Well, technically antennae do not count towards official building height, but spires do as long as they do not exceeded 50% of the building's height. This is from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. (Yes, it's an official organization.) The question as actually gotten so controversial, that they now use 3 methods of measuring building height. 1. Architectural Height, which includes spires, but not antennae as the latter are typically not part of the official structure. (The one I just mentioned earlier, and the one that I personally use.) 2. Height to tip, which includes both. (This one's fair IMHO. I typically 3. Highest occupied floor, which is pretty self-explanatory, but it measures up until the floor-level of the highest occupiable floor of the building. (I personally hate this one. It should be to the highest roof, not floor. If it's to the highest floor, then many tall 1 story buildings suddenly lose like all of their height.)

I am a fan of the first skyscraper. The famous Empire State Building in New York City. Inaugurated in 1931.
I also like Taipei 101 it has a unique design 😉.
Interesting report.
Greetings from Germany...🍺👋
101 Its tall due to its antenna😅
I wish all The Empire State Buildings spire was included
Even though it was not included when it got built
With its spire it reaches 443 meters tall
Without it is 381 meters tall
If thespian was included
It would be the 3rd tallest NYC Building
Not really glad that they didn't include the spire
If you live in the past, then I suggest you choose a pyramid, that is eternal😂

That extra height creates an illusion. If you want your building to look taller, just add a long stick on top, like Malaysia's Merdeka 118, which feels like deception.
A super high-rise skyscraper located in Taipei, Taiwan, with a height of 508 meters, 101 floors above ground and 5 floors underground[5]. It is the tallest building in the world. It is currently the tallest building in Taiwan and the only building in Taiwan with a height of more than 500 meters and more than 100 floors.
Should we include the depth of the gutter and well?
