I suggest the next song by Band Maid is "Domination", the official live video then jump to their most recent official music video, "Shambles" to see how far Band Maid has in their TEN EARS TOGETHER. I'm an old man and I have seen A LOT of rock and roll. In my opinion this the best hard rock band I have seen in many decades. You CANNOT pigeonhole this band. Kanami, their lead guitarist and composer of all their music is a genius. The can bend any rock genre to her will often in one song.
This is very old and the MV is the one that saved the band's contract with their production company. Saiki is the lead singer and Miku is rhythm guitar and backup singer and SHE is the one who started the band. Watch any of their newer live performances and you'll realize how much better they are now. They're an incredible live band.
The band was actually formed by the rhythm guitarist Miku Kobato who worked in a maid cafe. They formed in 2013. They are now the greatest hard rock/ metal band in the world.
@rogerchance9074 Ok Roger wait for it. We all know how near you are to me (he says in a gruff, manly voice) so your anagram nickname shall be the "G. Encroacher".😆🍻
Band-Maid satisfies all my musical cravings. Between Band-Maid, Band-Maiko, Cluppo, or the occasional acoustic performance, all my intellectual and emotional desires are met.Thank you for your review. It was pleasant to watch.
The lead singer Saiki didn't start the band. She was actually the last one to join. The band was founded by the rhythm guitarist / back-up singer / 2nd lead singer Miku.
Sugoi! Excellent reaction. If you continue to react to BAND-MAID, this might be the last time you see the bass player, Misa, a.k.a. "The Barefooted Assassin," wearing shoes! This is a very special band. Super talented and egoless, they mix pop, punk, rock, and metal and are often referred to as a musician's band due to their mastery of their instruments, songwriting abilities, and their stage performances. BAND-MAID refers to their fans as "Masters & Princesses" and their concerts as "servings." Kanami "Mincho" Tono (lead guitarist) is a prolific songwriter and initially writes songs by piano, her 1st instrument. My BAND-MAID playlist has 100+ songs, and all are worthy of unending listens. I've seen them twice in the last 15 months, and they are so much fun, inserting short interludes referred to as "Omajinai Time" and "Japanese Lesson Time." Imho, BAND-MAID is not the best all-female or the best Japanese band. They are the best band on the planet. Period. More please! Arigatou! 🤘🤘 #SurrenderLove #ShareHappyLetsDance
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive 10 year back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and bad-ass musicians to boot. They are currently celebrating their 10th anniversary with the original line up. This was their first ever MV, they can come a long way since then! Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. The idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

These ladies are the real deal. They've got a ten-year catalog of great music. Check out something more recent. Influencer is one of my favorites. From Now On is an instrumental, but it will blow you away.
TRIVIA: When this was filmed, Miku's Rickenbacker 620 was just a prop; she couldn't play then, but she can now. Kanami used an Addictone early on, but now uses PRS, with whom she has an endorsement.
Welcome to BAND MAID Songs I recommend BLOOMING; ruclips.net/video/uUt_JBMocKM/видео.html MANNERS/BLACK HOLE live : ruclips.net/video/iaf94nNSRGE/видео.html DAYDREAMING: ruclips.net/video/RCaeUkrItyY/видео.html This song is beautiful FREEDOM: ruclips.net/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/видео.html INFLUENCER: ruclips.net/video/e_bEf1C0spY/видео.html And if you want to know more about them, I recommend this documentary made by fans and where you will know much more about them. There are 7 videos, it is very complete. It may be long but it is very good to start with, sorry for my English as it is not very good. ruclips.net/video/3Mx_rZnqayg/видео.html In the documentary you will understand why their band maid costumes and how incredible their leader and creator of the band is, I will look forward to it and thank you very much for reacting to band maid
Cool reaction. This is the song that saved the band. The girls opted for this song rather than another planned for the MV without knowing that their company had decided this would be their last project. The five of them wanted to play harder rock and they were right. The video went viral in the US and Band Maid was continued. It doesn't compare with their newer stuff - Blooming, Influencer, Black Hole, From Now On, Shambles - but it set the stage for what they would sound like. This and their other early songs were written by others although the girls arranged them. But since 2017 the lead guitar player has written their songs with maximum input from the others. You got to hear them now.
Welcome to the "pigeon" hole..."po"......130 ish great rock songs await you on your journey through Band Maids catalogue.....you will NEVER be disappointed in their uplifting and often energetic music.....there literally no way to choose a suggestion for you....however...."Domination" official live video, or "Moratorium" live video are good next steps.....they truly shine live.....IMHO, they have saved rock n roll....."po"......enjoy
They have contributed to several animes, 3 notable songs Shambles (their newest), Different and Sense. Miku, the rhythm guitarist is the band founder and was originally the vocalist as a four piece but they almost instantly decided they needed another vocalist and Saiki was recruited. The Rickenbacher is simply a pretty stage prop here as Miku could not play guitar when they started but she learnt on the job and is now an excellent rhythm guitarist but now playing Zemaitis guitars ( and she has her own signature model ) on top of her second vocalist duties and lyricist.
