@LeeEverett1 The only song I think is a very strict improvement is the Assault on the Dreadnaught theme, the symphonic swells at the chorus section feel more epic in .5 than the original, other than that I agree with you completely. A lot of the .5 versions lack the bass and fusion of synths/techno drumming that the original had, which I think is Yoko's signature. +Nicholas Hinds very different battle mechanics. In KH1 there are no reaction commands to aid you. But at the same time that is what made the first IMO superior than the second. It was far more challenging.
Nicholas Hinds I already beat him in proud mode with the Kingdom key at that. With the right items, and avoiding that move that you have to click the right command to get out off he isn't all that hard.
Xemnas: *just testing sora* also Xemnas: *uses his best fucking weapons* Xemnas are you trying to kill sora or test him? I can't tell cause you're using your BEST weapon Interdiction instead of your default weapon Malice!
This guy is a pain in the butt when I first fought him in KH1. Had to use Strike Raid many times to bring this silver-haired jerk down. Yes, it was simple minded for me to do, but choice do I have when Xemnas does all of those bull-crap attacks and powers?
Its because the games reflect timeline differences. Terras lingering spirit (Enigmatic Soldier) was much further down the timeline than when he first manifested in BBS, so his skills had grown in reflection of the passing time. Thats why hes stronger in KH2 than he was in BBS. The same way Xemnas is way harder in KH1, even though he has the same skills (he just uses them differently), because Sora is far stronger in KH2 than in KH1, making the same opponent seem "weaker" when faced again.
While this fight kinda breaks the continuity (moreso Sora's intelligence), gotta admit, introducing Xemnas as this guy who is not even using 10% of his power against THE TRIO, that's fucking insane and only someone as nuts as Nomura could do it exclusively in final mix, mention it in KH2, and not completely piss everyone off.
It actually doesn’t break the continuity, rather it explains why some things in later games (primarily KH2) are the way they are. It was through this fight where Xemnas got Sora’s data so Vexen could make Xion, and it’s also why Xaldin goes after Beast in Kingdom Hearts 2 because Beast can be here during this fight. It also, more obviously, explains why Xemnas knows Sora in later games.
Fun fact: xemnas in kh1 is weak to gravity and it’s stuns him for like 5 seconds Secondary fun fact: in kh1 zantetsuken does gravity damage Third fun fact: you get zantetsuken from Kurt Zisa Fun fact #4: Kurt Zisa is a pushover Fun fact five: xemnas won’t use his command menu attack if you have a summon active
The most nightmare fuel of this fight is the fact you are clearly not ready for this. KH1's combat wasn't design for a KH2 boss fight, this is something the franchise wasn't able to repeat as all games after 2,both Sora and the player has the speed necessary to deal with the enemy. Even Young Xehanort, with practice, isn't that hard. In KH1 you don't had that speed, you are at the mercy of the enemy.
I’m not sure if you’re joking. But this is Xemnas from the present time at the point of time. He did remember this since he did mention this encounter to Roxas at the dark margin
Nah,this is the same Xemnas you fight in KH2 as he's still alive by the time of KH1,possibly this combat takes place after recruiting Roxas. Once you reach 3D,you fight against a Time Travel'd Xemnas because he's already dead by that point.
And for the secret one in BBS, it was Young Xehanort. He uses the Ethereal Blades but later through time he uses his Keyblade. Example: Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. He can still use his Ethereal Blades

To be fair, his whole boss battle was a reminder that we used to get owned by this guy, right down to his ability to RETRY THE FIGHT!!! I kid you not, that had to be a "retry" reference if ever i saw one, that was the only part of his first fight that stood out.
I only just now got to do this fight with the steam release of KH, it’s bittersweet, I used to try and find ways to like find a crack in the chapel walls somewhere, like I was so desperate for more KH I was hoping they’d hidden him somewhere lol
I know i have to reach level 80 to have some possibility to win, but today i was too curious to see how hard this boss is... it was a mistake. I had level 66 and seeing my health bar reduced to half after one hit literally terrorized me. I felt like i really got that hit...
