I agree that this track is amazing. I realized after playing it a bunch of times that this track through music tells a story. It starts off low and quickly picks up volume. The computerized percussion which opens the track seems more like the echos of a distant battle. Like how the sounds of gun shots echo through the air and gives it that reverb. More harsher, louder computerized percussion joins in shortly after, as you the listener either join the battle, or just caught up in it as it's very fast moving and brutal. The bass drums (deep booms) are distant explosions in the far off distance. The type that are bright blossoms of light, that reflect off of low lying clouds or distant fog of war, lighting up the whole sky for a moment or two before flickering out. The snare drums are more louder and up front, mirroring the pop rifle fire. More synthesized percussion is used in the mid ground, suggesting tank fire. 1:04-1:53 your more or less in the thick of it and the battle is joined. 2:00 the electric guitar around here in the mind eye suggests maybe a burnt out armored vehicle or wreckage. Both man and machine. 2:45 even louder synthesized percussion is used, this time giving the illusion of the slam/crash of recoil of an artillery piece. I envision a 88mm. It sounds too sinister to be say a 105 that the allies used. 3:06 after a short lull in the fighting to take stock of casualties and resupply (besides distant artillery fire, or explosions of the bass drums) the battle continues in earnest to an almost fever pitch with the previously mentioned artillery piece now joining in. 3:40 more wreckage and derbies the very high pitched prolonged whine of the guitar feedback? at 3:55 makes me think of a soldiers ears ringing when an explosion goes off next to them, too close for comfort. 4:47 the last echos of battle start to fade and the artillery piece that was in the forefront of the second half of the track falls silent, sides for a few stray distant explosions that also finally die out (bass drums). Was the artillery piece destroyed and knocked out? Or was the order to cease fire given? The battle ends as quickly as it began. Side note: Throughout the track (once in the beginning, and once at the end) there's even quicker percussion followed by a sharp roll of the drum, making it seem like a stop watch ticking and the sudden sharp roll for just a moment suggesting that some poor bastards number/time was up at the end of a bullet with his name on it.
Man this hit me hard, now I'm going through all the soundtracks from the Playstation version & I still remember sitting making up my own rhymes in my head or out loud to these songs, it's hard to pick a favorite but I do remember this one and like everybody else 1:04- 1:54 was special, this deserves to be on more than just this game, so ppl did not experience this game can hear what they've been missing out on. Such a masterpiece
i know this comment was a year ago but if you wanna loop the song use this listenonrepeat.com/watch/?v=Pl6hT7pizWY#Command_and_Conquer-_Red_Alert_1_-_Run_For_Your_Life just set it to the point where you want the loop to start and end and your all set
i still remember that track. it was used in the demo version for the third playable mission! it gave me the creeps back then as a kid whenever i played that mission.
I love that guitar throughout the song. I remember hearing the soundtrack used in Star Trek: Elite Force and I got reminded of this song hearing that same guitar.
In any case free to you to continue to debate on the title of the music me while waiting I run. I feel like a feeling of observation there. it is surely the GDI who find me.
I forgot I commented here. And I was apparently totally fucking wrong. This game takes place in the 50's and it IS alternate history WWII. Im a complete dumbass sometimes.

Frank Klepacki is Genius
And you too

1:04-1:53 I cant believe Frank didnt use more of it in this song, Its a perfect chorus for a song
Sounds pretty cool, it reminds me a bit of E1M1 from Doom
That's my favourite part
It’s so good.
The beginning could be used for an intro song to an action film from the 90's.. like Daylight or something
That piece kinda reminds me of bits from Max Payne 1's soundtrack.
Has a terminator feel
it does
Song, or movies?
"The Hunt for Sarah Connor".
The tunnel chase theme music from the first movie comes to mind for me.
@@ShogunMongol Definitely
Love this track, listen to it often especially when I’m out walking. 4:06 is particularly great.
This is honestly one of my favorite songs in the entire series.
Russian soldiers are listening to this while fighting in the ukraine.
Headphones cost more than the equipment of a russian military, so it's unlikely.
@@HaidashV True
This song seems like the Lend-Lease Act for Ukraine.
I really wished they loop 1:04-1:53
That part is amazing i can't believe Frank didn't use it more in this song.
i wish they would too. i have to play it over and over. its just that great.

This song only played during the mission where you had to escort engineers to control panels to stop nukes from hitting paris or london.
This song is fitting for this mission and the first Soviet mission. The one where you have to burn down that village.
Nice to see a fellow vegan here!
I thought it most suited the mission where the Soviet nuclear power plant is sabotaged. (Soviet Mission 7)
lies, i played the mission where you have capture an island and this music played.
i hear a tinge of Doom E1M1 in there, very cool.
i still remember that track. it was used in the demo version for the third playable mission!
it gave me the creeps back then as a kid whenever i played that mission.
How can I Run away from quality this good?

WWII lol. This game takes place in like the late 80's early 90's.
I forgot I commented here.

to add to this I believe red alert 2 takes place in the 70's
@@TheJohnmarston72 yea 1971 or 1972 dont remember which. The red alert universe is definitely the most strange and unique of the three.