This song just hit 20 million views. They have over 100 songs. They recently played the Yokohama arena and performed 33 songs and were on stage for 3 and a half hours. Nemophila is another all girl Japanese band but heavier.
Yes! Just a tiny scratch on the surface of what is now arguably the most accomplished rock band on the planet 🌎. Stay with them and you’ll see. 😮 Congratulations on improving your life immensely by learning about Band-Maid!! 😂 Next - must see LIVE!! - “Domination” - official live video 🔥🔥🔥 Yes, you’ll see what an incredible band the are. They were always good right from the beginning as soon with “Thrill”. But they’ve grown into one of those rare powerhouse bands that only come along every decade or two. This old rocker believes their peers are the greatest bands - The Beatles, Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, Rush, U2, etc. I hope you continue your journey with the Maids - incredible music but an absolute blast of unmitigated JOY, as well. It’s not unusual for Miku, Misa, Akane, Kanami & Saiki to become your favorite rock musicians on the planet 🌏🤷🏻♂️ Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎹🎻🎺😎✌🏼
Miku( vocals and rhythm guitar) was the one who used to work at the maid café , and started the band. One of the oldest songs, and 1 of my favorites, Miku couldn't even really play guitar here, lead guitarist Kanami has helped her learn since. Akane on drums, Saiki on lead vocals. And , if you are bass guitar fans, you are going to love Misa. "Shambles" and "No God" are a couple of the newest songs.
Band-Maid is, as they call themselves, an impossibly hard rocking maid band. They do a lot of different genre's, sometimes in the same song! This song saved the band, literally, as their label had made the decision to drop them, then this song was put on a world internet platform and got 2 million views in two weeks. The label changed their mind, and ten years later we still have the same, generically assembled, awesome band today! No bad songs from from these amazing ladies!
Lovebites is "Metal" and Band-Maid is "Hard Rock/Rock". This is quintessential Band-Maid for anyone wanting to follow them. It's their first video which saved them from obscurity. If this video/song didn't make it, neither did they. It hit over 1mil view on facebok/youtube in a few weeks. Ten years later and they are still together as a band, same original members and just finished their 10th Anniversary Japan/USA tour. New album coming this summer and they just keep getting better. Stay with them because Band-Maid never disappoints.
Good music does not necessarily have to be understandable through words. It speaks to you on so many other levels that you can understand beyond any language barrier. The start of a great journey for these ladies and for me it is THE song that revitalized this genre for me back in 2019 when i found this video by chance here on yt. Since then, this band is the benchmark for me when it comes to rock music and at the same time they have opened up a fantastic new world of music for me. Greetings from Germany _____________________ _"America invented rock. England improved it. And now, Japan has perfected it."_ 🔥🤘🏻 ※ Band-Maid ※ Gacharic Spin ※ Lovebites ※ Nemophila ※ East of Eden ※ Hanabie ※ Asterism ※ Trident ※ etc.
Band Maid started out as a J-Pop band. When their first album didn't get the sales that they expected the management company told them that they wanted to shoot a MV. The band picked Thrill, which was a b-side. At the time the band did not know that the management company was getting ready to cut them lose. The MV was shot with minimal investment, white room, minimal costume changes etc. It was put on YT and they rolled the dice. Somehow YT reactors found the vid and started promoting it. Now it has over 20 million views and the band finished their 10-year anniversary tour. Which the final performance of that tour was attended by Asami, Haruna and Midori from Lovebites. And the ladies from Band Maid are due to record a new album this year. Ok, you have seen Lovebites and now Band Maid. Some other Japanese band recommendations for you: MAXIMUM THE HORMONE - Yoshu Fukushu They are VERY influential in Japan. Band Maid's drummer, Akane Hirose, did not know girls were allowed to play rock drums until she saw Nao from MTH play. BabyMetal - Give Me Chocolate They are HUGE in the Japanese music scene. Hanabie (Ha-Na-Be-eh) - We Love Sweets They are an all female harajuku Metalcore band that will blow your mind, they also started out as a MAXIMUM THE HORMONE cover band in high school. Nemophila - Dissension Another all female metal band on par with Lovebites. Unlucky Morpheus - CADAVER/REVADAC They play the song CADAVER, then play it backwards note for note REVADAC. They have a heavy metal violinist who does Van Halen covers. Bridear - Light In The Dark All female powermetal band And in case you two want to check out India, Yes India has metal bands, check out Bloodywood (Indian folk metal) and their song Aaj(today)

Just a few small things to point out. The band was started in 2013, not 2017. The song Thrill which you reacted to, was the song that saved the band from being fired and possibly disbanded by their management company and record label. Like I typed above. There is MUCH more information about the young Ladies of Band-Maid if you are interested. Please just leave a reply to this comment.
Band-Maid is comprised of extremely talented musicians....every single one of them. In my 50 plus years of head banging, they are at the top of my favorites list. Almost always better live, but you can't go wrong with any of their material....great one to react with....the song that saved the band from being dropped at the start of their career. Their small label was about to cancel their contract when 'Thrill' went viral and became their first hit.
