- One of the hardest challenges in the game with deadly restrictions. Terra can be beaten pretty easily if you loop his DM and use limit form. However, if you don't loop him in the last phase he can be extremely difficult. The no hit restriction is super annoying to go for because you can do nothing wrong and get hit by the little canons that surround you in phase 3. This happened to me several times where I got hit for no reason which is very frustrating. If you don't time the second part of the DM perfectly then you will probably get hit without glide. I have done this on my channel before but with a few less restrictions.

This fight might have been avoided if Sora didn't spawn his Keyblade as soon as the armor talked. This kid is seriously on edge.

To be fair, there have been multiple instances of people with keyblades immediately being hostile and attacking him, so it would make sense for that reaction

sweet memories is more useful in the final mix than in the original. so if he were to do this with a not so good keyblade, i would heavliy vote Hidden Dragon. it has +2 to both strenght and magic and has the ability mp rage which will be utterly useless in a no damage run.
@@aultinbarltino on lvl1 stats don't matter because your below the damage floor. The only reason why you'd want a certain keyblade is for its ability. So sweet memories and hidden dragon would be the same in terms of damage.
There seems to be a misconception that the Sweet Memories is *the* weakest Keyblade. In terms of stats (strength), yes it's the weakest. In a no damage and no magic run (it has a +4 magic), it's ideal to be the weakest. But against this boss (especially on level 1 Critical Mode), it barely makes a difference. However, the Kingdom Key would be ideal in this case to be the weakest one. Why? It has a slightly shorter length than the Sweet Memories. It's just a slight difference (when compared with the Decisive Pumpkin and the Ultima Weapon) but I believe it affects the battle more than just strength stats. Distance is an important factor and you might miss a hit with a shorter Keyblade.

When you hate lingering will cause it's so insane but when you found the real story behind Terra's lingering will, it hits so different.
I know right the fact he thinks he’s fighting Xehanort and as soon as it triggers him he grabs his keyblade just before he gets up and the music starts
Outside of kingdom hearts 2 I love there lingering will but once I boot it up he can go to hell and the keyblade he rode in on

I don't think this fight is canon, otherwise it's really weird that Sora met a guy with a Keyblade and just never mentioned it to anyone ever.
If he saw Terra in his physical appearance, then I'm sure he would've recognized.

@@robovenom5530 since the ai always targets sora there's a way yo keep them from hitting your companions. However, lingering will is too fast with big hit boxes, so this task is near impossible especially with his first attack always going to hit Donald and goofy

I like the idea that the lingering will gets angry, not because of xehanort or anything, but because you literally die in one swing he can't seem to hit you, like he is getting mad because he's trying to kill a fly holding a toothpick while he's holding an anvil.

This is so impressive. I gave up on Critical Mode and went through again on Beginner, just to get the 100% achievements, but even on beginner this guy wrecks my face harder than any (non-optional) boss on Critical.
If this is how they represent Terra’s power in KH2, i’m Afraid of Aqua being an opponent.

Kh3 Critical mode is coming out tonight, so let’s see how they make it harder. Plus, they halved health and magic, decreased the chance of reaction commands showing up, nerfed magic attacks, and changed up enemy patterns.

Was Sora's running always this slow? Watching him run after playing KH3 it feels a little off
Yea, Sora used to be really slow and couldn't cast magic while running (only sliding or hovering).

No looping eh, I remember watching michaku tohunen's videos from waaay back, he did that before it was a thing.
But in his video he always triggers the revenge, and still manage to dodge the whip after, crazy stuff really, very tight timing after an explosion.

Edit : While watching it again, it seems you do looping strats. After some finishing leap combos you back away , instead of triggering the revenge.
When you trigger the revenge every single time and react to the chaos after, that's the true no loop experience..
For example, if terra was using the bow patern moveset, he would most definetly end up looping his moves if you didn't trigger the revenge each time. So the true loop doesn't depend on RNG for him to not loop his moves, you gotta combo him all the way and stuff.
I think only michaku tohunen was able to do this to this day. Unless someone else did it too.
This video is a masterpiece. As someone who had a hard time beating the Lingering Will at level 49 CM , I know how much work went behind this video. Dude, you definitely owned him at nearly his full potential (I say nearly because it would've been a pain in the ass to deal with the Glider attack or his magic attack). Props to you, your video deserves more views and respect.
Thank you man! This was hard to do the first time but I’ve improved a lot since this and I don’t have that hard of a time anymore. There are a few harder challenges that I’ve done in this game but Terra is still very tough.

Well, yeah. Lingering Will is *the* Superboss in this game.
He is harder probably since he has more moves but Sephiroth on lvl 1 without looping is still really tough, he kills you if you fuck up once and you have to react super quickly to his stuff.
Even with all the restrictions you did great!

