Good to hear Paavo on the mic again. I used to watch his Pure Hyper Productions coverage from Central California back in the day. Did a lot of local Nikko coverage back then. I think I saw that he's doing camera duty for Ian on CCDG. Always like Connor's commentary too.
Why is this a Silver Series, I don't know. Course is beautiful and brutal (maybe a bit too much in some areas). The main point is it doesn't necessarily favor any one style and it was, so far this year, the best one to watch. More chase card shenanigans, again, too.
Seems like commentator is deriding course design when he says, “oh yeah, I forgot to mention ob long as well on this hole.” I get it, some of the holes are punishing. Definitely move ob on 17 and 18, and here and there, but a lot of it I’m totally okay with. This is real golf. Stop whining. Time to elevate the sport, and I really enjoyed this course helping bring the scores back to earth. Nothing wrong with that!
Hey fellas! Regarding Kyles thumb movement,… I grew up bowling, and that is what we would call “making line adjustments”. Meaning you will make adjustments at the foul line according to the way your body feels during your approach. I do the same thing while playing disc
As to your point about the rocks discussed on hole 1, I feel that the rocks should be spaced about 10 to 15 ft back from each of the holes they are on, acting more like knee high guardian trees as to the way they are positioned today as more a backboard where players can just shoot from one angle at best and using the rocks as a backboard…. Just my .02 cents. :). But overall, I hope to one day drive down from Canada, to play this course as it’s stunning. :)
27:04 The relevant rules to consider are 803.02B and 802.05A, the latter of which I presume was the case here. While I think Paavo is a great commentator, I would humbly suggest his take on the "so-called rule of verticality" is not quite correct. A playing surface can be the top of a rock and can be a legitimate lie if it is directly above the area that is 20cm x 30cm directly behind the disc.
@@davycrocket4858 Paavo Stubstad. He used to do his own shooting and commenting on Pure Hyper Productions about 6 or 7 years ago. His channel is still up.
@@JohnBell3 That's cool. To each his own. I just find him to be boorish, annoying, and he also has a really gooberish announcing tone. Loved it when Paavo filled in for him - he did a fine job.
Why does the term "diamond frame" sound so dumb to me? Only other commentator I hear use it is Nathan Queen and it just doesnt sound right lol if your going to be so logical then I guess you cant call a gimmie putt a "tap-in" because hey I mean they aren't tapping the disc. I guess maybe the disc taps the chains? But then some players can tap-in from 30ft while others jam a ten footer. Why is it a "tee pad" are these guys planting their foot on a golf tee or something? Maybe it will stick and I'll get used to it but for some reason, me no likey.
Thanks for the laugh, when he called Harper, Hunter... (like S. Thompson) and then like a minute later, they are talking about Calvin finally being able to relieve himself... hilarious!
I feel like that drainage ditch being the fairway on hole 3 is kind of awkward and poorly designed. If your reward for throwing an accurate shot is to face and awkward sloped run up full of rocks it seems wrong.
Paavo brought out the energy in Connor finally!! really nice flow with this commentary pairing no offense but nate and connor were putting me to sleep a little lol
Production value is so high in this video and all your production. But pleeease, how can very good shots not be repeated immediately? As in 12:20 or 20:10? Thanks for the coverage anyway! Greetings from Germany
Okay... enough with the "diamond frame" stuff guys. It's a "star frame", the term has been very much established. This nonsense about 4 points is kind of embarrassing. Have you ever seen an uncut diamond? They have no established shape, and our star, the sun is a sphere, and most stars we see in the sky are whole galaxies... so just stop it. Star frame won the competition for 4 players getting birdies on one hole. That's it.
I love Nate and know he is only trying to be the best possible ambassador for the sport but his monotonous whispering "ball golf" commentator voice puts me to sleep. This was an excellent duo and hit a perfect combination of entertaining while also maintaining a "corporate" professionalism to push the sport forward. Great coverage as always. I would love to see a little more character from Nate we know he has it.
Can disc golf sponsors stop letting their players wear little shorts and ankle socks....AB looked hilarious in his swim shorts at the Music City Open and now we got Thompson wearing tiny pink shorts...come on DISC GOLF INDUSTRY...WAKE UP....Your players look ridiculous out there! There are only a few PRO disc golfers who look PRO, all the others look like crap in their stupid outfits.
Is that Seth Rogen on commentary?
I was just about to type that!
💀💀💀
Yes
I laughed so hard at this. Yes it's Seth, thank you.
Definitely
B-roll of the B-roll!? That's meta as fuck!
I miss Pure Hyzer Productions vids so much. I hope all is well PHP.
Is that Calvin’s brother??
Alvin?
Face kinda looks like Joel freeman
It’s his uncle on his father’s side

Heck yeah, big fan of Paavo and PHP.

