in defence of katniss, she was kinda accidentally not like the other girls. like, her sister and best friend (in the books) were pretty much the other girls and she's more than fine with them. she held disdain (kinda?) for the d1 and d2 girls but ig it's more bc their districts were favoured highly compared to d12.
honestly katniss never deliberately distanced herself from other girls it's just that she was too preoccupied trying to keep her family alive. the canon never really looked down on other girls as well. (at least as far as i remember.)

If Rue didn't die she would have been the main character. She has a back story with her mum, two special skills/tricks (climbing trees well and figuring out if people are close by). Shes kind, she can think on her feet and shes much younger than most of the people there. She's much more interesting than Katniss and she should have been the main character. Also I doubt a child has ever won the games so it would have been interesting to people in the movie as well as to us the viewers.

But put some butter and garlic on it, or some kind of dipping sauce, or put a bunch of junk between two slices and call it a sandwich, it's the best thing ever.
