Scotty I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in Jan. 2021 so money got tight and time definatly got short. I've building and working on my cars for over 40 years. This new age of computer cars is overwhelming and then I found you. Thank you car God. You have helped me out over a dozen times so far and with time being of the essence I want to thank you. I have to say you make life alot easier and I've never failed with the school of scotty. 2 thumbs up!!

I have a State-Registered Animal Care & Rescue (non-profit) using a 2000 Ford van with 275,000 miles, that I have to keep running and on the road safely. I can't tell you how many times I've been ripped off by mechanics in the past working on it, or shall I say, suspected I was ripped off by a mechanic for hundreds of dollars in what seems like such a simple repair. With the CRP123 scanner you recommended I can at least feel confident that I am paying for what the problem really was. Thanks for the "honesty" about how to identify and possibly fix an ABS problem. Keep up the great videos - I am recommending your stuff.
There's a RUclips mechanic that says he charges $180/hour for any work done on/with a car. Just reading a check-engine code is $180. Even if the light is on because of a low battery, it's $180 just for him to tell you that. Comparing the cost of the tool to mechanics like that is no contest; tool wins. Makes me really appreciate all the information Scotty shares. Thanks Scotty.
Auto Zone or any box auto parts store can check your auto CHECK ENGINE LIGHT for free. Take that $180 & buy a cheap scan tool, such as this one. You can even split the cost with relatives, saving them time & money, too.

HI Scotty . Im in the process of troubleshooting the several problems on my 2004 Pontiac grand prix GTP. Ive been looking for a supercharged 3800 series 3 car for several years now. There weee many problems that i have tackled myself. Like the rear passenger window regulator . Cabin air filter , 3 wheel ABS bearings ,. Ive disassembled the sun roof ot determine that the drivers side track regulator is stripped ,. I will address that problem at a later date . What's more important right now is understanding how to tackle the ABS , TRACION CONTROL ,STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEMS. The brake fluid is really dirty and there are many leaks on the motor, all due to lack of responsibility to maintain the car . So i know that I my have bought a black hole but I'm the kind of person who likes to learn about things . Learn how to rrpair things . But in order to repair such things ,I must have knowledge of how all these systems work. Before I spend piles of cash on items that I think are the problems. I have a good mechanic who I trust to work on my other vehicles but im at the point in life where i want to learn to do the work myself. Is there a really informative book that you might be aware of that you can suggest for me to get ? Im at the point of reasoning were why should i spend $1400.00on a new ABS control module when there might be a better diagnosis procedure to follow that might find out exactly what the problem is. Im thinking that if I totally dismantle the entire braking system, clean every part inside and out, that that might slove the problem. But we all know that simply cleansing parts doesn't bring them back into factory specifications. They are just worn out and need to be replaced. Now the topic of endless money pitt . Do you think that I should just stop this project due to the projected costs ? Or would you suggest that I continue with my plan of attack, to eliminate one problem at a time using logic ? I dont like making things into gods . All i wantrd was a reliable, durable engine, and the 3800 V6 is good. And the 4T65E HD tranny isn't really what I wanted but the other option was to get a G8 with the 3.6 VVT and a manual transmission. I thank you for all your advice and opinions. I understand what you mean about turbo's,superchargers over stressing engines. But it was available for sale and there where 2 other 2007's that were also for sale but allthough cheaper $900. &750. The 900 one had 350000km, and the other had 3 and 4th transmission problems. Anyway Scotty i love your channel . Your recent stories about Ford ,Toyota and Honda . Im totally dismayed with GM and i cant ever see myself buying another new product from them ever again.
Recently, my 2009 Toyota Matrix showed the following lights on the panel: ABS - Break, AWD, and VSC OFF (these last ones blinking on and off). I took it to my mechanic, and upon hooking up the diagnostics tool it gave him a code referring to the back wheels running at different speeds. I prepared myself to some major repair bills, as it has been typical with this car. He is a honest guy however, and upon inspecting the issue, he told me that upon the sensor were covered with rust, and there was also rust on the casing of such sensors. He told me... "I will clean the sensors. Keep your fingers crossed." Thankfully, once cleaned, the issue was resolved. Lucky me! Avoided another two or three thousand dollars bill like the ones I had last years. The car only has 113K miles. Hardly used. The weather in New England, with all the salt and sand they spread on the roads during the Winter is just not suitable for Toyotas. Next time I buy one, I will have it treated for rust underneath. I am not sure it will help. I got different opinions from different people but, the amount of rust under these cars in New England is just unreal, and the damage it causes to cars is real and expensive to fix.
For a person such as myself that knows a little about cars I always find it amazing to seek more knowledge about how everything works on the new model cars. This is where I come and find the answer to my auto problems. You show me how to think research diagnosis the problem no just change parts. Thank you for reaching me a much better mechanic. Take care tell I run into another problem.
YOU ARE THE BEST SCOTTY. YOU'VE SAVE ME ,SO MUCH MONEY.WISH I COULD RETURN THE FAVOR, BUT I'M DISABLED AND LIVE ON A BUDGET. THANK YOU FOR HELPING SO MANY PEOPLE.YOUR AN HONEST MAN.THANK YOU AGAIN!
Rick n joy ,Scotty you rock and roll . Saved me thousands on my chevy duely ,Mitsubishi, bmw 535i. Toyota 4 runner. And now 2007 cadillac cts. Thanks S-man
I had a1994 Honda Accord that didn't need these expensive scan tools! Basically you just had to place a small jumper wire link on a small connector under the dashboard then you turned ON the ignition whilst pressing the break peddle down, you then read the flashing code on the dashboard, you look this fault code up and it basically it told you which wheel sensor is not working, simple as that, diagnosed problem in less then 5 minutes at no cost!

