Awesome presentation. Learned a few new things and found a couple plugins I can add to my collection. Of course I dare not try this with OBS 28 yet...But the one thing that was not in this video and maybe you have it in another video is some advanced tweaking, like setting delay on your audio inputs. We do sound from both our NDI Propresenter MAC, and our X32 which have different latency times, and I have not yet gone into setting up an HDMI cam that again will have yet another video delay that may or may not match the sound coming from my X32. Would love to get more into the audio settings down the road.

Very good video with a LOT of good and accurate information. I am brand new to OBS (and broadcasting in general). I would like to see a video showing the Studio function (preview window) in OBS and also a video on actually USING OBS showing a sample of how the tech would operate OBS during a broadcase. Hi AJay, I've competed 2 services thank God with just the basics. I can preview the camera and closing slide (still). However, the client provides her intro and offering slides that have movements. For some reason I cannot preview these but I can go straight to live with them. Am I missing a step?
Thanks so much for the tutorial. I have a question. When using a physical mixer at the front of the house, and sending that mix out through a separate bus for the live stream, is it okay to add audio filters in the OBS to that original mix? I need to clean up some raspy and pitchy sounds that are making their way to the live stream but are not in the board mix (sounds great on the headphones). Not sure where they are coming from, but I know that if I use those filters, it going to affect the entire mix - voice, piano, guitar - rather than a single channel because that isn't the way the stream is set up. How will that work? I feel like I just need to clean up the vocals, but it's going to squash everything. Any suggestions?

If at all possible I would do this on separate systems but if it needs to be on the same system, some extra memory and extra video Outputs on your GPU is all that is needed

So pretty much everything presented works on Mac except the animated lower thirds, right? Any thoughts on how to do that on the Mac?
Everything is the same except audio as it is added as a separate source for your scenes
Will your recommended PC spec list be able to stream at 4K resolution? You mentioned that you stream at 4K resolution, but you only showed 1080p on this video. I want to buy the exact same specs as you recommended, but I want my church to stream at 4K.
Technically this system could but I would go with a 5700g and double the memory to 32gb

I don’t play anything I don’t have a license for. CCLI is good but it can’t cover everything especially the bad actors claiming music they don’t own
Hi name is Ted from the Camarillo SDA Church and we have mediashout 6 on a mac and going to our PC streaming computer into vmix what we are trying to do for the last 6 yrs or so is do the songs over camera what do we need to do your videos our great from what I have seen thanks Ted We just want to do words over camera with no background . I think i have watched every video on Mediashout6 but they do not tell how to output from mediashout 6 to vmix without background but with just the words. thanks again Im with you hands down for PC for Live Streaming or doing any broadcast for Video production.
For VMix, you only need to bring in the feed from MediaShout with a solid background or transparent background. THis can be over NDI, through a capture card, etc. That new mediashout layer will be set as an overlay over your camera and then do a color key to remove the solid background if you are sending one from mediashout

The red lines are for resizing the source. Select your source and do for to screen to make sure it isn't off screen
Hello. I have a problem and I need help. I set up a scene that welcomes visitors and informs then that the call will be starting soon. I have music playing that I can hear on OBS, it doesn't come through to Zoom. To make matters worse, when I'm the only one on the Zoom call I can see myself, but as soon as another person joins in I can no longer see my camera. Please help.

What issues are you having downloading OBS?
We use OpenLP for the presentation of song slides and sermons and another laptop for OBS livestream connected to 2 iphones (placed in different locations) using OBS dot stream app. We are also using the aux-usb cable to get the audio from our sound mixer.
Is there a way we can get the lyrics from OpenLP to the OBS in another laptop as lower thirds?

I am using a Mac Mini with an Atem Mini Pro and obs V30. I have the all of global audio settings disabled but the video capture device does not have any other settings to change the audio input. And when I add an audio input capture it doesn’t recognize the audio. Do you have any suggestions?
With the Mac you have to add the audio with an audio capture input then select the ATEM for your audio input in OBS

I would just pull audio from the X32 directly to OBS via USB and then set custom audio in OBS and select the X32 as your audio source on the video capture device selected in OBS

Good morning, I am trying to connect my audio using a Rockville RPM1470 14 Channel 6000w Powered Mixer, I have a FoMaKo PTZ Camera HDMI 20x Optical Zoom, HDMI PTZ Camera and the ATEM MINI PRO. I been trying to connect audio, I do have XLR cable running from the mixer to the ATEM MINI but I'm not get any sound when live streaming, Do you have any ideas how i can solved this issue? Thanks
What outputs are you using from your mixer to the atem?
If you have a CCLI license can you play any music you want?
No you can't. Music has to be covered by ccli and they don't cover everything
I am still using OBS 25. I'm afraid of updating OBS for fear of breaking something that is currently working. How do you determine if an update is safe to do? Your content is so useful! I built our streaming computer in 2020 and set up OBS based off of one of your videos back then, and it's still going strong for our livestream! Thank you!
Glad the videos help. I personally have a dummy PC I test on first before updating my main system.
With that said I ran v29 at my church without any issues
@@AJaytheCEO I have no extra PCs to test with. Can I go straight from v25 to v29, or do I have to install incremental updates? Do you keep your PCs updated with each new version of things (OBS, NDI, Windows updates), generally speaking
You can go straight to v29. You will need to install the latest NDI plug-in but if it failed you could always reinstall v25
@@AJaytheCEO Thanks! One more question - we have the computer build with the Ryzen 3 3200 G. From back in 2020, I had set up with x264 as encoding. Should I have been using hardware encoding with that? What can this computer handle? Also, we have a Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Dual-X Edition Graphics Card, but the computer is not recognizing it. Would that be better? We are noticing our audio in RUclips is not sounding the same as the mix we are sending it (a dedicated DAW mix from a sound treated studio). Monitoring what is coming IN to OBS does not sound the same as what comes out in RUclips. What could be causing the degrading of audio? Is it my encoding? I am set to 'veryfast' as well. Thanks for any insight you can provide!