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors from Tokyo University. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Frequently snacks between songs. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Welcome to the fandom! Best rock band in the world right now! Been fortunate enough to see them play live twice in the past few years. By far the best 2 concerts I've been to! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Dice, Manners, Bubble, Blooming, No God (live) & Puzzle (live) BTW - Band Maid & The Warning are big fans of each other. There's a short video of them meeting at 2022 Aftershock concert
I have a hard time hearing english lyrics lol so Japanese isn't that much different. I was the guy that always thought they said something else. However, of the lyrics I do get especially due to CC, Japanese tend to have more positive lyrics. I'm so sick of "my friend died", "I'm and addict", "everything is dark", etc. Do us a favor and get help. Not to say Japanese are all rainbows and unicorns but even when it is dark, there's light at the end. Anyway, you now have another fantastic band to listen too. With Band-Maid you can never be bored. Not many of their songs sound the same. They are a rock core but they will mix in metal, blues, jazz, and more.
From JAPAN ■Introducing BAND-MAID Thank you for reaction BAND-MAID. BAND-MAID is a five-member girls rock band. They are celebrating their 10th anniversary last year. The members have not changed. They are a hard rock band and fans consider them one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually have 20 songs and 2 hour gig. Formed in Japan in 2013, led by side guitarist Miku Kobato. Kobato has experience working at a maid cafe in Akihabara, Tokyo, and came up with the idea of playing cool music in her maid outfit. That's why the band was named BAND-MAID. "Thrill" was the first music video of 2014, reaching 2 million views in 2 weeks, and they escaped disbandment and decided to become a hard rock band. Also, they perform LIVE overseas and increase the number of fans. Now they write, compose and arrange all their songs. 130 original songs. And 51 music videos have been released on the official RUclips, all of which are killer songs. ■ Official videos are often not blocked. ■ ■ Hard Rock : Rinne ・ DICE ・After life ・Unleash!!!! ・Sense ・Warning! ・Thrill ・ Shambles ■ Cool Rock : Influencer ・Bubble ・Manners ・Nonfiction Days ・YOLO ・Different ・Blooming ・ glory ■ Great Live : DOMINATION ・PLAY ・FREEDOM ・REAL EXISTENC ・secret My lips・ CROSS ・CHOOSE ME ・PUZZLE ■ Power ballad : Wonderland ・Endless story ・Daydreaming ・About us ・Memorable ■ Acoustic : "Catharsis" Acoustic Ver. ・Sayonakidori" Acoustic Ver. ■ Instrumental : from now on ・On set ■ English lyrics : Dragon Cry ・ Don't Let Me Down (not their lyrics) ■ Japanese Style : Secret Maiko Lips ・Gioncho (April Fool's Day Gift BAND MAIKO Version) BAND MEMBER They are unique, serious, shy and cute women. There isn't a Band-Maid song that isn't worth listening to more than once. I love the girls! I would recommend listening to this: BAND-MAID / DICE (Official Music Video) And then the live videos of Domination, Freedom, Onset (that's instrumental) BAND MAID / DOMINATION (Official Live Video) BAND MAID / FREEDOM (Official Live Video) BAND-MAID / onset (Official Live Video) I have all the albums and like all the songs ♥
Band-Maid is hard rock with other genres sprinkled in. Pop, metal, punk, prog. There's nothing these ladies don't try. Band-Maid and The Warning. Welcome to my world. They have a few anime songs and they were in the movie Kate on Netflix and another movie had a song. The outfits have matured but they are still maid outfits. MORE PLEASE!
I find Japanese Rock/Metal very melodic without losing intensity and technique. As for your next Band-Maid MV?.?. maybe their latest, Shambles, or a "newbie go to" - Domination "Live". Either one you can't go wrong.
never seen anything like all of the kickass female bands that have been coming out of japan for the last 15 or so years. never even knew about this whole scene until 2016 when the MAIDS popped up on youtube radar. almost passed the suggestion by until the curiosity took over. what a glorious find. i haven't listened to anything else for the last 8 years other than some classic rock from the 60's and 70's when i came of age. whoulda thunk it ? !
