    Awesome job! The setup really was very neat.
    One tip, when running 4 or more subwoofers you might want to stack them in pairs. This helps with comb filtering artifacts and also has some coupling advantages.

    • @jamesryan1939
      @jamesryan1939 5 лет назад +4

      And in Cardioid pattern.... or just put a pair on each side, that is what I have done. Once you get past 25 feet you lose the effects of comb filtering.

    • @RadINation
      @RadINation 5 лет назад +4

      That much bass can actually injure a person, yes they and you may think it cool but it is not. No granite I may have been harsh on the commits earlier but with that much bass you need more mid and high. A coracoid set up would have been perfect for that gym and it would take some of the bass away for you (the DJ).

    • @DJRickWeb
      @DJRickWeb  5 лет назад +12

      Agree on the cardio setup. And yes that much bass could injury a person. But it's also why we were not pushing them anywhere close to max. The main reason for 4 was to not have to push anything anywhere close to max and protect the gear.

      @@RadINation mhh, I've worked with large line array systems accompanied with huge subwoofer stacks and I can tell you this. Awsome setup man! But one little tip: If you use line arrays make sure to point them a little inwards so the coverage in the front-middle is also good. Or use some near fills because the coverage of the line arrays is limited because they are designed to "throw" the sound and if they are that far away from each other they don't cover the space between them. And against the others who complained about your Sub setup: I think it's perfect that way. A monocluster like yours has a good throw and no frequency extinction like in a L/R setup. And nobody is behind /on the stage except of you so it doesn't matter if it's a cardiod setup or not.
    Greetings

  • @erikbritz8095

    so if i am not mistaken the setup you guys have here had
    3500watts Rms for Mids and highs(vrx932's are 875 Rms times 4) these are powered if i am not mistaken
    3000watts Rms of bass through the JBL srx728's cause the two crown MA 9000i's are 1500watts@8ohm unless both were wired at 4ohm which would mean 7000watts RMS
    meaning total power 6500watts to 10 500 watts Rms or enough volume for 1300 to 2100 people based off the 5watt per person rule which is insane to be honest i am building a setup based off of PA & car audio which will be 5700watts Rms this setup is almost double that which is just nutty to me but these subs i'm buying have gone as high as 150DB on music so i think the raw power differs in different ways.
    anyway besides that epic vid and fun to me to think about the tech cheers rick.

    • @DJRickWeb
      @DJRickWeb  5 лет назад +1

      Worth noting that the system can do what you said but we were barely pushing maybe half what it could really do with the tops and may three quarters what the subs could have pushed.

      5 watt per person rule? Never heard of such nonsense. This doesn't take into account how efficient your speakers are, what kind of environment you are playing in, what music is played. The list goes on and on. Not even a rule of thumb if you ask me
