Eminem fan here. I’m open to criticism of Eminem and I have a lot myself. I just think you didn’t really say anything new here. Same old criticisms I’ve heard before. I’ll say this, I think you’re off on how Eminem fans feel about his music today. The fast technical rapping isn’t what most Eminem fans love about him and we’ve been over it. Example, I agree with Tyler the Creator’s recent comments on Eminem’s music today.
Hey, thanks for the constructive criticism! I understand a lot of my critiques have been said before but I try to deliver it in a unique, fun way, but I’ll take that into consideration for future videos. Also, most of the times when I bring up what Em fans say about his new music it’s just played for laughs, but I understand that it may come off as simply generalizing the overall fanbase’s thoughts. Thank you for the comment though! I hope you were able to find enjoyment in the video whether you agreed with me or not!
But hes not technical anymore thats why he sucks. He was always corny but he used to have unique flows and more techincal rhyme structure /wordplay. He lost all his wit and just compensates with raw speed and it sucks.
Unpopular opinion: The Marshall Mathers LP 2 should have been his RETIREMENT album!!!! Yeah I said it. I’m not saying every single thing he’s put out after that was awful, but he took a dip in quality since then.
Calling revival mid is a complete understatement (it was garbage), kamikaze being an improvement isn’t saying much at all (it was mid with good and trash songs) MTBMB was mid overall

i dont blame Em, he made thousands of tracks behind the scene, for him to make songs today is a cursed bless, the biggest problem for him to kept involving is his fanbase and those OG 80s 90s rappers who critic all the newer generation, em used some crazy newer generation flows and vocal on offended but the beat is trash. Another problem is em always mixing himself, the mixing set is from encore, so outdated

I did like some of the songs on Kamikaze (Lucky you, Not alike, ) and MTBMB (You gonna learn, Godzilla, Darkness, Yah Yah, Lock it up, I will) . I did not like Revival AT ALL. Maybe wishful thinking but i think Eminem still has it in him to make a really good record.

When kamikaze came out there was a palpable rising quality in the hip hop industry. It's like there was this moment where people suddenly wanted to be better than they were. I think you really downplay eminems influence and quality. And starting off the album saying he wants to punch the world in the face was perfect. One of the most fun things about Eminem's music is going through the lore and understanding the lead up and context surrounding him, his fans, and his haters at the time the music came out. There is no other rapper where you feel like you have such a deep dive into a kind of lore as you go through their music. Just like with anything, understanding how to best appreciate something is an important skill when it comes to art. If you just look at the surface or play a smash or pass game with each line, you're appreciating the music all wrong.
Also, some people are so concerned and obsessed with judging every little thing he does that they forget to just sit back and enjoy the art. They forget he's just a guy putting out music. Although, the fact that people think they have to scrutinize every little thing shows just how good they think he actually is that it warrants that much scrutiny. It shows just how much they expect from him, when if any other rapper put out what he did they would probably praise it.