Band-Maid toured the US in 2022 & 2023 and they just finished their 10 years together tour ! They were at "Aftershock" In California in 2022 also played at "Lollapalooza" which was televised in the US on Hulu =) Nice Reaction
Hey J & A, as this vid is now over 9 years old and was their first video they have grown exponentially since then. For a rock/metal/prog masterpiece check out the MV for their latest instrumental FROM NOW ON. With over 120 song catalog there will be no shortage of Awesome tunes. Peace. 6.18
@@GaryHolloway-810 Yes! It's been that long and we've gone through a few thousand of them because they keep breaking. I don't think telling BAND-MAID to lower their level of awesomeness will work. You need to invent a new scale of awesomeness since BAND-MAID keeps surpassing every scale ever made. ⚖
@@jkkansasband7056 Hmm🤔 you're right Jk, underestimating the awesomeness of B-M was the fatal flaw in my design. So what we need is one of those scale thingies that you showed me but in a giant 810ft high version.😁
@@GaryHolloway-810 lol. That's pretty freekin big. But I guess that's the only way tame the beast that is BAND-MAID. Or just take away Kanami's coffee. ☕
@@jkkansasband7056 Of course why didn't i think of that. Cut out using caffeine as a measuring compound. The only thing that works well on is measuring how nervous Kanami's Little Swingy Arms Dance looks :)
After years of careful study, I have come to the conclusion that the black outfits are my favorites, followed closely by their new costumes introduced at the Yokohama Arena 10th Anniversary finale.
Maidiacs Incoming! 🎉❤ 🤘🏽 Welcome to the world of the magical Maids “Thrill” is to Band Maid as “Love Me Do” is to the Beatles. Despite the simplicity of this song, these musicians are exceptional. Their musical catalog includes rock anthems, soft ballads, furious post hardcore punk, and heavy metal instrumentals. They do not stay in one musical lane. You will hear all the influences inside a single song. The fanbase is worldwide and has plenty of old blues cats like me, classic rock and hair metal guys, musicians and producers. From here, you’ll get “Domination” as a recommendation; however, I would suggest “Play” due to its more progressive arrangement. My personal Band Maid playlist includes over 60 songs. Right up there with my Prince, Eagles, Led Zeppelin and Van Halen lists. These musicians are no joke. You’re in for a treat 🎸 🍻
Welcome aboard, Jordan & Amanda. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 190 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ruclips.net/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/видео.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Shambles, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Sense, Glory and Unleash!!!!! At 29 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. That was quite the synopsis haha we love hearing from true fans of bands cause that's how find out things that average person would spend a life time trying to research, true fans research this stuff because this is what they love. Thank you very much for sharing all of that! Cheers.
This is the MV that saved the band. They were struggling for an audience. This was to be the last MV for Band Maid. The agency was only going keep Saiki, Vocals and Miku, Vocals and guitar. This MV got posted on Facebook and got 2 million views in 2 weeks. Agency plans changed. Their 1st overseas gig was in 2016 in Seattle at an Asian Culture Festival, a successful gig. They have continued touring the US and Europe every year since. 2023 was their 10th anniversary year, touring the US twice including Lallapalooza and Aftershock. Everything was a sell-out!! NEXT -- "Puzzle" live @ the Tokyo Gardens , ending their 10th anniversary International tour.
8-9 years on they have gotten insanely good- here is one of 4 instrumentals for an idea of how well they play these days ruclips.net/video/a6ZSvmnkS00/видео.html Live with vocals as well... ruclips.net/video/zvuqmSQEnaA/видео.html
As has been mentioned multiple times, Domination official Live will give you a taste of who they are live. They are an absolutely top tier world class band and their live performance are amongst the best I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a LOT.
This is the song and the music video that literally saved the band, and was also my first introduction to Band-Maid 3 years ago that has now turned into a full blown obsession. They are also very much a live band, check out any of their live performances on YT, especially the more recent ones, to see how much they've evolved since "Thrill" was released.
I believe they were all around 23 to 24 years at the time of this video and look so young. You should check them out one their live concets from 2023 and you'll see that they have all leveled up.....:)
Most Band-Maid fans will cherish this MV forever because it literally saved the band! Their first management were thinking about shutting this "project" down about a year in. However, thrill garnered some overseas' traction and they decided to let them continue. And the rest as they say is history... about 100 songs later Band-Maid is one of the best live bands around. Trust me, I have seen them live in 2019 in a small grimy club in Hamburg, Germany and they have only gotten better.
Thank you for your reaction. Thrill is a good song, I like it, and after all it saved the band so it is also an important song. The current song writing is very different though. My musical journey with the maids started with the MV for Manners and as the band develop, so do I. All previous suggestions are good and my suggestion is a doubble reaction to the official onlive live performance to Manners, Black Hole. Have fun! :)
Welcome to Band-maid.. Over 100 songs to go.. You have so much to see and hear.. Check out Real existence Live next.. So first Lovebites now Band-maid your next band is Nemophila.. Five more insanely talented Ladies from Japan. Check out the MV ot the song Revive.. If you Dare? Best wishes from France.
