- Hi, this is a video on how to lube your Akko magnetic switches! There's also a comparison of lubed vs unlubed at the end of the video!

Finally, been waiting for this. Thank you so much!!! You got a sub!
Thank you very much for watching 🙏
First time seeing someone bag-lube stems
Yeah, it's not very common.. But works great!
Akko made a good looking board with some game features, but its sound is really underwhelming. Good job, mate, you did this sound a lot better
Thank you, they've actually updated the switches since this video was made.. They sent me enough for the whole keyboard. Might make a new video about it 👍
Found it!! Thanks for making this video!!
No worries 🙏
hey would the m1w sp-he or the m1w v3 he make a difference in sound? (same switches and same mods and dye sub pbt keycap)
Recently bought one of these keyboards as my first "custom", if i can call it that, and this is something i will be doing once i get them. Do you also think they benefit from filming? Great video. Thanks!
Sorry for the late reply, filming always helps. Did it work good for you?
I thought you would add the housing into another bag and shake them all too :))
Hahaha never tried that before, should I? 😅
With these magnetic switch PCBs having no switch holes, have you found the tape mod to help sound at all?
i taped mod my akko mod007b he and yea it helped, it made it sound more poppy and thocky much more compared to traditional switches with a cover on the bottom of the housing
@@darkxneyt3968 looks like the akko mod he board is quite different, having sockets for mech switches as well, which i did not know. the board im using now, the AS K85 HE, didn't sound much different with a tape mod, and im wondering if that's related to the PCB not having any holes or sockets. very different than the akko. i have a mod007b he on order and am eager to try it out
Sorry for the late reply, tape mod worked great!
Does it effects the magnetic switch performance ?
Not what I noticed while I still had the keyboard.
can you do the same but hand lubed pleeeeease?
edit: I'm confused did you lube it twice or is one method bag lube and the other method is hand lubing?
@@ponkwyt I bag lubed the stems but then used a brush to evenly spread the lube. Hope that helps.
@@QuietTechYT would it make a difference if I hand lubed it?
@@QuietTechYT and also would the m1w sp-he make a difference in sound because I'm looking for an aluminium build which I would perform the same mods on
my keys on the apex pro tend to stuck in pressed positions is this the way to fix it?
Then there might be some dirt in there, a good clean should work!
could you send the link where you got that switch opener from would really help out 👌👌😊😊
I don't have the link for that exact seller because they stopped selling them, but I do have a link to the exact same one but from a different seller
a.aliexpress.com/_EHJ0oE3 hope that helps!
Thank you so much, man!
No worries 👍
On this keyboard if i only do a tape mod, can i get a good sound like this? Better than stock or is required to lub?
With the new updated switches, it could sound similar to this. But the old ones need some lube. Hope that helps!
Thanks a lot. I buy this keyboard 10 days ago. Waiting to get it at home yet. I hope will be the new switches so. Thanks
Hey dude great video! Sorry if this is unrelated but i cant find any info anywhere. Do you know what heavier springs would work with these switches without messing with the magnetic hall effect?
Hey, unfortunately I have no idea.. I haven't tried switching them out yet myself! But I hope you can find your answer somewhere else
Do you know anyone that I can send to for lining it’s to much work
@@Key-switch I build keyboard all the time, so depending on where you live. You could send it to me, but for a price ofc.

Стабилизаторы очень плохие.... ты их дорабатывал? Свитчи стали звучать значительно лучше по сравнению со изначальным вариантом. Но мне кажется что тут смазанные свитчи и не смазанные стабилизаторы...
I have not lubricated the stabilizers yet, that's correct.
Night and Day
Right!? Amazing what a little bit of lube can do.
can you use any switch opener? sorry new to the hobby
Hey, you need a kailh switch opener. Hope that helps 🙏
Best would be to get a 2 in 1 switch opener like this one a.aliexpress.com/_mrtmMgK
how does the sound of the magnetic akko cream yellows comapred to the normal ones?
There's quite a big difference, especially the old version of the magnetic switches.. But there's an updated version now which sounds closer, but still pretty far off the sound of the normal once.
@@QuietTechYT oh, I see, thanks for the info
too much work i will leave it as stock
Totally understandable 😅
NO, not the stems NO!!!!!
These switches have a hole at the bottom of the switch, so there's no suction created by the stem.