Unrelated but this song feels like you're in foggy terrain, and unknown to you there's a massive, hungry spider lurking in the fog; inching closer..and closer to you.
nope it was YX. he can use both ethernal blades and a keyblade. (both of which had the same color) plus when he resets time, he summons clones who have teh same ethernal blades. the fact they have the same theme is a dead giveaway
I waited 15 fucking years to have my chance at this bastard in English.... he was.. a let down. Level 80 and I curbed stomped him. Still a savage fight tho, worth it
He was so much easier to fight in KH2. I wonder if it's because during his first encounter he didn't have all of the special powers he achieved in KH2 and he had no experience fighting nobodies.
Different gaming mechnics in a nutshell. I grantee you if the battle engine from KH1 was used for KH2 it would be just has hard if not harder than the first.
what if the ethereal bladesWERE his keyblade? and it only transforms into clock handles when he time travels? Example: only when he's stuck with the reality shift clock does he actually pull out his blades. i'm thinking his clock WAS the keyblade powering the time machine!
Really? I lived through that and wasn't actually aware it had suction after the initial one. I just went to her side and stood there. Not sure if glitch or not... will have to play again.

Donald and Goofy: HE'S A SITH LORD. YOU'RE NO MATCH FOR HIM!!!
Sora: Sith Lords are my specialty!!!
Beast: 😈
its cool that they ended up putting this in 2
Xemnas...he knew sora was of no threat, there whe was, playing with you. What a cunning man.
You could even say, an enigmatic man.
1:40 gives me some Jak and Daxter vibes.
Specifically Jak 3, desert themes
Because...
No one knows what happened to you when you don't come out of your house for five days.
You were stuck on unknown Xemnas.
Dissapeared.
this guy is harder then all 2.5 remix xemnas fights combined
+Nicholas Hinds very different battle mechanics. In KH1 there are no reaction commands to aid you. But at the same time that is what made the first IMO superior than the second. It was far more challenging.
+Mistress Kixen the worst part is I'm playing on proud mode(hardest difficulty for the game)
Nicholas Hinds I already beat him in proud mode with the Kingdom key at that. With the right items, and avoiding that move that you have to click the right command to get out off he isn't all that hard.
Oh
Not really, any xemnas from 2.5 data battles is harder than this guy
Now this was a secret boss the mystery, the teasing of the next villain, and the brilliant music 🙏👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Xemnas: *just testing sora*
also Xemnas: *uses his best fucking weapons*
Xemnas are you trying to kill sora or test him? I can't tell cause you're using your BEST weapon Interdiction instead of your default weapon Malice!
The beginning actually kinda reminds me of Zelda Twilight Princess music.
Xemnas wanted a heart. Xehanort wanted knowledge.
And Ansem wanted D A R K N E S S
Someone pointed out this version of Disappeared sounded darker than the KH2 version.
Song that plays when you miss the bus in the morning
Fun fact: xemnas in kh1 is weak to gravity and it’s stuns him for like 5 seconds
Secondary fun fact: in kh1 zantetsuken does gravity damage
Third fun fact: you get zantetsuken from Kurt Zisa
Fun fact #4: Kurt Zisa is a pushover
Fun fact five: xemnas won’t use his command menu attack if you have a summon active
When I first saw him in like. Dam I'm about to get rekt. Swings zero damage. Dies n proceeds aaahhhhhhggg
i love this song and now I can do the boss fight in kh Hd 1.5 remix! :D
It's like how Terra can't do nearly as much stuff in BBS as he could in KHII:FM -_-
The most nightmare fuel of this fight is the fact you are clearly not ready for this. KH1's combat wasn't design for a KH2 boss fight, this is something the franchise wasn't able to repeat as all games after 2,both Sora and the player has the speed necessary to deal with the enemy. Even Young Xehanort, with practice, isn't that hard. In KH1 you don't had that speed, you are at the mercy of the enemy.
plot twist: this wasn't current time Xemnas and instead Time Travel'd Xemnas from KHIII
Seriously *PISSED TF OFF* that this was left off of Melody of Memories.
And the funny thing is, the same happened to Y-Xehanort in Dream Drop Distance. Oh the irony.