If you want range check out domination official live then daydreaming the official mv only please enjoy the journey because your minds are about to be blown by the living legends known as band maid
You have just scratched the surface of all female Japanese rock/metal bands. I'll let the commenters here give you recommendations of Band-Maid songs. This is literally the song that saved Band Maid. Just prior to this video coming out and being a smash, their management had pretty made the decision to drop them because they hadn't been very successful, which is not unusual for a new band starting out. Only thing is, the ladies had no idea it was about to happen. So Miku, the band's founder, decided to put out this video, which was the B side of another song. It got picked up by some reactors and then it was off to the races. It got millions of views in a very short time, which got their management's attention. Up to that time they weren't allowed to use their own compositions for the label. Thrill changed that in very short order. In the 10 years since that fateful video came out, they have ascended to the top of the rock world and have tens of millions of fans on every continent. I'm a soon-to-be 77 year old rocker from Brooklyn, New York who has been following rock since the late 1950's and have pretty much seen it all. These ladies are SPECIAL !!!! Their musicianship is stellar and always on point and the exquisite compositions of lead guitarist Kanami Tono are some of the best I've ever heard. She's quite plainly, a modern Mozart when it come to rock. I've seen in the comments below that the usual suspects, lol, of which I am one, have given you the lowdown on the Merry Maids. I've seen them here when they were on tour three times since the fall of 2022 and what you hear in their live videos is what you hear at a live show, but more raw, filthy and unfiltered. The shows of theirs that I went to are the best shows I've been to since seeing The Young Rascals and Blood, Sweat & Tears in NYC in 1967 and The Doors at the Whiskey au Go Go in LA in 1968. Domination is a good live video to begin with, it's stellar and shows the impact they have on the crowds. If you want to check their musicianship, react to the live official video of "Onset" and the music video for "From Now On", which are instrumentals........and excellent ones. No one really does rock instrumentals today outside of Band Maid and Polyphia, but both groups are stellar. They are also the most fan friendly band I've ever seen. They truly love their fans and we Maidiacs love them right back. Nice reaction, and you have a whole lot more to react to. And if you like hard rock, there's a relatively new band from South Korea named Rolling Quartz who are just fire also. They did a US tour in 2023 and were very well received and I would have gone to see them but I didn't find out until after they had left.
This is their breakthrough. They planned to give up and then this video got viral. And then they had to continue, of course. And we are VERY glad for that, because today they have 70+ banger songs. This one is catchy but rather simple. They have developed since then and are totally fantastic. They play mainly heavy rock but also prog rock. I can recommend two songs that I think you shall listen to both, they are different. They have much more, but those are a good start. Please do both live. * Domination * Play
This MV, released in 2014, is a very important song that saved these girls from almost falling off a cliff. Next up is "Alone". This song is also an important part of their story.🤘
Ah, yisss. All that way back to the tiny hat era. At this time they played tunes their agency approved of. As the years added up their popularity grew. They switched agencies and began to play music that they wrote. Suggestions; Daydreaming, a softer style. Domination or Freedom from LINE CUBE SHIBUYA show, demonstrates their energy when performing live. But try any of their works. You can't go wrong.
Check out their newer stuff! They consider themselves to be Hard Rock, but can, and do, play anything! They literally are, and this is no exaggeration, The Best Band In The World! You may be the "smallest drop in the bucket" but you will grow now! Maidiacs are very loyal fans. So, more BAND-MAID, please. ASAP!

Oh.....by the way.....after a couple more songs, and you become official "Maidiacs"....please enjoy a great fan documentary by Ohrenje. it starts with Saiki, the lead vocalist...their team did a wonderful job introducing you to each member and the kismet involved in the organic creation of Band Maid.....again, enjoy....thanks for the content and nice work
Yeah, this is their 1st video. They didn't write this song and it's tame compared to some of what they write themselves. The story is: Management was going to drop the band if this video failed to gain popularity. Management didn't tell the band until after they filmed the video. The band members had a meeting amongst themselves and decided to keep the band together if management dropped them. A couple months later, an American Facebook page posted this video and the number of views skyrocketed over 2 weeks from a few thousand to 2 million. The band was not allowed to record any of their own songs until their 3rd EP - Brand New Maid, when they were allowed 1 song and 1 that they wrote the lyrics for. Their 4th release and 1st full-length album - Just Bring It - is when they were allowed to record their songs and that's when it starts to get really good.
Well not their real lead singer, because this is Saki but she then decided that she alone wouldn't work, so she is now the second voice and second guitar. ("Miku").
This is an amazing band, but this song....think of it like "Twist and Shout" for the Beatles. An early song, and while it highlights talent, it does not begin to capture the quality and diversity of this band's catalog. This band really grew musically since releasing this vid. I'd suggest Daydreaming, Puzzle, One and Only, Gion-cho (as their alter ego band Band-Maiko), Unleash, and From Now On (an instrumental). Usually the last song you hear from this band is your favorite lol. :)
I love that comparison to Twist and Shout, I can totally see that haha but definitely want to check out more, we were over the top impressed by these ladies. Cheers.
If you check out Shambles next you would be amazed by how far the band progressed over the last 10 years. This is not some gimmick band. They got better and better as they grow. As us Madiacs always say "Your favorite Band-Maid song is the last Band-Maid song you listened to."
Band-Maid members are: SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 27 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock front women... or front men! MIKU Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 29 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR Spokes Pigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. KANAMI Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 29 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want is more! AKANE Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 30 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 28 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Try Hate Live its Brilliant !!!!!
