I'm a professional videographer/photographer doing commercial work mostly. I do a lot of drone work for my business. I have to commend you on your excellent drone work for this coverage! There are a ton of disc golf coverage media companies out there, and most hole previews are almost unwatchable they are so bad. A great hole flyover is one that you aren't being distracted by the jerky movements of the drone, but are focused on the beauty of the course and what challenges the hole has to offer. In other words... buttery smooth! Excellent work Central Coast! Disc Golf!

I thought at first that the ob was too much and the course should use the natural ob, but after watching, my mind has changed. This is a great way to make the game more challenging for the elite players, which is one thing a lot of people felt should happen. Makes the players really think about their shots and disc selections before throwing. Loved this tournament, and thanks for the coverage.

Winthrop is the home of the Stupid Invisible Out Of Bounds Rope Line. Someone should take away the course designer's rope budget and tie his hands behind his back with it. There will be plenty of players shooting "dagger looks" at that guy for a while. Deservedly so.

However, it is Iconic, the players still think it's Iconic and is arguably their most important tourney. He asked and I answered. Also, the players know where every single inch of OB is at Winthrop, don't kid yourself.
In my opinion, there is too much OB on this course, I think around the greens it should play as hazard and do away with the drop zones. Overall as a course, you all would cream your pants to play at a place like this. Don't play the MPO course tho. There's a beginner and advanced course as well

There are several unseeable OB lines at Winthrop. Go watch one whole round again and pay attention. Over a hill. Basket barely visible, rope lines invisible. The long one that starts next to the right-side hedge line. They also change a lot of the OB every year. You've been playing and watching for 3 years so now you're an expert? Dude, get over yourself.

How did they screw up such an amazing property. OB everywhere. 15' from the edge of a creek, OB 12' from a basket. OB long for no reason. OB in the trees for no reason. A complete lack of creativity IMO. If you land on the bank of a creek the footing is the hazard and will probably cost you a stroke anyway. Player goes OB 15' long of the basket, other player hits an early tree 250' from the basket. Both have to play from the same drop zone. So lame. OB so close to the baskets on mounds is even dumber.

    • @kimmomatikainen1843
      @kimmomatikainen1843 Год назад

This was expected now that field is getting better and better. it's not Paul and Ricky battle anymore. If first 4 cards are 3-5 shots apart, 4th card player has identical chance to win as 1st card player. They start the round from the same result.
2nd card players don't have the lead card pressure and 3rd card doesn't even have a camera pressure so basically they might have an advantage.
Let's say leader is -20, 2nd is -18, 3rd is -16 and Gannon, Calvin or someone really good is on the 3rd card with result -15, it would not be a big surprise if Calvin or Gannon would play a hot round of -16 and wins.
This is going to happen more and more often, almost inevitable. There used to be 2-5 people who won almost everything. Now there is 15-20 players who can win. Also course design on some courses don't have enough score separators. Too many holes have high % of birdies or pars so a lot of players get the same hole results and it means close scoring.

From the couch, I disliked nearly all the holes here but not necessarily because of all the ridiculous OB and hazards. Just a lot of bad ideas piled on top of one another. This is the kind of track and setup that makes people NOT want to play, I would think. Seems like an amazing property though, too bad.
Footage was up to specs but the commentary was sleepy. Hey I just call it the way I see it. Where’s Ian?

“Call it the way it is”…. you should stop making calls then.

Are you a call monitor? I actually wrote, “I call it like I see it”, not “I call it like it is” but at this point we’re just splitting hairs. Really, I just called to say, “I love you.”

Im sorry I know how good these guys are this course is just way too penal there is no way these guys love playing here. Needs a major overhaul IMO to keep a tour spot. Not fun!

I wouldn't say major, I'd think just turn some of the OB into hazard around the greens and do away with all the drop zones. This would save everyone a couple strokes a round and make it more enjoyable/ attackable and more fun to watch

Hey man… please stop standing directly behind the basket when people are putting. Get to the side, get behind them, never be right behind the basket. There were multiple times you almost got hit by a missed putt. Document the game, don’t affect it.

The point was to make the OB more stupid and punitive than his other course: Winthrop.
