  • This Manduka yoga mat is designed for travelers, and for the last 10 years of me owning it I have taken it with me hitchhiking, road tripping, van dwelling, and backpacking. It works well for this because of how light it is and how thin and durable it is. My favorite thing about this mat is how grippy the material is. It would work great even for hot yoga. The downside of this mat is just how thin it is, at only 1.5mm thick it doesn't offer much cushion for your knees or sitting bones and so it requires a soft surface underneath or a high tolerance for uncomfort.

I had the Jade travel mat and it lasted a year or so as it is quite thin and therefore easier to get holes after repeated impact. Nice to know there is a mat out there that will hopefully be a better investment.

Hi! I just received mine and have used 5-6xs, primarily during hot yoga. However, I find during my last class, I was slipping like crazy! I mean, I sweat profusely, but nothing had changed during my last class. Anything I could try? Do you think I could try salting it to see if it gets the grip back? Thanks to a fellow Ontarian😊

Yes try salting it, but most hot yoga is tough for any mat to handle. The more you use it the more it will break in, it could just be too new still

@@ForrestReviews mine slipped too. I thought we don’t need break it in 😢. It is fine if dry hands and feet. However it kept slipping which I’m disappointed 😢

@@avelye5200manuduka sells small (and full mat sized) yoga towel for extra grip when used in wet/sweaty conditions. This type of mat has best grip when dry, you need open cell mat for sweaty situations. On their website it specifies which mats are open (grip improves when wet) and which are close (more hygienic) cells mats. The anti slip towels will probably solve your problem.
