As for my quick thoughts. I love the widescreen so I can see further ahead, the addition of the spin dash is a life-saver, being able to turn the flashing lights off in Sky Base will be a great pleasure for some people, and the great amount of characters to choose from and their added abilities adds to the replay value. My main gripe is the frame rate only being at 30fps and even then, I’m pretty sure it’s not constant. I wish there was an option to change the OST to the FM version of the game (the Japanese had an FM chip in their SMS systems and there’s a Sonic 1 8-bit ROM modification by ValleyBell to use this chip). And the physics engine can definitely do with a bit of tweaking but otherwise, it undeniably has a lot of determination put into it, and there are more updates to come. I look forward to seeing the future progress of this fan game.

Actually, those Tails sprites aren't from Chaos or Triple Trouble, they actually appear to be brand new sprites based on the Mega Drive games! That's awesome!

Nice, been playing this recently personally too, though that controller hitbox could be huger TBH if anything as I've had too many moments when I've supposed to be holding a direction on the Pad only for it to JUST not be hitting the control pad at all.
Also there's a neat glitch where if you fall off a platform without jumping, you can jump in the air, which makes for USEFUL shortcut strats in Jungle Zone.
For anyone else playing this, PREPARE TO DIE A LOT in Jungle Zone Act 1 from the slow water controls which affects momentum jumping out of water at the worst possible times... Also WATCH OUT saving ONLY happens on the completion of ACT 3s!
PS: There is a Sonic 2 8-bit remake too, but it's so WIP that none of the stages are complete yet.
I'm stuck on that level!
I can't wait for the next version of this remake!

I just played this on PC and I didnt really notice the physics were any different.
I love this hack so much and it's thanks to u, RHS! I like this hack because: 1-you need to get emeralds like sonic 1 16-big instead of LOOK FOR EMERALDS!!! 2-SUPER SONIC, 3-a glitch: get hit then defeat a badnik of be super while ur in invisibility frames, ur invisible until you did (drown or bottomless) and, as super, every monitor except for the 1-up will become a ring box!

PC Version just tested, does support keyboard and Xbox One Controller automatically, but as far as I can tell controls are not configurable (tho this being classic Sonic, you only need direction and jump). And you're right redhotsonic, physics feel different, more like a Genesis/MD Sonic game. Not bad, just different.

I almost beat the game and then my parents told to uninstall it because it wasn't from the Play Store and now I feel like a total clown for sinking so many hours into it, getting all the Chaos Emeralds, beating all of the bosses, just to be forced out of it because my parents were afraid that it might have had a virus.

The special stages is like from sonic scorched quest, and the bridge zone can be access in sonic delta 0.71 or 0.72
The Sonic Scorched Quest special stages were inspired by the bonus stages in the 8 bit games
you can use debug mode to turn off bridge zone's autoscroll by using it in there

I have came From the future to say that version 1.0.F will have star light added
In one of the updates instead of the chaos emeralds in Sonic 1 SMS remake their are time attacks instead to unlocked the Characters in 1.0.alpha 1.0.final, in 1.0.F they had FM music you can turn it on and off, and tails is unlocked from the start, in the older versions 0.1 was sonic chaos.
You can play as tails in sonic 2 just go down to options at the start menu like your entering a code go to player select, you can play as tails he just can't fly

All you have to do is go to google then put SMS SONIC 1 then click the first link then download in the same page where you get it theres also a page on how to get debug mode just press the mega drive D pad

Me: You can also Peelout and drop dash so what you need to do and also it works for sonic 1 and 2 so what you really need to do is jump and press the jump button again and while doing that hold the button if you hear the sound which is the charge up sound you did it correctly now keep holding jump and keep holding jump while you are in the ground and what will happen is that you will keep rolling in the direction you are facing but for me it is right ➡️ and then if you do it over and over again you will go fast just be cautious while doing this okay? And that is how you do it I even managed to beat underground zone in sonic 2 without even kissing the 0 goodbye but I did kiss the special stage and the emerald goodbye because I didn't get fifty rings but even then I still enjoyed doing it but it is sonic exclusive and nobody else but it is still enjoyable and oh and the drop dash is a sonic exclusive and nobody else so that is how you can drop dash and how it is used and now I will keep watching so goodbye and stay safe!

I've always wondered, was it so hard to include supersonic in original sonic games for the master system? was it due to technical limitations or was it a tactic for people to buy the Sega Genesis?

Hmm this looks rather incredible for a somewhat sort of hd remake of 8 bit sonic 1 form the sega master system and also the game gear too its the same game on both systems btw but yeah im a big fan of yours red hot sonic your a funny guy when it comes to the sonic content on your channel but yeah also theirs a game called red hot sonic 2 have you played it before becuase if not can you please play it please ive tried playing it before on my computer before it was playable but it was a little hard to master it but yeah other then that thats nice that this game allows you to play as tails and knuckes too and also getting the emeralds in the special stages and also getting to be super sonic in the game is a double plus for me then also quick question for you what do you think about the new sonic movie ?
