SM Megamall is now bigger than SM North EDSA. The gross leasable area of SM Megamall is now 506,435 square metres (5,451,220 sq ft). While the SM North EDSA's gross leasable area is just 482,878 square metres (5.2 million sq ft).
Check at wikipedia list of largest malls and btw the Dubai Mall is the largest mall by total area. The Dubai Mall is the 14th largest mall by gross leasable area. I always check it in wikipedia for some updates.

agreed, it's listed as 19th largest on Wikipedia, and if they added Nickelodeon Universe, it would be the 11th largest mall in the world. It's gonna be even larger since they're adding 5.6 million square feet for Phase II of MOA

I wonder if the South China mall is able to rent out some of its space. From what I understand, it was 90% vacant about 2-4 years ago.

wow so SM North Edsa (Philippines) was the biggest mall in the world during 1985. that's interesting.
Sm Mega Mall rank 13th for largest mall but now under renovating and expansion when finish this to become a largest mall in the country surpassing SM North Edsa

Just missed the Mall of America! If they added the square footage of the theme park it would be the largest mall in N. America & the 11th largest mall in the world.It's gonna be even larger in the next couple years, they're currently constructing "Phase II" of the Mall of America that will add 5.6 million square feet to MOA. MOA is the BEST! It also attracts 40 million people annually, which makes it the most visited mall in the world, and 40% of them are tourists from around the globe.TOP THAT!

SM Mall of Asia is in the Philippines, city of Manila. And as far as I know it's the 2nd biggest now due to recently built buildings!!

It should be the biggest mall in Africa but that doesn't mean that it is one of the Biggest in the whole world. Wikipedia did this list of top 10, so I'm pretty sure that it's correct.

Most are from Malaysia, the Phillipines and China. None from Europe or Japan. Just a couple very old ones from the US. Why do developping countries love huge malls so much? I'm genuinely curious.
