I volunteer at a thrift store here and you are right about pricing at some thrift stores, but not ours. We are very successful at moving donated items and donating the money back into healthcare. We believe in being there for our community by supplying very reasonably priced items. It is very very hard to make ends meet and we understand this. The tax on used items is another issue the government is responsible for imposing.
They all turned out great. You are the most patient stenciler I've every seen.!

Talk about sticker shock! Thrift store items are being priced as if they have already been upcycled. It's crazy. So, thank you, Elysia, for showing us your ideas for Dollar Tree items. I always use the stencil vinyl. I pay a little more, but my design always comes out beautifully. I really liked the fabric print. It was charming. The small print was perfect. The tray looked really nice, too. There were so many tile patterns from which to choose. The wood canvas project gave me an idea I will definitely use. The dog portraits were adorable. I would never have thought of that. Great job, Elysia. You are so very talented.

I agree, the thrift store prices have gone crazy! I plan on doing more garage sales this summer for things like fabric and wood cutting boards for DIY projects. As always, I love your crafty ideas!

Very impressive! I loved all of them. I agree with about thrifting. The idea about thrifting was to recycle and not have landfill waste. Not anymore they take donated items and turn it into at least 80-90% profit. I realize cost of business has gone up for everyone, but come on! As someone whom spent most of their life in retail. 🤦🏻

Dollar tree items for 3 times the price
Right?! I went in search of Mason jars last weekend and our Goodwill was selling an old spaghetti jar, not even the kind that has the print on the outside to make it look like a mason jar. The price? $3.00! What?! 😂😂 I wish I could post the picture, we were cracking up!

Plenty of cheap stencils available…don’t be so negative
Make your own stencils, use store bought (they have them at the dollar store also), use stickers or even glue images or pictures. All these options are doable on the things she made today. But she is a cricut ambassador and they sponsored this video. She's simply giving ideas that each person can use as an idea. The what and how is up to each person and the supplies they have. Now enjoy the inspiration and go make stuff!
