ABS sensor replacement & vid was thoroughly well done! Very informative, to the point, w/ quick comedy...I like that! Had an injury so I can't do it myself. Been trying to figure out how much increased braking distance is when a rear sensor goes out during normal braking. I thought it was b/c it's a heavy vehicle, but wonder. Unless this decreases my braking distance, I'm not sure I want to pay a substantial amount of money for an 18yo vehicle. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! Re your pinned comment: Yes, I would watch more of your vids. Thank You!
As usual excellent video. I have two questions: 1) What is VAS/VSA light ? (What does it stand for?) 2) Why did you short 4 & 9 wires? Thanks for your valuable time.
So I have a real big issue with my wife's 2006 Chevy Equinox we have spent a little bit over 2500 to get the ABS fixed but for some reason it's still not fixed. We have put on new brakes, new routers speed sensors, wheel bearings, brake booster, master cylinder. It was suggested to remove the ABS module but unfortunately the module is connected to the transmission sensors once we remove them the transmission will not shift gears any suggestions or how to fix the ABS after attempting so many things and spending so much money?
PRO TIP: after removing the bolt from the sensor mount, slip a razor blade between the hub assembly and the sensor, then GENTLY pry it out ... I have never broken one using this method! cheers (leaving room that you may have broken intentionally to show how to on worst case here) Great vid btw
I know exactly what you mean. This guy has spoiled me, I no longer have the patience to sit thru the l-o-o-o-o-n-g boring videos that are so prevalent on RUclips.
I've got a abs light on and traction control (vsr) on after hitting a pothole. The car blepped up with the warning literally as it came out the hole. Garage is saying its the abs modulator and saying £1,200 after diagnostics. But I can't see this being it. Anyone got an ideas? The wiring looks fine and all looks in place. Should I un bolt the sensors into the brakes and clean them up?
What if you drill the ABS sensor, and then use a hoover to pick out the bits from the ABS sensor hole would that save you from dismantling the entire hub? P.S asking for a friend :)
Sir, I don't want to be disrespectful in anyway, but I think the word you're meaning to say is "reinstall" and not "replace". Just an observation I've made watching all your videos. What a ball ache. Two minute job to replace a sensor turned into a mission. Could you of drilled out that sensor with everything in place and hovered out the swarf through the hole?
Yeah what a pain, lucky it's a bolted on hub and not too hard to come off. I wouldn't trust leaving the shavings in there, one little shaving could hamper the ABS function

The codes pointed to the rear wheel sensor.
Another way is to graph the output on a scan tool and check wiring