He's mad 24/7 and disses everyone who dared to say something not so nice about him. I can't stand it. And yeah hating on "mumble rap" while you inspired rappers like Hopsin, Joyner Lucas etc 💀. "Mumble rappers" haven't realeased Revival and Kamikaze, so they've released better music in the 2010s by default
if you replace "mumble rappers" with "boy bands" or "britney spears" then you have a word for word type of criticism eminem received on his first 3 albums
Interesting review. I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but I also think some of your opinions are derived from the context, extraneous from the music. I personally don't listen to music in such a regard. To appreciate what it is you are listening to, you have to cut your preconceived notions or personal bias. Yeah, this can be somewhat difficult, and it could be argued that it gives credence to trashbin artists like Tom Macdonald, but I have always found that taking the context of the environment in which the music was created away from your perception helps woth pretty much all music. Like, if I listened to Pink Floyd's The Wall with the context of Water's narcissism and ego eviscerating the sound of the band for future installments, and his axing of Wright, I'd detest that album. I think your criticism of Revival are... putting it WAY too lightly. Honestly, the homophobic slur on Kamikaze offends me less than the fact that THE MOST SUCCESSFUL HIP HOP ARTIST OF ALL TIME CREATED SOEMTHING SO TECHNICALLY EMBARRASSING. Awful mixing and mastering, horrid flows, terrible bars, bad features, rancid production... This fucker has it ALL. Kamikaze, I think, is a middle of the road album. I actually think most of the bars are clever, the flows are leagues above Revival, and the songs sound... well, for lack of a fnacy-pants explanation, good. What ruins it for me is, like you said, how bitter he was. But I don't care that he is taking a poop on critics, I care because it just gets repetitive. I actually think that critics SHOULD get checked by artists every so often. Otherwise good songs like Fall end up... FALLing... flat because the sentiment of "fuck you" ends up wearing thin. As a bisexual person, I don't really give a shit about homophobic slurs being used as a joke, which is why I don't get upset with songs like Criminal, but on Fall it came from a place of hate. And that was pretty stinky. Not offensive to me, just disheartening. Had it not been for the one trick pony effect, I think this album would have been a contender for the "good" moniker... That is, ignoring Normal, Nice Guy, and... VENUMMMMM ANRELNING DENIM BANANEMMMMM. I actually think MTBMB is a pretty good-to-great album. Really good production, even on the couple of bad songs, like Marsh or Stepdad. It had varying interesting topics, like gun control, parental abuse [executed poorly here, lmao], parental neglect and the scars that come with it, addiction, contemplation, and, interestingly enough on Premonition, a spanking for critics that ACTUALLY works, and isn't "Wahh, you suck, ur just too dumb!!11!!!", unlike on Kamikaze. It also had great flows, kept corny similes to a minimum, and was a really solid body of work. Then, the one you neglected to mention... Side B. Oh God. While it had pretty strong tonal consistency and production, and actually had some killer moments like on Alfred's Theme, Zeus, Gnat, and Discombobulated, it had one flaw that makes it harder for me to listen to than his Kamikaze album... The. Fucking. Similes. SO. MANY. SIMILES. And BAD similes to. Every other bar is just "I'm like ______" or "you're like ______". Honestly, it's so distracting that it legitimately ruins any enjoyability that the album has, and negates all of its technical achievements and otherwise audible enjoyability. Honestly, I want to put it below Revival, even though it had some genuinely good tracks. But I can't. Because Revival was awful. So, so awful. Anyways... Yeah, I was bored and made an essay in response to your video. Personal opinions aside, your editing and humor is really good, for a small scale channel! Looking forward to seeing some more of your content!
these are the best types of comments. im glad you could share your thoughts both on my video but also the music in a ton of depth! when it comes to what you said about listening to music without preconceived notions or bias, i 100% agree. however, i feel like once the actual musical content becomes contaminated with whatever i dont personally like about the artist, then that's where i make an exception. in the case of eminem, especially on kamikaze, i felt that his pure bitterness and unjustified hate towards other successful artists like Tyler completely ruined the parts of the album i enjoyed. and in the case of Tom Macdonald, sure i could say that i like his beats (i dont, but just for this example), but him using almost all of his songs to push bigoted alt-right pandering completely removes any potential enjoyment from the music. that's where i stand on the issue. as long as negative stuff outside of the music doesnt intrude on the actual music itself, then im all good. also im glad you could find enjoyment in MTBMB. i tried making it very clear in the video that the only reason i personally dont like it is because i find the record too long and boring. so, if you like it, cool! but if youre on team LukeOnDemand and dont like it, then thats cool too. anyways, thanks so much for the feedback, and hopefully you can check out the other stuff i have posted on my channel! ill be making new videos soon too!

The problem is he’s using all these new producers when he should be making his own beats
I don’t believe he made those beats …. He could’ve helped but I think his butt buddy Dre was behind the scenes on those they all sound like Dres producing

@@510tubercouldn’t have said it better myself. People overlook what em is doing with his music. The rhymes and technicality, even if you don’t like it sonically, is undeniable.

Couldn't agree more about Kamikaze. The lyrical content is awful.
Great video. Honestly I think MTBMB Side B is the second worst next to Revival