Love the info a jokes you through out there!! And I totally need something like that for cheap! Spent to much on tools already!
Ok, so how do I fix it? All I learned was that there’s a tool that I can personally use to diagnose the problem but not how to fix it.
Lengthy foreplay and after play, but not much real dry stuff. Skin deep
This video is 5 years old my first time watching this one on abs.thanks for the video and information
The images that follow are hilarious sometimes :D 3:00 is on such example !
Thats right.
The problems are in washington.
Scotty is a genious
How do we know who's the winner?
The angry rabbit is my favorite!
The messed up part is you get this info from scanner and try and tell mechanic and they tell you they still have to check it smh
i know another r75 bucks or more
I’d love to have that scanner. Having intermittent abs warning light on mycar for sometime. Though im from Asia. I can pay the shipping fee.
Go to hardware store and ask them if they have it or they could send you to someone who does
I have to say, I have been wrenching for years and do it professionally. My business is juniors mobile mechanics LLC. I have been using this same scanner for several years and it’s never failed me. I often recommend this same scanner to my customers because it’s so versatile and cheap and it helps me get a better idea from them what’s happening prior to even coming out.
Good job Scotty. That scan tool is very cool. I’m very happy that there’s people out there that wants to help the public. Keep up the good videos, they really help us all. See you on the next one Scotty
Gotta tell you, Scotty, simply love your channel and your live Q&As when I get a chance to catch them. Can't imagine how much time it takes you to edit and assemble your little right-hand example images; many of them are hilarious. Keep up the great work, and thank you!

With this tool, ABS may as well stand for Anti-BS, so you can prove a shady mechanic wrong!

I know this was made years ago, but your videos help me to fix my own vehicles, and I am 58 years old. I just wish I had someone to help me out here in Arizona so I can fix this Nissan Xterra to go 1300 miles home.
That’s an awesome price for a much needed item. Thank you!!
Please please let me have it I'm so sick of getting ripped off
Sign me up for the scan tool!
Please don't laugh at me, I'm just helping out a friend that made the mistake of purchasing a 2014 Nissan Sentra sv. Will to his surprise, He is crying because the ABS light just want go away. I don't have access to a scan tool anymore. Mine was stolen. He is short on funds after replacing the wheel speed sensors. He paid some guy that said he knew what he was doing. long story short. My friend got rept off for a repair that did not fix his ABS issue. Is there an auto parts store that would scan an ABS light for free? Thanks. Love your show. You know your stuff, keep up the good work.
Keep these wonderful videos coming Scotty, I look forward each day to them, they have motivated me to do my own Mechanic work at home and save a lot of money so far. Thank you so much!!
HEY BROTHER, SCOTTY, PLEASE RUN FOR PRESIDENT AND FIX AMERICA AGAIN AND MAKE IT RUNNING AGAIN,👍🇺🇲
I'm a veteran and have owned three vehicles and I feel if it wasn't for your "to the point" instructions I would have been spending thousands of dollars on easy fixes. Thanks for the heads up.👍
Scotty's a great salesman - he's done a great job selling this scan tool!
I'm having this exact problem and wanted to buy a scan tool that would work and not cost so much. Thank you Scotty!
This is exactly what I need as I'm dealing with an abs problem right now. My scan tool only tells me its a wheel sensor problem, but not which wheel.
Scotty I here by make you an honorary Marine because of your very high standards. Congratulations. 👍👍👍👍👍❤🇺🇸
Thanks S-man
I love your videos, after 50+ years of working on cars I always learn someting new.
Hello Scotty! Your the greatest!~
Just bought a updated foxwell updated 2021 abs scanner. the description said it covered Chrysler. I sent my vin in to foxwell and they emailed back-"doesn't work on town and country. The hunt for the right scanner has been hard. So here we go again!

CURRENTLY I am once agian getting the check engine light now in need of a purge valve and something is going on with the ABS.and it's not a fuse.

I have had my abs and ebrake lights on for three months! You are very informative, thank you for your knowledge!
Scotty I found a video on RUclips regarding how to remove the ABS light without having to plug anything in or any other warning lights I have a Volvo 850 which had the ABS and the Tracs warning lights on what I did was to disconnect the battery leads touch them together for 10 seconds separate them switch your headlights on to Full leave to drain the power for 15 minutes go back put leads back on and the lights have gone out it worked for my old Volvo 850 apparantly the Polish guys have been this for 20 years but nobody told me..