I'm shocked that he gave you rising sun in both phases (pre-DM). How long did you have to wait to get RNG that good? And can you do this limited options version when he uses other attacks? Personally, I have the most trouble when he brings out the lasers and his bike at the same time.
I'm assuming MANY runs died to the notorious bike phase. Pretty much every other standard attack isn't too bad to dodge. Well, there is when he opens with the punch, which is undodgeable with these restrictions

How do you avoid him doing the twisty-loopy Keyblade Chaser rushes with the crystal bits shooting lasers at you? I've no clue as to how I can possibly avoid that (I've tried using Summons for the invincibility, but he does it a million times)!
His moveset is random. The OP must've gone through dozens of attempts before this one to get lucky enough not to have the glider or bow curse moves used against him. Still an impressive achievement though

And if you take air- finishers off, can you stun lock him in the air?
2 air combo pluses and no without finishers Sora would just stop attacking once he does all his normal hits
You can juggle him the whole fight with berzerk charge and horizonzal slashes but you have to time them very well otherwise he'll break out.
How no looping sora and terra attack and what is DM? Sorry i didnt understand english well
Not repeating the same combos, and looping the same attacks from terra. DM = Desperation move

How come he never did the bike attack or that thing that holds you in place?
Why is the boss always repeating the same attack patterns over and over? In my latest play he usually started gliding with the keyblade like a maniac only to switch with the invulnerability combo :/
Is there a specific reason you didnt go into air combos after launching him upward? I've never actually fought Lingering Will or played the games at all seriously, so I'm not a master at strategy and best ways to attack an opponent lol.
My guess though is to extend the damage chain? And if that's the case, then why not perform incomplete aerial combos and let him come back to the ground and hit him before he touches the ground?
I purposely mixed my combos up as part of my no looping Sora's attack restriction. I made sure I never repeated the same combo set twice in a row.

Framewraith Looping is when your opponent will do the same move and you know how to counter that move over and over again it will continue to use the same attacks. Its like you are controlling the fight instead of your opponent since you know how to counter all of your opponent's move sets. Hope it helps explaining it.
Only a few days ago I beaten this son of a keyblade in expert mode: I died so many times that I started wondering if I was still alive at least in the real world
what's the difference between no damage and no hit?
The drone things that LW can spawn can hit you and make you flinch if you touch them directly, but they don't deal damage.

How do you loop Terra? Every single time I faced him, he kept using his DM like there was no tomorrow and now I see you saying that we are the ones that trigger this, how exactly I'm triggering it?
By comboing him 3 times in a row
Basically terra will break our of your attacks after a certain point, this point is a count that increases when you attack a boss with different attacks adding more points, this is revenge value(sorry if you already knew this) by not hitting his revenge value in phase 3 terra will always do his DM, so will made sure to hit it to not loop him

still working on the data battles but i did try Terra a few times super hard. finished the data battles in kh3. i cant beat yazora yet. so for those who have beat Lingering Will and Yazora who is more difficult?
sephiroth takes a few tries but from playing the first time on ps2 to now the final mix on ps4. i was able to handle him. but LW and Yazora are a different monster
As someone who has beaten both on critical mode I would say that LW might be marginally more difficult than Yozora. They both took me about a full day (12 hours+) of attempts to beat (with guides) without insane restrictions like these. Yozora was trickier getting the timing down for blocking/dodging his attacks but LW has a smaller window of opportunity for attacking/healing and my personal feeling was that his moveset was more unpredictable than Yozora's (especially when he uses the effing bow curse).
TL;DR: Yozora hits weirder, LW hits faster and in more random ways. Both are beasts.
Some of the kh3 data fights were already harder than LW in my experience and yozora is a lot harder than him.
Lingering will kicked my ass A LOT of times during my first run, but once I have defeated him for the first time, he went down every other time after my first victory ; now he goes down in seconds.
Yozora still kicks my ass even after my first victory against him.
Not mentioning the fact that LW, like most kh2 enemies/bosses, has ton of cheese/broken strategies while Yozora doesn't have as much.
Sephiroth is so easy that its barely considered a superboss nowadays.
@@Chaos662545yozora is significantly faster, and his attacks including his DM is more difficult to avoid, but I will say lingering will is more unpredictable, but significantly easier to evade, MOST OF THE TIME

Can someone help me out here? Clearly that's Terra (or at least his conscience) and when he says that he met Sora before, he's referring to Riku. They met back on Destiny Island when Riku and Sora were just kids... But then he starts slowly saying Xehanort. Is this because Xehanort is starting to take over his conscience? Thats what leads to them fighting? Or is it because he thinks that Sora is Xehanort?

My head canon is that Sora lost this fight dead to rights. The only reason why he won is because it's a game. You were given a challenge and you HAD to win. A lore accurate fight Sora would've been creamed. And KH III supports this with Terranort having actually bodied Sora casually in ReMind and the Lingering Will is above even Terranort.
Well done...however I am 100% sure the Lingering Will got forced into a near 100% pattern of predictability he couldnt get himself out of, because not once was there a Keyblade Glider phase or Keyblade Bow phase.
I purposely didn’t loop him so he’d mix things up a bit. Sure the first rising sun phase was pretty easy since I am pretty familiar with his overall move set. The second phase I just reacted to whatever he did. Keyblade glider phase is awful rng since you can’t really get through it without insane luck or breaking my restrictions by using magic or guard if he does lasers and rising sun at the same time. I did this challenge again with kingdom key a couple weeks ago and got the phase where he used bow and ultima canon often. It’s just kinda random what patterns you get here but these restrictions make it more interesting still
