Absolutely perfect video I needed to watch :) I'm right at the stage where new growth is coming on, and as a first time dragonfruit grower, I had no idea, til this video, what to do and how to give the plants the best opportunity. One question about the garden tape - why doesn't it inhibit the growth of the trunks? I'm using rubber garden cord and I'm worried I'm going to cut off the growth of the stalks.

Hi Richard my name is Kevin, your videos have helped me so much, I'm a beginner I'm going to build two trellises the way you instruct on your video and start with them, I'm going to need some cuttings obviously and I suppose that means I would start with 8 total cuttings, again per your video, do you have a favorites list of varieties, and I wouldn't mind some of them being self sterile, I would actually enjoy learning how to help the plants get pollinated, collecting pollen and so forth. Anyways thanks for your consideration, and keep up the good work, you're very cheerful and always carry a lot of joy in your videos and that is beautiful!

Hey! Thanks for putting this video out! I just started growing my four dragonfruit varieties, and they've just rooted. I think my plants took longer to root (I planted them in December) because recently here in Louisiana the temperatures got around 10 degrees fahrenheit, so I had to bring them inside frequently and they didn't get a lot of sun. I'm actually going to use tomato trellises when I transplant them from their little pots that I put them in for the winter to move them around easily. What are your thoughts on using trellises?

This came right on time because I planted mine last fall too (I'm in FL 10a) and while they are well-rooted, out of 7 cutting I only have like 4 total new small nodes, so I'm really hoping they take off now that it's heating up.
Question: my new growth is more yellow than the main cutting and I have some orange rust. I'm treating the rust with copper, but what does new growth looking yellow mean? Thanks

I feel like a mother who had to spend a week from their newborn it grow so much. It has 3 shoots that are really long but I'm terrified of it getting bigger and not having a big enough pot for it.

I don’t see why not mix and match varieties. They don’t seem to outcompete each other

They say it is almost impossible to tell them apart once they grow into each other. I have one pot with mixed cuttings though (all where I don't know which variety they are)

I grow different variety in 1 pot to maximize my space. This is also to see if I like the variety enough to put multiple of it in one pot. The issue will be they can get mixed up as they mature but if you’re good at keeping track of what branch is which variety then you’ll be okay.

I have a question. I have an established dragon fruit plant but I want to have 4 varieties. Could i graft 3 different varieties to the same plant? I'm just getting into this and was wondering if this is something people do. I sent you a msg on Facebook messenger about cuttings and and purchasing a few different varieties.

I have subscribed to your soon to be website, but am wondering if prior to it being online whether there is a way to purchase cuttings from you. The sour patch kids variety has me interested, probably just based on the name (actually totally based on the name). I don't know where you are located other than being in SoCal, but I'm in San Marcos, so I'm sure we are fairly close in proximity. I would have sent you a private message, but your "about" page didn't have an email address posted (maybe there is another avenue of doing this that I am unaware of?). If that isn't possible, no problem, just thought I'd ask. Great channel btw. I've learned so much from watching your videos.

Hi Richard, i finally trellis my dragon fruit (Palora and Giant Orange). However I notice my palora are very thin while growing, is tis normal?

Does E1 show when to transfer your cuttings in a bigger pot? Eg if my cutting has some new growth is that when I transfer it?

Yes Episode 1 talks about everything you need to get started and also transferring them into the new pot.

What kind of sun do these need? I’m in Phoenix and I got two on my patio. I’m a little scared to put these out in my yard now that the sun is starting to get brutal.
