"Who took home the W?" This is what's wrong with a LOT of things today. NOBODY took a "W" or an "L" in this because it wasn't a competition. They're two adults. Two successful artists. They had an argument and then solved it. Not every situation in life is about winning or losing.
I agree with the first part, but it wasn't really an argument. It was Tyler expressing his opinion, the Eminem turning around and going "Fuck you faggot". Like that's just one sided beef, and tbh, really fucked up.
Em actually acknowledges this in his song "No Regrets" "I can make a mistake and erupt and end up takin' a dump. Or sayin' some dumb shit, thinkin' I run shit Misplacin' my anger enough to give Earl and Tyler, The Creator the brunt" Where he basically says that he was so pissed off at a lot of people talking shit at the time that he thought Tyler and Earl Sweatshirt's comments were also with the intent to diss him, but then he realizes than that wasn't the case.

The thing about Em that people don’t talk about enough is how incredibly hilarious he is. Tyler is the same way. Both are brilliant and a couple of the funniest people
Being honest and talking shit online are different. Being honest is privately telling the person it concerns as to try help them. What Tyler did was try boost his views by talking about Eminem on a social media platform and lower Em's sales by forcing his opinion on the public. Tyler got let off. Em's worst mistake was apologising to him, only a sell out more bothered about public opinion than what's right/wrong would be forced into that.
@realBIG1500 It's just not. Instead of trashing the album, Tyler could have messaged Em or his team personally and said try do this instead. Or even publicly said hey yo em I think that was slightly off, why not give this a try. But to say Em has Dre, 50 and many other closer than Tyler is to him, that actually know music and opinion matters, unlike Tyler, he doesn't even need friendly advice from him. It's like an out-of shape football fan saying a player is terrible because he didn't kick the ball with the foot the fans prefers. Like who gives a crap, Eminem's worst work is better than Tyler's best. Hell even if Em lost every one of his senses he'd still out rap and write Tyler.
I really don't think Tyler was "two-faced" at all, just because you see someone as an idol, doesn't mean you have to like every single they do, I think out of his love for Eminem he made those tweets and I really don't see it as two-faced to dislike an album, he doesn't have to worship every album just because he idolises Em
I think everyone is missing some massive context in this, Eminem now has a non binary child, a member of the lgbtq community. He has a lot more empathy than he used to, especially in regards to that.
everyone complaining how Em changed when he got sober... i know with my personal experience with major addiction to opiates who is now sober and have been for years, i know what it can do to you. so when he got sober, he literally was a different person, his brain chemistry literally changed. i LOVE slim shady n how hard n raw he was, but i also LOVE being able to watch his growth as a person and artist n no matter how many "flops" he has, ill always be a Stan.
best comment I've read so far. It's so true, what you said about getting sober. I was terrified of the person who was gonna emerge when I finally did the deal and got my shit back in line. It's a scary transformation
Em has always been a caring and loving person, he's wrote songs about his daughter and family his whole life. It just doesn't sell and doesn't get you noticed when you're wrote off because of how you look and have no money. His view has changed on a few things over time, but that's just what happens. You learn you have to forgive certain aspects of your life and channel the caring in another form. People wouldn't struggle if they didn't care and drugs are usually used to cope, but as you learn to get over your problems the resentment goes and so do the drugs. They are linked, but I believe the attitude change stops the drugs. Some people never get over stuff or don't give themselves time to and they don't quit.
When you love someone you want them to stay the way they were when you met them but people grow and change. Being famous is tough, you’re livelihoods and reputation Is dependent on you finding a way to stay exactly the same without getting boring. Crazy
I know for most of my life, I would immediately get defensive when receiving criticism and it wasnt until my mid 30s (I'm 42 now) that I learned to receive criticism with as much grace as I would receive praise. It was one of the most difficult character flaws I've ever learned to overcome and I think that's because I had to be completely honest with myself and unlearn reactionary behavior that was deeply rooted in me from a young age. Once I got there, I realized that the insight gained from criticism is just as valuable as insight gained from praise. Once you apply that correction to the specific aspect being scrutinized, it will result in positive growth. I think Tyler is such a big fan of Em and has so much respect for him that he didn't want to do him the disservice of giving him biased, dishonest feedback. For me personally, I respect honesty and uncompromising integrity in someone's feedback or crtique; it's genuinely helpful and impactful for someone who strives toward positive growth. Now, for someone like Eminem, I can only imagine that struggle, to learn and grow, amplified by 1000%. The fact that he realized his mistake and acknowledged it is impressive and extremely uncommon for someone at the top of their profession. Much respect for both Tyler the Creator and the G.O.A.T. Eminem.

