  • Thought I would try one of these Lixada Titanium Wood stoves.
First impressions were really positive considering I purchased this with a titanium alcohol stove for very little money as they were in the Amazon sale. All was well until I looked at the actual functionality of the little titanium stove. Boil plate placement is a little high and not suitable for a Trangia alcohol stove due to it being a really tight fit in the alcohol burner hole.
Little bit disappointed and thought it needed improving so did away with the burner plate and drilled some holes just a little lower than original slots. Added a couple of pins and now it it a much better stove. of course that is just my opinion, you may disagree. It is not perfect but for a budget titanium option it suits my needs.
Any comments regarding further improvements would be most welcome.
If you have any experience with using one of these feel free to share your thoughts.
Size wise it is a good solid unit and cannot complain about the build quality so I thought is represented excellent value for money. That is if purchased in a sale.

I had the same experience. Those sort of stove are useless at burning wood, couldn't get enough heat to boil a cup of water. Gave up with a Trangia as I couldn't put the thing out with the snuffing cap. Couldn't get it to work with my homemade alcohol burners.
I no longer have the tools i made to cut slots in sheet metal. I made a two pronged centre punch that could make a chain of holes accurately spaced apart, when drilled left a millimetre or so between them. That was removed using a punch made from a bit of broken power hacksaw blade. Worked surprisingly well.

Why not grind 3 more slits at optimal height or even drill holes for steel pegs? Although I'm sure you could find something to raise the burner to the optimal level? Seems like a good deal to me and surely it's not that difficult to grind a mm or so off the hole to easily fit the Trangia? EDIT: my bad, I commented halfway through 🙂

Well spotted, I tried a different mic set up and did not realise until editing. By that time it was too late ☹️ Another lesson learned so hopefully will avoid that in the future 👍
