People say that about every young player that does well in a tournament, without seeing a single shot, and then extrapolate the performance as if you're guaranteed progress with time. If he already peaked you won't. Time will tell.
@@Postermaestro I've seen moths bouncing against windows for hours implement higher degrees of rational reasoning that you just did. That might have been the dumbest thing I've read since I picked up an Ayn Rand book.
LOve watching Central Coast coverage and Nate & Connor nail the commentary... love their smooth delivery and insights. Such a welcome change from LIVE commentary.
For some reason this coverage brought me back to when I first found dg on youtube in 2017/18. Buttery smooth commentary, beautiful course and amazing plays all around. Fun that discgolf is growing but it’s this vibe that really made me fall in love with the sport all those years ago. Great job CCDG and huge shoutout to Nate and Connor in the booth.
Same here. I started watching disc golf about 2 weeks before Philos famous shot on this course. That BSF was the first tournament that I was following along with as it was happening. So now every time BSF rolls around or any time someone mentions the albatross it makes me reflect on my own disc golf journey. It's pretty awesome man, and spending a couple weeks out in that area and playing all of the courses are near the top of my bucket list.
nate perkins has really grown on me and started to come into his own as a commentator in disc golf. I remember watching him on gatekeeper and hearing him be a little bit nervous and not have as smooth a call as some of the other dudes who've been doing it longer. But as I've been watching all of this Silver Series coverage Nate has had a fantastic appreciation for nature, an incredibly genuine and honest expression of his authentic emotions in the moment, all with the technical knowledge and historical context to create a fantastic experience for all viewers of the sport. Bravo Nate. Bravo.
Absolutely loving the return of Silver Series to Central Coast this season, with these two on the mic. Such a vibe, this is why I love watching disc golf even though I've never played. My favorite coverage this season.
Somebody said it earlier, but Central Coast does the best intro... the way y'all make the throw hit the same time as the first dropped beat is so dynamic and what should be the industry standard. So cool. Great coverage, best catch-cam for real, and I LOVE hearing Nate Perkins, a pro's pro, commenting. Conor O is okay (imho), but Nate is the kind of player I aspire to be, calm, enjoying other player's success, and able to play FH & BH. Hearing the actual wonder from Nate when the top-5 distance throwers blow it out is awesome. Huge kudos to Andrew Pressnell, not the top-5 distance guy, for playing light's-out and keeping pace as much as can be done w/o throwing 600'. So dang inspiring! Great job! ❤ As always, huge thanks to CC for sharing an amazing tourney with the rest of the world. Big Love!
@@thejesusandmannychain95 And? It could be figured out. It's a course that many people, fans and pro players alike, love to play every year, and it attracts pretty much all the top talent, except for a few who don't want to bother with Silver events anymore.
This content from Central Coast Disc Golf is the best disc golf tournament coverage on RUclips to date. Congratulations to everyone involved in creating this phenomenal coverage of the Beaver State Fling, both MPO and FPO divisions.
Nuts round, awesome coverage- both commentary and filming. I enjoyed all the players effort and game- Congrats to Presnell for staying with the big guns and well deserved "W" Eagle :)
The reaction of the kid in the stroller to Eagles's over-the-tree shot @ 23:31 is PRICELESS! He's looking back at Eagle with those eyes saying "You know cameraman Dave is my Uncle right? #GRENADEHEADCONCUSSION 🤣
Thanks to Jethro Tull, I mean Ian Anderson, for making so much talent look so good. Very impressive shooting and editing by your team. These disc golf dudes can HUCK. Shout out to Prezzy playing his own game and executing so well. It's not surprising to see Eagle and Vinny at the top but Prezzy is proving he can perform at the elite level too. Congrats to all. Sheldon Washington will look very dull compared to Estacada. Not the same category of quality.
I love how Eagle forehand form is so good and smooth, that the commentators, who are professional disc golfers, think it's a "smooth lay-up" and then it's really a 400 ft hyzer.