You are probably 100% correct. That's kinda the vibe I've gotten from people who don't like his newer stuff; they just want more of the same and aren't willing to expand their musical interest. When I go back and listen to his older stuff and compare it to his newer stuff, it's blatantly obvious that Eminem has grown as an artist and shows increased technical skill, wisdom, and intellectual nuance. When you're, not only the best at what you do, but appear to be superhuman at times, people will try to find flaws that may or may not exist; either out of jealousy or inability to comprehend. The intellectually challenged human beings of the world, unfortunately make up the majority of human beings of the world.

The fact that Em apologized to Tyler just says that he still appreciates Tyler as a long-term supporter. And he's evolving as a man. Also, Idgaf what anyone says, the BET freestyle was dope. ✊🏽
I don't think Tyler was being 2faced like you said in the video at 11:01 he looked up to Eminem and if you have status in the industry like Tyler has, you're gonna be heard. Every artist receives backlash at some point in their career and Eminem got it from Tyler and a bunch of other people as well.
Bruh I thought Walk On Water was fantastic. It's a true look into his heart. Doesn't need to be him spitting rhymes like he was as a 20 year old, 24/7.
Tyler wasn’t two-faced by not liking his stuff. Just because you’re friends with someone doesn’t mean you have to like everything they make and doesn’t mean you can’t say something about it. It’s moronic to pose the question “does this guy deserve to be called a slur for not liking a song?” Of course he doesn’t deserve it it’s a song, you’re not required to like songs, and the songs he disliked were widely disliked, so it’s not any kind of betrayal.
The biggest issue EM has with Tyler wasn't that he clowned the album but the fact that 2 weeks before it dropped Eminem invited multiple people he respected to Dr Dres house/studio for a listening party. Tyler & Earl both arrived, The album started playing front to back & Tyler & Earl both told him & Dre they thought it was dope. So then the album drops & Tyler tweets that & then Earl does but when he was in the same room listening he was going crazy about it being dope as fuck. I won't lie, I actually hated Revival whenever it first dropped (mind you I was 12 at the time of it's release). But after taking a random notion to listen to it, I actually took somewhat of a liking to it after a few years (when I was 16). It's definitely not his best project, although it does have some good songs on it in my opinion, those being Believe, River, Nowhere Fast, Offended, In Your Head, Castle, and Arose.
Bro let's face it, Em comes from a time where that was normal. He doesn't regret shit, he's just saving face because he angered an entire group of people. He probably could not give 2 shits about Tyler. Also, this problem where musicians who make anger-driven music lose their touch is pretty common in metal. Slipknot and Korn are prime examples. It's hard to stay angry when you are living your dream and making millions in the process, and that unfortunately translates into their music.

Tyler loves em so much and has so much respect for him to tell him "aye bro your album ain't it it ain't you" em respectfully so was mad at everyone hating on his album that he took things too personally and that he crossed the line by calling Tyler the f word so he simply acknowledged his wrong doing and accepted it wasn't right and felt he needed to clear the air about it. The two in my opinion have mutual respect for one another
A few people iterated the fact that Tyler seeing Em as an idol doesn't grant Em cart-blanche to make whatever project and have his fans lick it off the floor. Tyler genuinely respects Em and all the tweets shown in the video never said "Em, YOU'RE trash", they only called the song/album trash or bad or not the same. It's Tyler basically saying "Bro, I KNOW FOR A FACT you have it in you. You've done it before. I KNOW you can do it again." It's the delivery that could be called into question. As to who won? People complaining about Revival because it's "too political" & "tackled social issues" are just people who have never grown up. If you're a rapper and you're still rapping about the same shit when you're 40 that you did when you were 20, then you have literally haven't grown mentally or emotionally.
