Xemnas phasing through Sora is a good example of what a nobody was supposed to be. A being rejected by light and dark that doesn't fully exist, yet persists through sheer willpower. An incomplete being.
Without the added context, Xemnas is actually low-key terrifying here. Ominous, hooded, grim-reaper like figure with some unexplained connection to the games villian. Moveset and general appearance unlike anything you've seen before in the series. Moving through Sora like a ghost. Hell, the guy doesn't even speak. Just this eerie wind-like whisper.

At this point; Roxas already has existed and been around for several days when this fight canonically occurred. Roxas was created earlier at the moment Sora became a heartless to free Kairi’s heart from inside him. This fight takes place many days after that happened. So it’s really like Xemnas is gathering data to create Riku Replica and Xion; rather than to recruit Roxas. But I get what you were trying to say.

I'm just now realizing the inside joke of using gravity in the fight. Xemnas uses light sabers in his fight. Using gravity is like telling the player to " use the force" like in star wars. That shit is genius. Sora says "force" when he uses gravity.
I highly doubt Nomura was thinking about Star Wars at all while making KH. He says "force" because the gravity spell forces down against the ground, which is why the enemy takes damage in proportion to overall hp

One of the things we can't really appreciate now is of how much an amazing tease this was back in the day. Originally (with Kingdom hearts final mix in Japan), this character existed 2 years before chain of memories and 3 years before KH2. Like back then you really had completely no idea who this person was at all till you saw the same cloak design in chain of memories 2 years later. Thats such an awesome tease.
this was so cathartic to watch after struggling with fighting him myself, I wasn't able to get the gravity loop to work consistently but it's a lack of practice on my end. Fighting a KH2 type enemy in KH1 is not fun since KH2 combat is so much faster paced than KH1
So what the hell was Beast doing during all this? Xemnas probably thinks Sora is some Star Wars fanboy trying to master the force after how many times he had it yelled at him in face lol

Kh2 had the best combat but I've gone back to play kh1 so many more times just because I love the nostalgia. I wish I could play through this game for the first time. I was like 6 or 7 when when I first played it. Man it was a simpler time

I actually think this fight was easier than Sephiroth. At least here you got Donald and Goofy. My strategy was give Sora, Donald, and Goofy the weapons with the highest Strength number each, level up until all 3 were at 100, set Donald and Goofy’s AI to use everything freely, gave each of them equal amounts of Hi-Potions and Mega-Ethers, filled my load out entirely with Elixirs, activate Tinkerbell, and I went in all guns blazing. I beat him first try. Though I played on Standard difficulty, so...
And yet KH3 was still a more satisfying finale than Rise of Skywalker. Made more sense too. And i was disappointed by KH3's story, so that says something.

Hence it being called Armored Xemnas fight... Soon after in KH2 he goes to final form and shows off a zebra organization outfit... then in Dream Drop Distance he sports the same old black coat until KH3...

Simba only attacks when you press Triangle next to him. The Unknown can cast a barrier in front of him which causes him to automatically counter if you attack him from the front. However, you manage to get behind him and attack him while the barrier is up, he'll stagger and be open for a combo. Problem is, the counter attack can be triggered even if Donald or Goofy attack the barrier, so he used Simba to prevent them from accidentally messing up an opening.
5 months late, but yes. In Days and KH2's opening when Xemnas tells Roxas that he's been to see him, he looks a lot like you, he was talking about going to fight Sora. According to the Days timeline, Xemnas fought Sora on Day 6 of Roxas' life. He also sampled Sora's memories, which he gave to Vexen, so Vexen could make Xion, who joins on Day 7.
It's not Unknown, if you play it on PS4, you should have known it was Xemnas obviously. This fight is where Sora fights as human (Sora is not a human anymore in KH2, seriously, who can walk on the wall?).
He's not human here either. After Hollow Bastion, he's just a walking heart because he became a Heartless which removed his body (AKA Roxas) until the beginning of KH2

I’m pretty sure the summons are just to get Dolan and gaffy out of the way so they don’t unintentionally break the gravity loop.

Moises Orihuela No I’m talking about No Heart from Birth by Sleep and the events between then up until KH3... Xemnas changes forms, Outfits and armor so many times... that’s why I’m joking about him having ADHD he goes from No Heart in Birth by Sleep to unknown here in KH1 then to Xemnas from KH2 where you see him in the old No Heart armor... Hence it being called Armored Xemnas fight... Soon after in KH2 he goes to final form and shows off a zebra organization outfit... then in Dream Drop Distance he sports the same old black coat until KH3...

Unknown in KH1 has the same fighting style as Xemnas in DDD and universally Xemnas shares his red ethereal blades when he isn’t in No Heart armor... it’s the same person... across the entire timeline...

What's Simba's purpose?
Simba only attacks when you press Triangle next to him.
The Unknown can cast a barrier in front of him which causes him to automatically counter if you attack him from the front. However, you manage to get behind him and attack him while the barrier is up, he'll stagger and be open for a combo.
Problem is, the counter attack can be triggered even if Donald or Goofy attack the barrier, so he used Simba to prevent them from accidentally messing up an opening.

5 months late, but yes. In Days and KH2's opening when Xemnas tells Roxas that he's been to see him, he looks a lot like you, he was talking about going to fight Sora. According to the Days timeline, Xemnas fought Sora on Day 6 of Roxas' life. He also sampled Sora's memories, which he gave to Vexen, so Vexen could make Xion, who joins on Day 7.
His Ult attack is also his All Vanity Limit Break from 358/2.

It's not Unknown, if you play it on PS4, you should have known it was Xemnas obviously. This fight is where Sora fights as human (Sora is not a human anymore in KH2, seriously, who can walk on the wall?).
"Unknown" is just the official before-KH2-got-released boss name for him

He's not human here either. After Hollow Bastion, he's just a walking heart because he became a Heartless which removed his body (AKA Roxas) until the beginning of KH2

As far as music is concerned, in the data xemnas kh3 (which includes parts of all xemnas theme) you can't listen any part of this unknown theme. However this battle theme has some connections with the Master of Master theme in kh union x (same creepiness, similar melody).