That was me in the maroon shirt. This shot was insane. Only Gannon had one anywhere near this spot all weekend. We were behind the gallery line as well.
Nate and Connor have similar enough voices that it can be hard to distinguish them sometimes, but I think Connor has really good commentary that brings some really light handed critical analysis of player decisions and performance that previous commentators were too soft to provide. He’s new to me as a player last year, but tbh this was one of the best commentary performances I’ve heard all year across all platforms.
Great coverage by CCDG, but did it strike anyone else as weird that no other players seemed to congratulate Eagle after his final putt? Maybe it happened off camera after he got the trophy? I wasn't there so I don't know.
Matty O won more money at an A-Tier in Tallahassee against lesser competition and less people than Eagle won at a DGPT event. Kind of embarrassing. Should be 5k standard 1st place for tour event.
Hey, Jason you are correct. Garrett and his brothers were tykes when I first saw them in Gainesville fetching plastic and running around the course( late 80's).Good to see him still kicking some ass. These holes are double the length ( or more ) we played back then.Awesome display. Congrats to all who put this together! RAS2995
I don't understand how eagle looks like he is barely using any power when he throws most of his shots but they still go 450ft when anyone else would go 300ft throwing the way he does. It is so effortless for him. That forehand on 18 looked like he was laying up and he just bullseye it
@@JacobWarwick sorry yes 550+! But that's the thing about him though! Like he'll throw 550 and it looks like he is using about 50% power! He doesn't have a speedy or boost style run-up! He doesn't swing his arms much! He just kinda takes a few steps twists his body and then the disc always seems to fly further than EVERYONE! Like Double G for example... when he wants to bomb he takes multiple extra steps, he really gets his whole body into it... but for eagle, it always seems like his routine is EXACTLY THE SAME whether he's throwing a 200' upshot or a 550+ foot BOMB! One of the few times I've seen him TRULY LOAD UP FOR A MONSTER SHOT WAS WHEN HE THREW THAT 770' shot against Calvin when he parked it under the basket! WHERE DOES IT ALL COME FROM SINCE IT LOOKS LIKE HE IS JUST TRYING TO THROW 200'???!!!
Yeah, it's really something to see his putt immediately followed by Calvin's. GG's putt has two fundamental defects: It adds distance to his lie, since it travels in an arc, and it makes the target smaller because of the angle upon which it's traveling. Compared to Calvin's putt, which is one of the most consistent putts in terms of form and shape, and you immediately see how many variables GG has to account for on a single shot compared to Calvin.
This isn't the first, & won't be the last time this season we watch Eagle & Calvin battle it out for 1st on the last day of the tournament. These guys are playing way too good, I feel like they're both there every weekend.
So you saw no difference in the flight path of presnell and the other 3 guys? I wasn't making fun. I was happy to see a guy on the final card that doesn't have a 500 foot heifer flip.

What’s better than watching top pros shred through colossal Doug Fir and Ponderosa Pine stands in the forests of Endor? Pretty much nothing on this glorious morning. Thanks for the coverage, guys! I love this place. I’m curious, after Andrew Presnell played a conservative upshot rather than running a potentially risky C2, you said, “he understands how valuable those pro tour points are and what a good finish can do for your season.” So, do you not think the main reason for this decision to lay up (and certainly worth mentioning if you’re going to speak on the subject) here was money? Correct me if I’m wrong but as I understand it, these guys can’t afford hotel rooms every night and largely rely on friendly hosts w free couches. I highly doubt tour points drove that particular decision. And we see this a lot. Players are often far more concerned with keeping a top 10 rather than going for the win with riskier play. Hopefully just growing pains of an emerging entity.
I hate to say, because i think Connor seems like a great kid and is a good commentator, other than sometimes over-speaking, but i can't unhear nor get over the way he whistles every time he says a word with the letter "s" in it