I have not don't lighting yet so I am a novice but I can help where I can. A lot can be done with your cameras to compensate until lighting is added. What type of cameras are you using?
@@AJaytheCEO Right now I am using a one Panasonic 891 4k. Looking to get ptz soon, real soon. We will get three of those for ours live streaming. A must have.
What ptz camera are good for a church application 65ft length and 35ft wide.
I've used a bunch for that distance 20x. Fomako, AVKANS, SMTAV, Prisual, PTZOptics, any will work great for that location and distance

How can I use two Pictures in one Picture?
I want to show our Video screen on upper right (1st Camera) with zoomed in image, 2nd Camera below it and 3rd Camera on left with the first two super imposed upon it. Otherwise the space below the 1st camera image is wasted.
You need to add each of these cameras as an input into the given scene and position them accordingly
Thank you for the video this has helped greatly with our church. I do have a question that I am confused on and at a loss. The microphone connected to my laptop and running through OBS does not recognize singing as speaking. It drops out every time we sing and we lose audio. As long as the preacher is talking it works great, but as soon as we sing, it drops out. Any idea on how I can fix this or why this is happening?
Most likely your computer is running some type of Ai noise surpression. This is a setting on Zoom as well that ignores music. What type of computer are you using?

We have a line going from Aux to the blue input in back of the computer and we have a line going from Phones on the soundboard to the headphone jack in front of computer. When I click on "device" on OBS audio, it gives options of 1. Speakers/Headphones Realtek(R) Audio, 2. HDMI Extender Intel(R)Display Audio, 3. Speakers Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K Audio, 4. Headphones TaoTronics - which is the plug in speaker under the monitor. I still show NO audio on the OBS showing. We're using the Yamaha MG20XU. Can you help me?
Clock on the speaker in the lower right and go to sound properties and then make sure your input device is not disabled

I’m currently running an ATEM mini pro extreme with OBS. Audio is coming into the ATEM via my mixer directly into the “Mic 1” input. I then have the ATEM connected to my PC via USB C -> USB-A SS. My problem is the audio during my livestream suddenly stops working after so many minutes on OBS. The video itself is working fine, but the audio signal just drops. The audio signal on the ATEM multiview, however, does not drop so I’m thinking the problem is with OBS. Any idea why this is happening?
I should mention that I close OBS, restart it, and then the audio signal goes back to working again but then stops again.

Make sure the USB devices are not set to power save. Go to your device manager (Windows key + pause/break)
Go to the USB devices section at the bottom go through each devices properties to uncheck allow windows to manage power for this device

Launch OBS in administrator mode and see if you get a firewall message to approve

I did something similar. That will work and you can use the picture in picture to have the zoom input on the screen or just just it full screen

You could add a window capture of the browser viewing the youtube video. Make sure you capture the audio as well. This can be done in a new scene or just add a window capture source in an existing scene

I downloaded OBS Studio and installed it on Windows. When I tried launching it, a pop up came up saying, 'obs .dll not found'. Is there a solution for this?
Reinstall it by right clicking on the install file and run as administrator. Also there should be some windows files that install with it

Pc computer are always collect virus, Why do u recommend a virus prone computer
Viruses only get on computers when installing unknown programs or going to sketchy places. Windows defender handles most of any issues happen but these computers don't go to any location where this viruses can be installed on the system and no additional software is ever installed on them

I REALLY appreciate this video on the FUNdamentals of using OBS for ministry. I understand your reason for focusing on the Windows platform. However, I'm a Mac user. I downloaded your bundle, as I need to get up and running quickly - and I tried the manual methods and weren't as successful as hoped. Initially it didn't locate any files. Then I was able to redirect to the locations, as mentioned in the instructions. However, there are three files still missing: va-01122020.mov, ending.mov and Intro-Outro.mov. How can I get these?

Hello, sorry these were files I thought I removed as they were specific at Antioch Baptist. These are not needed. Ending_mov should be under the ending folder "\OBS Complete Bundle\Ending"
@@AJaytheCEO I did find it. Thank you very much and for this video! BTW what program was used to created the mov files in your bundle? And also, I'm using version 28, and no issues to report. :)