its not about the content tbh, his political freestyle was trash from a rap theory standpoint altogether. the entire rhyme scheme was weak when you break it down, very short repeated rhyme setups with no evolution in the entire thing. Em was known for pushing what could be done with a rhyme scheme, creating many flows that a lot of rappers have made their entire flow. Em now isnt really pushing for the sake of hiphop anymore, he just pushing for clout.

But it performed par for the course everywhere else and was the best selling album Christmas time in the U.K 2017
Oh you THINK THAT’S the issue people had with Revival?😂😂😂 oooooh buddy buddy BUDDY! That ain’t it chief The reason it’s hated on is due to the PRODUCTION. Which, in turn, severely affected Eminem’s lyrics. Was the message there? Yes. However, due to Eminem playing off what he got from the terrible production and mixing, people couldn’t hear the message And at that point, it doesn’t matter what he was saying. Cuz to anyone outside of Eminem’s fan base, it’s UNLISTENABLE Nobody complained about Eminem attacking social issues In fact he should do that MORE. The problem was the production which in turn affected the lyrics. Em writes not only to be complex, but to play off the feeling he gets FROM the beats If you rap over terrible production, what do you think happens to the lyricism when you’re playing off of that? Kamikaze had a ton of the production that woulda changed the Revival album for the better
@@amanSpawn00 even if the beats were all terrible, the worst it can get from bad beats alone is 8/10 Sadly most fans don't understand the origin of beats in rap and that many beats were made to be unlistenable to push away casual listeners when discussing serious topics
@ANTI aka Kalamite It seems that was the issue FOR YOU. No matter what you try to say it doesn't change the fact that all music is SUBJECTIVE. If you're the kind of person that values production over substance that's fine. But there are just as many people out there who will hear a song and think it's amazing just due to the message alone. Some are lyrics people, some are musical people, and some are both. It's why 3 people can all listen to the same song and end up having 3 wildly differing opinions about it. It's why ANY song, we'll use Miley Cyrus' 'Wrexking Ball' as an example, can make one person break down into tears feeling It's the greatest song ever written, while at the same time you might hear nothing but pure trash. Unless you're a literal child, and if you are then no offense (but also go tf to bed), then you should have learned this by now. Nobody thinks it's cool to be a music snob my dude. I mean when you break it down it's hilarious that you think YOU, a random person with absolutely ZERO SUCCESS in the music industry, knows more about how someone else's music should've been produced & mixed than one of the most talented & successful artists of all time, who's also working with some of the talented producers & engineers in the game. Nah, it's makes way more sense that they didn't know what they were doing but YOU do lmaooo. So one question to you then: if you're the one who's right about all that's wrong with the album, then tell me logically how, according to you, all of the producers & engineers on the album were somehow able to all "fail" in turning out great music? Because going by your logic, these people who are in the very top of their fields, somehow ALL failed to notice that the work they were doing was just trash? Or does it seem much, much more likely that music is simply subjective? 🤔
“What Tyler said was messed up” bro he was criticizing him for making a shitty project it’s not like backstabbed him by doing that either it’s like your friends saying “hey dude that drawing sucked” but you know he’s joking but being a little serious just because Em was one of Tyler’s idols doesn’t devoid him from criticism from Tyler
Well, Eminem never apologised for nothing to noone. What he said in that interview with Sway was that he was angry for what Tyler has been saying against Eminem and that album, and since he never expected Tyler to make fun of Eminem's work, he was in dilemma. Hence, he said what he said. Infact, Em has always praised Tyler for his creativity and work since the beginning. He didn't like/wanted spiting bars against Tyler, but had to do what he did in that song because of Tyler's double role and standard. He never apologised, nor he said SORRY. He just made it clear why he replied Tyler in his song. That's it !