The ladies in Band-Maid are amazing live. Their live videos are great. Enjoy the journey. Another suggestion (if you haven't already covered them), try Nemophila (perhaps Oiran, Live) another all female band from Japan.
This song is so early in their career, The just had their 10 year anniversary tour Originally they had very little control over their music, but once they started writing their own compositions they really took off. The Play at several festivals in the US this year and the played at Lollapalooza this past summer. My vote for your next video is "Moratorium"
@@jordanamandareact don't rush, listen to MV (Dice, Blooming, Warning, Manners,...) before official lives( in that order Freedom, Domination, Play, and Onset). Keep the best for the grand final ;) You can event do Puzzel Mv + Official Live + Accoutic Live just to appreciate the extend of their talent
This video was the first one they made and it saved the band because they were going to breakup because they weren’t getting any interest and to their surprise this video went viral and they decided to keep going and nine years later they are huge with a very loyal fan base called Maidiacs. Now they have over 120 songs and tons of videos live and MV that are all great. They are my favorite band currently and was lucky to see them live last year in May in Austin, Texas and they were incredible. Their songwriting has definitely improved and gotten much more complex without losing their catchy hard rock appeal. Definitely y’all need to check out many more of their songs because they simply do not have a bad song that I can find in their catalog and so many diverse styles that they incorporate into their songs but still maintain the Band-Maid signature sound. Check out some of their newer songs like Shambles, No God, Manners, Blooming, Dice, Hate, Puzzle, Don’t You Tell Me, and Choose Me.
Hold on to your hat!!!!!! The Maidiacs will come in force......I know you don't realize it yet....but you just heard the best rockbound on the planet. wait till you hear them LIVE !!!! this is their first MV from 10 years ago. The musicianship is completely off the chart. These are professional well trained musicians and you will quickly see how good they are. Don't make the mistake trying to pigeon hole them into a particular genre.....they have over 120 songs and have something for every taste. The song PLAY LIVE would be a good place to start.
Band-Maid kicks ass. If you like thrash punk rock Otoboke Beaver is great too. They are fixin' to start a U.S. tour including the Harley Davidson Homecoming concert headlined by The Red Hot Chili Peppers in Milwaukee.
One of their first oldest videos. Worth checking out their newer stuff as they now write their own stuff. Miku (red rose)started the idea of the band and worked in Maid Cafes. She liked the idea of the gap of what they looked like to what they would sound like. 10 YEARS of great rock music with early punk influences in the earlier songs. They do indeed write a few anime themes that are very successful. Hope you enjoy them as frankly they are just wonderful to me.
Miku, the founder and the one singing the second verse didn’t know how to play a guitar, you can see her just holding it!! Today she is an excellent guitarist
"Blooming", "Endless Story" ":The Non-fiction Days", "Daydreaming", then check out their Band Maiko alter ego (April Fool's joke on their fans) offering "Gion-cho". THEN an instrumental - "From Now on"
I suggest the next song by Band Maid is "Domination", the official live video then jump to their most recent official music video, "Shambles" to see how far Band Maid has in their TEN EARS TOGETHER.
Amusingly enough, Band-Maid does actually have ten ears... XD
That's funny! LOL! 😂😂😂
Ten ears definitely helps a lot when you're a band.
You just found the best band on the planet. These girls are off the chart talented. You have a lot of great music in front of you.
Congratulations you found the best band on the planet 🎎🤘🎎🤘. Check out their live music video 🤘
Drummer Akane Hirose's name is an anagram of "Here is an oak". Which is ironic seeing as she uses Wincent custom hickory sticks :)
@rogerchance9074 Ok Roger wait for it. We all know how near you are to me (he says in a gruff, manly voice) so your anagram nickname shall be the "G. Encroacher".😆🍻
@rogerchance9074 Really, how cool. Well i'll find you wherever they are, 🤔 Unless one of them is "The Dragon Cries" then i won't :)
Band-Maid satisfies all my musical cravings. Between Band-Maid, Band-Maiko, Cluppo, or the occasional acoustic performance, all my intellectual and emotional desires are met.Thank you for your review. It was pleasant to watch.
Fantastic band in every way, check out more, you won't be disappointed! Thanks for the reaction.
BAND-MAID refers to their fans as "Masters & Princesses" and their concerts as "servings."
Kanami "Mincho" Tono (lead guitarist) is a prolific songwriter and initially writes songs by piano, her 1st instrument. My BAND-MAID playlist has 100+ songs, and all are worthy of unending listens. I've seen them twice in the last 15 months, and they are so much fun, inserting short interludes referred to as "Omajinai Time" and "Japanese Lesson Time."
Imho, BAND-MAID is not the best all-female or the best Japanese band. They are the best band on the planet. Period. More please!
Arigatou! 🤘🤘 #SurrenderLove #ShareHappyLetsDance
You've seen nothing yet. They are incredible now!
