Capitalism : an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.
In songbirds and snakes we find out certain rich families control major parts of the economy. So we know it’s almost capitalism with some tweaks. It’s not expanded on the original story, but it’s assumed as many of the families from the start of BOSAS are still prominent in the main story.

The book catching fire is one of the few books I've read that I remember specific lines from. Like how Katniss had referred to how in the coal mines they would bring down a canary to make sure the air quality was safe and if the canary stopped singing that meant there was danger. And she calls Wiress their canary because she kept singing about the clock and then suddenly you realize there hadn't been an interjection by Wiress this whole time and Katniss is like "our canary had stopped singing" Or at the end when Katniss is talking to Gale and she's asking about her mother and sister and asks "They're not in district twelve?" and Gale is like Oh when you shot at the sky the capitol send bombers but don't worry we got them out but it's really not sinking in for Katniss and she's like "They're not in district twelve" until gale responds "There is no District Twelve" book over. It's really an unmatched piece of literature and that's a hill I'll die on.

But the thing with Peeta is that the producers of the movie did him so dirty, in the books Peeta is literally so good and kind to Katniss and his importance is that, in the months before the quarter quell and after the winner's tour, Katniss broke her ankle and had to stay like a month in bed, and Peeta was the one who toke care of Katniss and stayed with her as long as she needed (cause bestie was having a literally existencial crisis bc she felt useless while being injured), so Peeta helped Katniss development a better emotional intelligence¿? kinda thing, and helped her at like, letting her emotions come out of her and not just compress them inside of her.

I was 13 when the movie came out and I remember leaving the cinema feeling absolutely blown away and ready to take down the government lmao. I still get chills every time I see it

literally I just want it to be 2013 and to go see Catching Fire at a midnight premiere. Nothing has made me feel like that since.

i personally, am not saying that mr microphone looks like a car salesman, but i will say that he should not have said that because SOME PEOPLE, but not me, would say that he only looks like a car salesman because he said he did and maybe some people would not have thought that if it weren’t stated beforehand

I was OBZEZZED with hunger games when CF came out, and the movie met my every expectation as a diehard fan and I still think about how fucking awesome it was to see it in the cinema for the first time. It makes Mockingjay's disappointment hurt that much more - that movie could have been great if it wasn't split into two.

This was as gripping as how I first read the Hunger Games trilogy. You are a master of this gen delivery of commentary same as how Suzanne Collins is a genius gamemaster writer when she came up with the details 75th hunger games.

in the book, the little sound katniss does for rue that ends up symbolizing the rebellion, was actually something from district 11 that rue taught katniss. not sure if that’s how it is in the movie

Your commentary videos (storytelling? Narratives? Retelling of the actual thingamajig??) are the most entertaining thing on the internet, and the only reason I’m still here. Keep it up mike.