He literally never apologized to that dude, he apologized for slandering an entire group of people by saying it. But I guess if Tyler is a part of said community then in a way he sorta did apologize to him.
I have always loved Eminem's music, regardless of all drama about bad albums and whatever, he has definitely been a source of inspiration for the music that I create, I have enough self restraint to make the choice that the world doesn't need negative music and I don't want to give the impression that I'm a bad person for the dark subject matter in some of my tracks but I need to say that if it wasn't for Eminem's music that I wouldn't have been able to express what goes on in my head, but those tracks I keep private and I don't share them with the world, for example, I don't post them on soundcloud or any sort of social media, whether that's youtube, or any other outlets like that, just because I don't want to give a bad example of who I am or what I believe in.
If Tyler really respected Em as a friend, he would have just told him in privately when they hung out. Not make a huge announcement to the world. He had to have known Em was going to say something eventually. Isn’t that one of the reasons why Em was on of Tyler’s Idols? Because Em wouldn’t hold back towards shit? Em is only at fault in a lot of peoples eye’s because the times are different. If we went back 20 years ago and Em said some of the shit he was saying now, people would eat it up. I’m not on anyone’s side, but I feel like saying that should be a no brainer…. 😟
@@roycepierson9297 that's exactly what he calls himself, that's why Em said "I see why you call yourself a f###ot " , he still muted the word on the song and said he shouldn't have put it on the track as in his quest to hurt him, he could be hurting a lot more listeners, people are far to soft nowadays.
No one can win. Can't change or you'll be labeled as a sell out. Can't stay the same or people get bored and then you start getting people calling you a sellout because you're a whatever year old trying to cash in on your early career.
Em was my go to MC when I was a teenager. Like 24/7 Em & D12 albums on repeat. Then I guess growing older you start to realize that he's the god of techniques but his content is mid. Even when he tries the social political stuff, it never hits you like a Kendrick or J Cole track would. I still enjoy a good bar by bar breakdown of any new song Marshall drops, but that's all I listen to... Just one time for the "wow" and then move on to anything else 🤷🏻♂️😔 I don't think Em needs to do it differently. I think his fan base just grew older and might not be too much into his style no more. And teenagers these days are not into Eminem at all 😥
I think its all fair game for both sides. Two men speaking their mind and being vocal about their feelings. It's okay. Sometimes people get hurt. Sometimes we say things we don't mean, sometimes we say things we mean and regret them later. It's just part of life. I do feel like both Em and Tyler have love for each other at the end of the day though. Wouldn't be surprised if they collab at some point one day.
I liked some of the songs on Revival because they were human as fuck. It's easier to appreciate the artistry in a project without the bias goggles of being a long-time super-fan used to one style. Anyone who hated Walk on Water either isn't an artist and can't relate ipso facto isn't the target audience for it, or is an artist but a narsisistic one. In a profession, any artistic profession, audible or visual, if you don't believe you're the best you'll never be the best. If you don't understand the pressure that comes with, famous or not, then you don't need to be knocking that track. That track hit me HARD. I'm a visual artist by profession and I feel that impostor syndrome and blank-canvas syndrome and self-hatred every single day that I don't kill it with a new life-altering piece.
I think it’s the fact that Em probably has his opinions too but doesn’t come out and publicly trash someone else’s work, like Joe and Tyler did. I think if Tyler didn’t like the shit, he has the right to say what he wants, but he’s also free to keep it to himself. If Em came out and said Tyler’s album was trash, that would hurt.
He beat Em?, how, he trashed Em's music in Twitter right after Em had him on tour with him and Royce, Conway and D12, so Em threw jabs at him and Earl on Fall but said in the interview that even though he muted the word he shouldn't have said it. Rihanna was the only one to get an apology for a track leaking that he said he shouldn't have made. Tyler likes licking puke off of pavements so he's not beating anyone in a lyrical track for track.
"Who took home the W?" This is what's wrong with a LOT of things today. NOBODY took a "W" or an "L" in this because it wasn't a competition. They're two adults. Two successful artists. They had an argument and then solved it. Not every situation in life is about winning or losing.