🐦 *Jordan & Amanda React* 🐦

I discovered *BAND-MAID* in 2019 and came to a realization that *BAND-MAID* more then just a rock band they are a band that does not have any boundaries and is willing experiment into different genre from (Blues, Rock, Punk and Jazz) and a lot of fans including me would say “you got to check out their live videos” from:
*2017-STUDIO COAST*
*2018-Zepp Tokyo*
*2020-LINE CUBE SHIBUYA*
*2021-BAND-MAID ONLINE ACOUSTIC*
In the end I realize that *BAND-MAID* more then just a band but a band that cares about each other and their fan base and in October of 2022 I had a fortune of experiencing them live and with that *BAND-MAID* cemented their Legacy into my heart. Rock On! 🤘
*100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back…*
Miku. Red rose. Formed the band.
Don't know if anyone else has said it but this was the song
These ladies are the real deal. They've got a ten-year catalog of great music. Check out something more recent. Influencer is one of my favorites. From Now On is an instrumental, but it will blow you away.
TRIVIA: When this was filmed, Miku's Rickenbacker 620 was just a prop; she couldn't play then, but she can now. Kanami used an Addictone early on, but now uses PRS, with whom she has an endorsement.
"Sponsorship", not endorsement. PRS is the sponsor, Kanami is the endorser.
This is their oldest Music video nearly 10 years old, they've grown a bit since then. It's a good start, but you haven't seen anything yet.
Welcome to BAND MAID
Songs I recommend
BLOOMING; ruclips.net/video/uUt_JBMocKM/видео.html
MANNERS/BLACK HOLE live : ruclips.net/video/iaf94nNSRGE/видео.html
DAYDREAMING: ruclips.net/video/RCaeUkrItyY/видео.html This song is beautiful
FREEDOM: ruclips.net/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/видео.html
INFLUENCER: ruclips.net/video/e_bEf1C0spY/видео.html
And if you want to know more about them, I recommend this documentary made by fans and where you will know much more about them. There are 7 videos, it is very complete. It may be long but it is very good to start with, sorry for my English as it is not very good.
ruclips.net/video/3Mx_rZnqayg/видео.html
In the documentary you will understand why their band maid costumes and how incredible their leader and creator of the band is, I will look forward to it and thank you very much for reacting to band maid
Congratulations on improving your life immensely by learning about Band-Maid!! 😂
Next - must see LIVE!!
- “Domination” - official live video 🔥🔥🔥
Yes, you’ll see what an incredible band the are.
It’s not unusual for Miku, Misa, Akane, Kanami & Saiki to become your favorite rock musicians on the planet 🌏🤷🏻♂️
Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎹🎻🎺😎✌🏼
Miku( vocals and rhythm guitar) was the one who used to work at the maid café , and started the band.
You have metal problems!
Mental problems
Who cares? Band-Maid redefines HEAVY METAL!
❤
I'm glad you picked them up. This is the video that saved the band they almost didn't make it. Their stuff is so dope.
Band Maid: Simply the best! -Thank you Miku!
Welcome to the Maidiacs, Jordan & Amanda.
"The Gap" strikes again
Good music does not necessarily have to be understandable through words. It speaks to you on so many other levels that you can understand beyond any language barrier.
The start of a great journey for these ladies and for me it is THE song that revitalized this genre for me back in 2019 when i found this video by chance here on yt. Since then, this band is the benchmark for me when it comes to rock music and at the same time they have opened up a fantastic new world of music for me.
Greetings from Germany

※ Band-Maid ※ Gacharic Spin ※ Lovebites ※ Nemophila ※ East of Eden ※ Hanabie ※ Asterism ※ Trident ※ etc.
Some other Japanese band recommendations for you:
MAXIMUM THE HORMONE - Yoshu Fukushu They are VERY influential in Japan.
Bridear - Light In The Dark All female powermetal band
And in case you two want to check out India, Yes India has metal bands, check out Bloodywood (Indian folk metal) and their song Aaj(today)
I would say they started out as a pop-punk band rather than J-pop though.

There is much more available if you are interested.
BAND-MAID is their own genre. Anyway, His Holiness TinyHat-san smiles down on your review.
Entry level Band Maid...they are light years past this now. Enjoy the journey down the rabbit hole.
I suggest these Band Maid songs: Dice, Manners, Bubble, Blooming, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
BTW - Band Maid & The Warning are big fans of each other.
Welcome to the wonderful world of BAND-MAID every song a experience every maid a gem.

There isn't a Band-Maid song that isn't worth listening to more than once. I love the girls!
I would recommend listening to this: BAND-MAID / DICE (Official Music Video)
And then the live videos of Domination, Freedom, Onset (that's instrumental)
BAND MAID / DOMINATION (Official Live Video)
BAND MAID / FREEDOM (Official Live Video)
BAND-MAID / onset (Official Live Video)
I have all the albums and like all the songs ♥
Play, Puzzle, Dont you tell me
Band-Maid is hard rock with other genres sprinkled in.
Great band!!!
Hej Jordan and Amanda ! Welcome tot the world of Band-Maid !
Glad to have you with us on this journey.
