    My buddy permanently mounted his totem pars and drilled holes in the trusses to run the power/DMX cables permanently in the truss tube.

    I agree with Dj Brannon, yes you can just cut the excess bolt with hacksaw or sawsaw. Then make sure to sand and/or grind any sharp edges.Great video, I'm all about cleanness and speed!

    Since your top plate is always on your truss, why not fit the Airstream to the bottom of it?

    Great video and very easy to understand, what I got to decide is what type truss I need. I love the idea of pow r bar and link bar

    take c-clamp off the power bar, drill a 1/2 hole through truss on back side and 1/4 on inside then run a bolt through internally into the power bar.(use the 1/2 inch hole to get bolt and wrench through).. no visible bolt or clamp. and tighter connection, also way cheaper to buy power con connectors and wire and make your own lengths, also, I ran all my wires internally inside the truss pipes

    For the Bolt, use an angle grinder to shorten the bolt and use a bolt cover at the end of it so it doesn't rip the cloth.

    Awesome...Could you please answer the below questions: a. How long do you usually take to complete a Set up? b. How many hours before an event do you arrive..? c. When do you start loading equipment on the date of event or prior to that day, d. During setting up equipments if guests come in (early droppers) how do you deal...any experience as such. e. How do you manage to change suit and do you leave your equipments idle unattended, if you have to go out for emergency or to change clothes? Thank you so very much :-)

    Leave the nut on and cut the bolt as short as you can. Can you mount the airstream to the bottom of your top plate? Then you won't damage the antennas.

    I'm nervous for you about the bolt puncturing and ripping your scrim. There's gotta be a better option out there than those clamps. If not that's the next million dollar idea.

    For that screw poking the scrim you could cut a little piece of the plastic off the packing from the power bar pad it on the end of the screw and gaff tape it. It will solve the problem...

    Take the spare nut and washer, thread it on the mounting bolt. Thread the bolt into the power block. Flip the clamp 180, tighten down the nut to the power block. No cutting of bolts needed.

    • @g30jack
      @g30jack 5 лет назад

      Never mind... That won't work like I thought it would. If you cut the bolt, make sure you chase the threads so you can actually unbolt it in the future.

    Get a Dremel Tool and cut the excess length of the screw..then cap it. HomeDepot or Lowes sell screw end caps
    www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-4-Count-10-Nickel-Standard-SAE-Cap-Nuts/3035977 . ( would have to take the screw to get the right size)

  • @locust108
    @locust108 5 лет назад

    I'd fabricate a bar on the inside so that you can clamp things to them in the middle so nothing would be on the outside bars that would show when you put back on the scrim. Simple as drilling two holes in the aluminum, then tapping them add bolts and another aluminum bar or plate and now the power plus air stream dmx can be attached and it won't show from the outsides.. if done well won't even look like a DIY project.

    • @locust108
      @locust108 5 лет назад

      but quickest solution would be to cut the excess bolt and sand it down so that it no longer sticks out..

    Basically you're paying $80 for a powerstrip. Only thing is to mount it. You can get one that has surge protection and usb ports for way cheaper. I'm getting heavy duty velcro straps to secure it on my horizontal truss. It's a pass. $80 is too much for it to be so clunky and bulky. 🤷🏽‍♀️

      DJVetz510 do you fit both of the 140sr’s in that case? Or do they just hold one. I’ve been using the Chauvet bags with wheels and have hated them from day one- but also don’t want the weight of a dual road case because we work in venues with stairs and I do a bunch of gigs alone. Thanks for sharing the link!

    Try using these clamps --> amzn.to/2OfXruQ. I started using those a couple years ago and I'll never go back to the other ones. Plus it will take care of the issue with the long bolt and potentially ripping your truss scrims.
