cabbage. It was soooo good!

In Puerto Rico we have just a traditional pancake called "bacalaitos" in spanish. It is very salty and it is made with tiny slices of cod fish, flour and spices. We also eat it very very crunchy.

I've found putting a slice part of the wa into a clove of garlic so that it is not separated but cut helps with crushing it. Like cut it maybe 1/2 or 1/3rd of the way through and then when you slam down on it to crush it you don't have garlic flying off at 100 mph. I also do this with ginger since I've had a bad time with that before and I needed to stop it from flying across the kitchen to a place I can't ever get it back out.