Band-Maid toured the US in 2022 & 2023 and they just finished their 10 years together tour ! They were at "Aftershock" In California in 2022 also played at "Lollapalooza" which was televised in the US on Hulu =) Nice Reaction
Band Maid from Japan & The Warning from México. Just rocking ladies!!
Hey J & A, as this vid is now over 9 years old and was their first video they have grown exponentially since then. For a rock/metal/prog masterpiece check out the MV for their latest instrumental FROM NOW ON. With over 120 song catalog there will be no shortage of Awesome tunes. Peace. 6.18
9yrs already? Is it really that long since the "Awesomometer" was invented to measure B-M?😯
Miku, the rhythm guitar, and "backing vocals" was the one who founded the band. Saiki, the lead vocalist, was in fact the last member to join the band
After years of careful study, I have come to the conclusion that the black outfits are my favorites, followed closely by their new costumes introduced at the Yokohama Arena 10th Anniversary finale.
Maidiacs Incoming! 🎉❤ 🤘🏽
Welcome to the world of the magical Maids
“Thrill” is to Band Maid as “Love Me Do” is to the Beatles.
(from their own Anime MV (series?)): ruclips.net/video/7LB_EPS48HE/видео.html)
And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts:

And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at an intimate venue:

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.
For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans.

Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the Acoustic Christmas 2021, ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! Fans can now see more than 50 great live performances with awesome audio, etc. like Fate, I Can't Live Without You and the great MISA / Kanami exchange in Don't You Tell Me. Those concerts are two of the best produced & performed concerts ever recorded, IMO. bandmaidprime.tokyo
The Maids SOLD OUT 2023 US & Mexico tour wrapped up and was a fantastic success. And so many great live fancams to watch! Their playing and antics were as fresh and fun to experience from first show to last. BRAVO Band-Maid!!!!! In addition, their Japan tour finished up with 13 concerts, AND they’re writing and recording for their new album. Their 10th Anniversary Tour concluded at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26, 2023 and in Hong Kong Dec. 21!
The Maids are one of the hardest working super groups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids, and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE!

8-9 years on they have gotten insanely good- here is one of 4 instrumentals for an idea of how well they play these days

As has been mentioned multiple times, Domination official Live will give you a taste of who they are live. They are an absolutely top tier world class band and their live performance are amongst the best I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a LOT.
When I don't listen to Lovebites, I listen to Band-Maid.
Japanese ladies saved rock & metal.
Nice first review of this awesome band.....very much worth a deep dive into their catalog!🤘
In this video they are 19/20 (Saiki) to 23 (Akane) with the other 3 all 21/22
lol… you are right!!! I forgot Saiki was the youngest one there…. Today they still look like they’re only 23 to 24.
They are in the Netflix movie Kate
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Band Maid.
Have fun! :)
At one Band-Maid reaction per week, you have well over 2 years worth of great songs to do!

120+ unique original songs. In studio, live, acoustic and Maiko styles. New album coming this summer.
Band Maid is amazing band, they are the best band in the world right now!!!!
Fact!
They are in the movie KATE on Netflix
Must watch their live shows!!! That's where they shine most. They are soooooo much better now
This is their breakthrough.
* Domination
* Play
Good job!. More Band Maid please!
ASAP!
Some of us don’t love the newer stuff.

Congratulations on discovering the best band in the world today! Enjoy the ride!! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂🕊
Band-Maid members are:
SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
Definitively the most talented and cerative band today. Make yourself a favour and react to any official live video.
The rhythm guitarist formed the band not the lead singer.
Y’all really have to check out the amazing all female Japanese Metal band called Nemophila and their brand new song AMA Te Ras next!
Always funny to see 1st reaction on Trill knowing what's coming after :) The journey is just starting...
We can't wait to check out more! We're so curious to know how they've developed from here.
@@jordanamandareact don't rush, listen to MV (Dice, Blooming, Warning, Manners,...) before official lives( in that order Freedom, Domination, Play, and Onset). Keep the best for the grand final ;)
You can event do Puzzel Mv + Official Live + Accoutic Live just to appreciate the extend of their talent
They all get endorsment for their instrument, Tama for Akane, PRS for Kanami, Zemaitis for Miku and Misa with Black Cloud
Hold on to your hat!!!!!! The Maidiacs will come in force......I know you don't realize it yet....but you just heard the best rockbound on the planet. wait till you hear them LIVE !!!! this is their first MV from 10 years ago. The musicianship is completely off the chart. These are
professional well trained musicians and you will quickly see how good they are. Don't make the mistake trying to pigeon hole them into
a particular genre.....they have over 120 songs and have something for every taste.
Welcome the greatest band on Earth. Amazing it only gets better, enjoy ❤😊
I was actually kind of wondering about that to be honest lol I'll have to keep my eye on her performance in out next reaction of them! Cheers.
"Blooming", "Endless Story" ":The Non-fiction Days", "Daydreaming", then check out their Band Maiko alter ego (April Fool's joke on their fans) offering "Gion-cho". THEN an instrumental - "From Now on"