More chase card shenanigans, again, too.
I think it's mainly due to cell signals and areas designated for spectators
Ugh! Didn't want to upvote - we were at a perfect "666." But I gotta give the ups to the OG CCDG. 😆❤️
Seth Rogan with the color commentary, nice!
I love hole nine, it’s super high level. Good for these guys to show their skill.
Paavo - true legend in disc golf coverage. Just hyped to listen to him again after such a long time
Paavo! Where in the wide world of sports of you been? I've been missing you on the mic
It's Conner O'Reilly and Paavo Stubstad on commentary.
Seems like commentator is deriding course design when he says, “oh yeah, I forgot to mention ob long as well on this hole.”

When did Seth Rogan start disc golf commentating? 🤣

Excellent course and commentary
Fantastic coverage! Who’s filling in for Nate on the commentary?
Seth Rogan of course

@@marscruz makes sense, he does seem pretty hyper
Dang, that Thompson and Heimburg could be related, bothers even! Same hair similar face build, ish body type! Sacry if they are not! :D
I noticed that at 1:35, and then they started to move almost in sync. That's scary.
@@Qcn0xa Yeah, its like a glitch in the matrix! :D

Better than Perkins by far. Perkins is awful behind the mic.

Yeah it’s stupid
Good commentary. Kept it cringe free.
So excited to hear Pavo!
Thanks for the laugh, when he called Harper, Hunter... (like S. Thompson) and then like a minute later, they are talking about Calvin finally being able to relieve himself... hilarious!
This is a very beautiful course!
I love the hole layout with the drone flyover. Much more informative.
Been waiting all day 4 this
Please don't have the spotters pulling a color guard show ever again lol

great coverage!
I remember beating Harper one time in a tournament... Disregard the fact that he was 13 at the time.
Look at those ppl standing in the hyser line next to the basket when Williams is throwing from the tee at 2.
These OB lines don't make sense. The wind is brutal
Kyle has that killer look in his eye 😳
Conor on hole 2. Wow. Good shooting, man.
Calvin's lil brother is on lead card too?
Need this dropped sooner please😂
Is that Calvins little brother? 😅
18:51 I mean..... common.... cringe
Was it hot? What is Bradley Williams pregame warmup like? Why he soaked in sweat on the first tee?
best left to our imagination
Good to see Bradley finished his triathlon and was still able to compete.
Terrible hole design when everyone just throws at a gutter...... I really think this course is poorly designed when considering 3 among others....

Amazing intro!
The porch is actually the property owner's house! Such an awesome guy ❤❤❤
So good to hear from Paavo again! Loved Pure Hyzer Productions and his insight.
Wow Connor. How did you ever get Seth Rogen to do color on this broadcast? You must have offered him something he likes. 😆
Uncanny
If Harper grew out his hair and short shorts, he would look just like a Calvin mini me.
Thanks for the coverage!
The ad timing is terrible
WNC Discgolf member Monster with a cameo!
Time stamp?
Anybody know what kyle flicked on his approach on 8
Either a beat-in Tactic or Logic. He has them both in blue. Unbelievable shot.
This course..........
Finally...........
Why is jomez not involved anymore?
Jomez didn’t cover the tournament this weekend, they don’t cover all the silver series events. This tournament was covered by Centeral Coast Disc Gold
Thanks!

Here’s a 5 sided Diamond 💎
Here’s a 4 sided star ✨
Both are interchangeable
Star frame won forever ago
Again, the PD is 10 speed, not 9 😅
10, 4, 0, 3😁 my favorite disc ever.

Maybe it is just me, but I prefer Sexton, Jerm, and Uli on the commentary.
Disc golf tournament / homeless drug encampment.
Oh look! A 5 sided Diamond 💎
And look again! A 4 sided star✨
Both can be 5 and 4 sided. I love the coverage but stop craping on disc golf tradition
Not a fan of the monotone commentators.
Hole 3. First 3 players in drainage yet commentators said nothing and kept talking what interested them. Get a play by play guy like Ian.

Honestly I think the spotters running across the green like on hole 5 is almost as bad
I do not care about that at all, I feel like more people are like me than you. Would love to be corrected if that's not the case though lol