Lol...ppl seem to think this battle is the secret one in BBS...wrong this is ur first battle with Xemnas in kh 2
xemnas was a secret boss in kh1
And for the secret one in BBS, it was Young Xehanort. He uses the Ethereal Blades but later through time he uses his Keyblade. Example: Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. He can still use his Ethereal Blades
Critical Mode:

To be fair, his whole boss battle was a reminder that we used to get owned by this guy, right down to his ability to RETRY THE FIGHT!!!
I kid you not, that had to be a "retry" reference if ever i saw one, that was the only part of his first fight that stood out.
I had to Load game every time
Me on Xbox:chooses my Lvl 100 proud save with him not defeated to fight again at night time and sometimes early mournings
Indeed
Xemnas's ethereal blades don't change shape quite the same way those light rods do.
I only just now got to do this fight with the steam release of KH, it’s bittersweet, I used to try and find ways to like find a crack in the chapel walls somewhere, like I was so desperate for more KH I was hoping they’d hidden him somewhere lol
Much like the boss battle, this version is so much better than the KHII version.
yes here in Final Mix he was hard badass
It'll be up soon :)
I know i have to reach level 80 to have some possibility to win, but today i was too curious to see how hard this boss is... it was a mistake. I had level 66 and seeing my health bar reduced to half after one hit literally terrorized me. I felt like i really got that hit...
Man you can say that again I’m around lvl 69 but I kinda wants tackle him head on but sheeexh it’s hard lmao
Unrelated but this song feels like you're in foggy terrain, and unknown to you there's a massive, hungry spider lurking in the fog; inching closer..and closer to you.
nope it was YX. he can use both ethernal blades and a keyblade. (both of which had the same color) plus when he resets time, he summons clones who have teh same ethernal blades. the fact they have the same theme is a dead giveaway
this is xemnas wdym? yx's theme is dark impetus and yx's weapons are blue not red
youre on the wrong song
Best fight ever.
I waited 15 fucking years to have my chance at this bastard in English.... he was.. a let down. Level 80 and I curbed stomped him. Still a savage fight tho, worth it
So intimidating
he says "so it wasn't a fallacy"
He was so much easier to fight in KH2. I wonder if it's because during his first encounter he didn't have all of the special powers he achieved in KH2 and he had no experience fighting nobodies.
Different gaming mechnics in a nutshell. I grantee you if the battle engine from KH1 was used for KH2 it would be just has hard if not harder than the first.
well, Xehanort only wanted knowledge, not quite evil but incredibly dark
guess it just shows how strong sora got during 2. (roxas and xion gaining experience probably helped alot too.)
KH2 was a much easier game thanks to reaction commands. I had no idea what would happen when I started playing KH1 after I beat the sequel...
sounds like zelda twilight princess at the start
@Ghost26968 I believe he said " oh it wasn't a fantasy (or fallacy(I dunno XD)) any way that's what he says in kh2 after beating him
what if the ethereal bladesWERE his keyblade?
and it only transforms into clock handles when he time travels?
Example: only when he's stuck with the reality shift clock does he actually pull out his blades. i'm thinking his clock WAS the keyblade powering the time machine!
The way he fights with the power of his light sabers. He reminds me of Kylo Ren 😈 That unknown dude looks hella badass!! That boss fight was insane!!
Kylo Ren has nothing on this guy.
Xemnas's eternal blades just look like lightsabers
this one is so better than the one in the 2nd one
Going through gamefaqs there was a time where people thought this was future Sora.
Really? I lived through that and wasn't actually aware it had suction after the initial one. I just went to her side and stood there.
Not sure if glitch or not... will have to play again.
but you have to admit, it WAS a fun battle
Unknown in Birth by Sleep is Young Xehanort so it's essentially still only Xemnas.
Chris2Hikari ..? You mean Mysterious Figure? Yeah that’s Young Xehanort in BBS... Xemnas was No Heart...
That seems to be a thing with kh super-bosses. Maybe julius will be in the next game...
Nope. He stayed in DDD.
Panic attack in song form!
Come closer.......
Hmmm... No. It doesn't sound right. Something's missing...
...Yeah. The constant sound of dodge rolling accompanied by the low-health alarm. Sounds about right!
to tell you the truth it a good one.
