However even after more than a decade Encore isn't considered a classic album.

It’s okay in my opinion. Not that good but not that bad. Crazy In Love, One Shot 2 Shot, Mockingbird, and Big Weenie saved the album for me.

The reason it wasn't as good as because he took off most of the leaked songs and of he didn't encore would've probably been great but they were replaced with songs he didn't take much time with but that's what happens when you leak music...

That’s not what’s he was saying at all. He said that his first three albums were rated really well and after the fact became considered classics while Encore gets shit on and that maybe enough time hadn’t gone by for critics to hear it differently

In one week Slim Shady LP sold almost 300,00 copies, The Marshall Mathers LP sold 1.7 million, The Eminem Show sold 1.3 million and Encore sold 1.5 million. Up until that point the only album that’s didn’t do great with reviews was Encore.

Relapse is a classic, elements of that is in 'the death of Slim Shady'. It wouldn't surprise me if he dropped another album it will be called something along the lines of 'Resurrection'.

Encore actually really had the potential to be a classic, a handful of bad songs fucked that up. If you replaced all the bad songs with When I’m Gone, Ricky Ticky Tock, We As Americans, Love You More…Encore would be talked about in a whole different light.

The leaks and Eminem's response to the leaks were what destroyed an otherwise classic album. Some of his best songs are on Encore: Like Toy Soldiers, Mockingbird, Love You More, We As Americans, Rain Man is hilarious and the beat is great, Never Enough, & Yellow Brick Road. Fortunately we got to see this incredibly comedic/satirical side of Eminem exceed its limit on this album and ultimately hindered his career as it was too late to reel this tasteless side of him back in moving forward. It's still interesting to see the downfall of early Eminem.
Personally I rate Encore as Em's second most underrated album, maybe first since Relapse is way more appreciated now than it once was