Em now isnt really pushing for the sake of hiphop anymore, he just pushing for clout.
@@IVIUT3D a lot of people simply missed the more intricate things, for example, chloraseptic is very often criticised for the flow fighting the beat but he makes it very clear at the start that he is riding the high-hats
People in the U.S weren't ready hear that they have to work together to fix their problems. But it performed par for the course everywhere else and was the best selling album Christmas time in the U.K 2017
Oh you THINK THAT’S the issue people had with Revival?😂😂😂 oooooh buddy buddy BUDDY! That ain’t it chief
The reason it’s hated on is due to the PRODUCTION. Which, in turn, severely affected Eminem’s lyrics. Was the message there? Yes. However, due to Eminem playing off what he got from the terrible production and mixing, people couldn’t hear the message
And at that point, it doesn’t matter what he was saying. Cuz to anyone outside of Eminem’s fan base, it’s UNLISTENABLE
Nobody complained about Eminem attacking social issues
In fact he should do that MORE. The problem was the production which in turn affected the lyrics. Em writes not only to be complex, but to play off the feeling he gets FROM the beats
If you rap over terrible production, what do you think happens to the lyricism when you’re playing off of that?
Kamikaze had a ton of the production that woulda changed the Revival album for the better
@@amanSpawn00 even if the beats were all terrible, the worst it can get from bad beats alone is 8/10
Sadly most fans don't understand the origin of beats in rap and that many beats were made to be unlistenable to push away casual listeners when discussing serious topics
Shady XV has some really great tracks on it. Its a good album in my opinion.
Same
Is that the beat from Illuminate by Ab-soul. Ft. Kendrick Lamar in the background? 😳 9:42
He knew he was wrong, but I don’t think he would’ve apologized to anyone. Tyler definitely has respect for sure
8:45 is probably what you're looking for.
🙏 My man
He also apologized to Rihanna because a old song where he says stuff about her got leaked
That's it !
Um what? What are you talking about?
@@assassin8636the truth lol
imagine calling someone out for quitting drugs
Hell yea great work man! I love relapse. Probably because I like Shady more than Eminem by far.
He literally never apologized to that dude, he apologized for slandering an entire group of people by saying it. But I guess if Tyler is a part of said community then in a way he sorta did apologize to him.
Eminem apologized for something he knew he should’ve, Tyler is stating honest opinions, that’s it
When did he apologize tho
EMINEM Definitely my top 5 because he works so hard but he needs more Dr Dre melman and 45 king production thats the Eminem i miss
lots of people hate revival and relapse I liked those albums tbh
I really like that photo at the end where Em is flipping off like a cool guy and Tyler's just got Heinz
Revival was, and is not bad. River is a beautiful song that has a beautiful message and wordplay that is incredibly unappreciated.
Relax guys I like gay men right Ken gimme an Amen😂
Amennn
Tyler didnt make em apologize em felt bad for dissing him😂
Em apologized on Iggy too. As Em fan, he was wrong about that Rape bar.
just because you like him doesn't mean you have to like every thing he produces lmao, Tyler is just sincere, not "two faced"
very well made! i love it
Those who hate Em publicly… secretly love him
Tyler publicly said that he loves Em and said Em is a inspiration, don't talk ever again please.
LMAOOO 2:30 WHAT SONG IS this💀💀💀😭
Tron Cat - Tyler.
Maybe you found it/don’t care anymore by the time I wrote this. But just putting it out there
I have always loved Eminem's music, regardless of all drama about bad albums and whatever, he has definitely been a source of inspiration for the music that I create, I have enough self restraint to make the choice that the world doesn't need negative music and I don't want to give the impression that I'm a bad person for the dark subject matter in some of my tracks but I need to say that if it wasn't for Eminem's music that I wouldn't have been able to express what goes on in my head, but those tracks I keep private and I don't share them with the world, for example, I don't post them on soundcloud or any sort of social media, whether that's youtube, or any other outlets like that, just because I don't want to give a bad example of who I am or what I believe in.
