Hope you enjoy it, Margaret. It's very easy and I think it will come in handy for lots of projects. I need a back cover for my office chair and I have 3 balls of a lovely deep purple. I'm going to add some chain 1 miss one stitch to make a row of eyelets half way around it so I can put elastic halfway around to make it fit around snug at the top of the back of the chair so it doesn't keep sliding off.

Very pretty & so easy too. I am so envious of your lovely craft room. Can I ask if you only want to do 1 round for the border, how would you do the corners?
whatever the stitch you do the border if its just 1 round put 1 stitch 1 chain and 1 stitch. If you intend to do more than 1 full round, do 2 in the corner chain 2 and 2 more stitches this will make the corner go around neatly
Double knitting varies so much. Its as bad as women's sizing!

gosh the dollar must have dropped a little against the UK £1 your dollar stores sometimes have yarn too I have been in the USA a lot before covid. Borders open in November so Time for me to stock up on dollars and brush the dust off my suitcase.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel yes Dollar Tree has what's called their "Just" line for $1. Just Yarn and Just Cotton is pretty good yarn for the price. I've not personally used the Just Yarn but I do buy the Just cotton whenever I'm in a Dollar Tree that carries it. I've found not all their stores have yarn. Some that do carry it don't have a big selection then there's the store I find by chance while traveling through a different part of the city that will have a huge selection of it. I like that its available for mail order even if they do require a minimum order of 6 of any kind. It usually takes at least 6 of any 1 kind to make something anyway.

Yes it does. Practice everyday all ur stitches. Do swatches on single crochet….1/2 double crochet….1 double crochet….triple double crochet. They have tutorials for beginners.
Yes the more you do it the quicker and neater you get. Xxx keep at it you will be glad you did. The trick is don't make anything too big to start with keep things small like hats and scarves that work up fast and small blankets that way you wont get fed up with a big project.
