Notice he bypassed the stage that actually shows the flowers blooming. He had to wait for the flowers to bloom so he could polinate them and start turning into fruit before he cut off the branches and replace them with the short branches. Too many fake videos like this out there.

The dragon fruit after 200 days are clearly not the same cuttings. Not saying it's not possible to grow in this way, but in my experience it takes MUCH longer than 200 days for cuttings to get big enough to produce a single flower and they will not grow longer if the tips are cut. Additionally I find cuttings typically branch from the nodes even if the tip isn't cut, so they definitely didn't just grow longer and suddenly produce fruit.

Dragon fruit cactus branches won't grow from cut ends. They will only start growing new branches from any of the thorn nodes because the end that was cut will just dry up and scab over. Only mature branches will develop flower bud usually after 18 to 24 months.

Great video! Yes I am in it for the long haul, patience and time! Nothing is over night! I currently was given two GIANT specimens @ 6 feet and 7 feet tall. My substrate will be coco coir with great nutrients directly in the ground. But the coffee trick I will use, also banana peels. I hope it works! Thank you for the video.

In my opinion the cutting will not grow but will give multiple branches leading up the trellis. The method of preparing he has needs to be tested. I have grown dragon fruits in my farm. I only put liquid manure every 6 months. But micro nutrients is very important for the soil every 45 days. I used the single pole method with four plants per pole and tyre on top for the branches to fall on .

Do you keep them pruned so they grow strait up with no branches growing out ?
I’d like to know how to do this please. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I have a small garden and I’m very interested in doing this method.

That’s weird. First, how does water move to the roots? What’s the point of covering the soil with plastic? And the cuttings behave strangely. No side branches? At all? Did he stick the flower buds on? What’s the point of adding coffee after getting buds? The whole thing doesn’t make sense.

Really? How come the cuttings are up to the 2nd stick high and when they are flowering they are up to the 5th stick bit the tops are cut so they should of thrown new shoots to get that tall they done just stretch I have plenty of dragon fruit plants to know. Please make a real video don't trick people.