Once you make "fuck you" money, you can make whatever album you want. He did just that. I respect it.
Nah Tyler is like that best friend that's gonna tell you when you're just being thirsty and lowering your standards that's all.
He didnt make Em apologize, he just made em overreact and tweak out on him, feel bad and offer a retraction later
ye he also said in the interview on sway that he basically liked earl and tyler
If Tyler really respected Em as a friend, he would have just told him in privately when they hung out. Not make a huge announcement to the world. He had to have known Em was going to say something eventually. Isn’t that one of the reasons why Em was on of Tyler’s Idols? Because Em wouldn’t hold back towards shit? Em is only at fault in a lot of peoples eye’s because the times are different. If we went back 20 years ago and Em said some of the shit he was saying now, people would eat it up. I’m not on anyone’s side, but I feel like saying that should be a no brainer…. 😟
Dude Tyler is a kid he was doing what kids do
@@thestonecanoe3159 bro at that time he was like 26, not a kid at all
"did Tyler get what he deserved by dissing eminem"
Bro em called him a literal slur 💀nobody deserves that shit
Well I’m pretty sure they made up
@@BarbaraSanchezz No, Eminem actually said the slur.
@@roycepierson9297 that's exactly what he calls himself, that's why Em said "I see why you call yourself a f###ot " , he still muted the word on the song and said he shouldn't have put it on the track as in his quest to hurt him, he could be hurting a lot more listeners, people are far to soft nowadays.
you can and should keep crying about it
Cry about it
Idk if its just me but the 2 Ofended song on the album revival is one of my favourite songs he has
2:04 that album was unreleased songs or different versions of his songs.
I still don't understand why nobody want their favourite artists to grow
I mean they've to, there's nothing they can do
No one can win. Can't change or you'll be labeled as a sell out. Can't stay the same or people get bored and then you start getting people calling you a sellout because you're a whatever year old trying to cash in on your early career.
Tyler da one going backwards
Em was my go to MC when I was a teenager. Like 24/7 Em & D12 albums on repeat.
Then I guess growing older you start to realize that he's the god of techniques but his content is mid. Even when he tries the social political stuff, it never hits you like a Kendrick or J Cole track would.
I still enjoy a good bar by bar breakdown of any new song Marshall drops, but that's all I listen to... Just one time for the "wow" and then move on to anything else 🤷🏻♂️😔
I don't think Em needs to do it differently. I think his fan base just grew older and might not be too much into his style no more. And teenagers these days are not into Eminem at all 😥
Those 2 guys you mentioned look up to Eminem. He's going down as one of the GOATs.
@@milaninter2442 he didn't say they didn't or he isn't?
@@Antwannnn Okay?
@@milaninter2442 okay? sooo wtf was the point in bringing it up? Get Ems balls out your mouth for just sec

Tyler should feel very honored the only person to ever get a real apology from eminem
Tyler saying in the same interview that he wants the old em marshal Mathers lp em then continues with going back is the grossed thing ever lol
I didn't care about anything in this vid, but Eminem apologising to an OG Rapper...Now that's respect.
Tyler Create-Nothin'... Brutal diss... Sack-religious... ✌️😎👍
Holy crap I just caught that
I think it’s the fact that Em probably has his opinions too but doesn’t come out and publicly trash someone else’s work, like Joe and Tyler did. I think if Tyler didn’t like the shit, he has the right to say what he wants, but he’s also free to keep it to himself. If Em came out and said Tyler’s album was trash, that would hurt.
I HATE CANCEL CULTURE
If it were a thing, it would work, and it'd be shown very clearly
Tyler, the only person who beat eminem.
@@allygraham7454 he won because he simply expressed his opinion and didn’t pay no mind when Em got mad over it. Y’know, like how Slim used to do it?
not Eminem stans tryna defend him in the comments💀
bro did you see the guy who wrote a whole movie script defending him? like, why take so much time of your life
Defending him from what exactly ?
3:44 Tyler is so insightful. I suspect this new Eminem project is him moving forward and finally neutralizing Slim Shady.
