This video made the job supper easy. The instructions were ok, but the video brought it all together.A good job and thanks.Oh, and the box they came in were just the right thickness to make a few square pieces for putting a little pressure on the tape.
Excellent Video, Thank you I've installed my (AVS 194805) on my 2020 GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab. The searching I've done, nobody was as precise as your video. Right down to the plastic clip for the rear window. The manufactor's instructions were vague about this clip. When I did my dry fit, I also did as you putting one end into channel then the other then sliding to top without the need to force or bend the visor as i"ve seen so many others do. Unfortunately I received a bad batch. I contacted AVS and after sending pics of the warped vent shades, They are sending me replacements. I got push back for not being able to roll windows up/down for the 72 hours from the wife but I guess these things happen. Thanks again
I agree with every single thing this guy does except keeping your windows closed with the cardboard in them for 72 hours. That’s 48 hours longer then you need. I’ve been installing these for 10 years now and I’ve never heard of anyone leaving them in that long. 24 hours is more then enough time for the adhesive to bind. Besides that excellent video!
I speculate that it depends on the temperature. Maybe 24 hours is okay for warmer weather, but when it's cold it may take longer. Again, only speculating.
This was just what I was looking for because the other ones that I looked up had the shields attached to the outside and mine are the same type that you are talking about. Thanks for the great instructions.
I had to use my dremel to shave some of the plastic off on the inside edge of my back window. Also had to use super glue on the inside edges because the double sided tape would not stick.
My front window driver side catches the edge of the visor and most times will not let the window roll all the way up unless I guide it using a piece of cart board. How do i fix this problem? My back visor bows Inward to the point where it touches the window. How do I fix that problem also? TAI
3 days before you can roll the window down? I'd like to see what the manufacturer says about that since there's no written instructions that came with mine today, terrible!
I had visors on a previous vehicle. I could the wind noise when driving . Is this because maybe they weren’t installed properly? Thinking about get some on my new vehicle but I don’t want to hear the wind noise.
5* Video , Ok Reading comment ,I understand the cardboard trick. I live in a warm to hot climate. So for me I world use one day for it to stick . If it said apply in a certain degree range , I’d follow instructions. I’m take old one off ,so that track ,Has To Be Clean. GOD Bless
Do these do any better job of cutting down wind noise than the type you attach over the top of the window (attached to the door body above the window)? I don't care about rain, just wind noise. My 02 silverado is extremely annoying at 65mph.
My front windows keep coming down. Also I’m having to hold the visors so the window can go up, I have a 2023 F 150. Also there are no insert pins in my package. I might have to return these.
Thank you, I installed these on my 2020 accord and 3 came off. I'm thinking I didn't abrade well enough and am getting ready to try this again! What should I use to abrade? 3m red scotchbrite?
I tried to install these on my 2019 Silverado with the auto-up drivers window. The window won't close because it hits the visor. Any suggestions before I send them back?
I found a whole set in the junkyard yesterday, but had no knowledge about the plastic clips for the rear. Do you know of anything I can use in place of those? Thanks in advance..
I followed the same steps when installing a set onto my maxima. Three days later I lowered my window and upon raising it again, it caught the vent visor and the visor literally exploded. 🤬🤬🤬
I was wondering when Taking the visors off will it leave adhesive stuck on the inside of the channels? If so would using a heat gun make it easier to take those off?
Was wondering the same... Not a fan of having to use self adhesive tape to fasten these. My old Subaru outback has deflectors (OEM) which clipped into place for cleaner removal.
do you ever have a problem with them not clearing the window and window doesnt want to roll all the way up. ps I just watched this and left cardboard up. let's see after a few days if the window clears the vent visor. fingers crossed.
@@raylegend808 for the most part I have no trouble. Every now and then one of them will catch. When summer starts Imgonna keep window rolled up and stick it In the sun. Thanks for the reply
Hey there! You do have to scuff the surface for proper adhesion but that does not destroy the channel. If you ever decide to remove the visors, it takes some work, but that can also be done without damaging the channel. If you're concerned about it, AVS also makes visors that securely attach to the paint on the outside of the of the channel with 3M automotive grade tape, and they look pretty great too!
Hey John, you have to gently "bump" the windows up while pulling the visor away from the door, in order to relieve the pressure off the window as it goes up. Then leave the windows up for a couple days so it can form a memory. Hope that helps!
Hey there, it depends on the application, but in general, you'd wand to slowly pry the 3M tape away from the channel with a plastic pry tool, while the window is down. Hope that helps!
Now this guy is very detailed on the installation he explains a word for word what is you do when installing and the window seal I really like that

Really good tips for installation...particularly the cardboard "shoehorn" trick!

I'm sure he suggests the 72 hours because that's what AVS recommends in the instructions.
@@GCharlesE I watched the AVS installation video. They recommend 24 hours.
FYI, it’s says so in the instructions 72 hrs.

Right on!
5:24 in my set i received 8 of those clips, would i be using those clips on all windows 2 per window?
Nice Clear instructions. Well done good sir!
Again, great tip using cardboard. Thanks for the video, it turned out great on my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

What is the rubber that gides the window called
Ok, how do I remove them? I would assume just pull them out but would like to check on that prior

I can't get a match to fit my 99 Crown Victoria I'm desperately trying to find in Channel deflectors. It should be easier than this
this it the only video. Awesome instruction

Yes
great tips 👍🏻 gracias guero
At least yours came with the adhesive tape on the section that is above the mirror. Mine came with nothing there so it just flaps 😒
How do you if it goes in the different spots?

You probably put it in the wrong channel.
Super helpful! Thanks!

Is the outdoor temperature very important for longevity? It's about 45 to 60 here.
I called the factory and they said anything over 60 is good. I've been waiting three weeks here in Cleveland but am doing mine today.

It does. I removed some old cracked ones and it ripped the inside rubber with it when I tried to remove it.
