Adam I really would like to thank you for all the greatness you provided on your channel. I first picked up the harp 8 years ago but simply dropped it after a year as I have no idea what to do with it. Until I discovered your tutorials a year ago. Now my passion in playing the harp is more than anything else. You really have done a great job in inspiring people. Thanks!
Adam Gussow is a highly talented and respected harmonica player who I have had the privilege of associating with on RUclips. He has mentored many up and coming musicians including Jason Ricci and Tomlin Leckie, they too are great musicians following his lead. Keep it going Adam 👍
Greatest 'harmonic-y' riff lesson of all time. Taking advantage of the harp layout and being interesting and melodic musically at the same time. Good stuff.
Got my 1st harp at Halloween. There or there abouts. When I feel I'm getting fed up, I come across a video of yours I haven't seen. I'm instantly hooked again
Adam, Iv'e met a awesome harp player that was playing here between gigs with our blues Society in pekin illnois some years back, was probably a wednesday between a St. Louis & chicago gig,not gonna say who he was.but' he should have been more Hummelble to his fans.
even bought one of his instructional DVDs.he didn't leave his ego outside. You'll be remembered for being humble & Appreciative
of the harp players before you, that gave you the foundation to be the harmonica player that you are.I applaud you.
It is great to have a master harp player who is so willing to share . Thank you.
I've learned more from your videos than just about anywhere else. Great stuff and thanks.
Same here there is so much information, technique, etc. to absorb. Man is a teacher is at a university of some type of college I'm not a scholarly lad so not sure exactly the name but Mr. Gussow is a cool mofo for taking the time to make all of this videos im sure that there has been numerous thousands of people all playing the harp simultaneously whereever there home is around the world due to these videos. That's badass
Wow, Adam you're amazing. I just got my own harp after stumbling across your channel. You deserve a medal! So much tasty stuff to learn, thank you very much!
Thank you so much for all of these videos! They are SO great!

Thanx so much - just when I think I'm getting there I look up and see how far I have to go!
I got the 1/2 step down on the 3 to the unbent 2 but the full step down on the3 to the unbent 2 is gonna take some practice. Thanks for sharing
Great lesson as always.
If I could make a suggestion.....? I love your instruction. With each lesson, could you demonstrate how to apply these rifts to a backing track by giving an example or showing how you apply them to a song or performance? Many thanks.
Mr. you are the greatest teacher ever sr. Saludos from mexico.
Awesome - spot on in all it´s basics´s
Looking forward to see U in Copenhagen :)
Brian
Excellent lesson, as usual.
Thanks man.
@KudzuRunner In fact at first was a bit difficult because I mixed the big walters horton riffs with your lesson. But you gave plenty of new ideas. I also noticed that in your playing you use the first part of the riff many times (the going to a note then to the adjacent and back to the initial note, all with a fast glissando). I guess it's sound a bit more kind of sax playing than usual harmonica licks. I'm rediscovering your playing. Thanks again Adam!
@2doorblues: Big Walter Horton used it a fair bit. "Rockin' My Boogie," which is on RUclips
Maryline Thouvenin
Its a treat every time you post one of these. Can't thank you enough. Any suggestions on what to do when you hit that wall where you can't see improvement in your playing?
Practical, yet genius. I appreciate the lessons. Soon ill surpass the master...
Hi Gussow
I am now starting blues. A very good video.
Will you or anybody else write down the riff or at least the down beats of the riff, for foreign begginers who cannot catch well your talking?
Thanks
@cianuro86: Yikes! You're right. Thanks for pointing that out.
Maryline
Good stuff love your leasons thank u
I'm gonna take a wild guess....your wife makes you go to your car to make Harmonica videos?
I LOVE your videos. Very informative! Keep making them please!
Thanks again Boss
Great video... thank you very much for this great resource, I will definitely be rewinding, pausing and playing allot on this one :-) ...
I was wondering as I am deep into first position these days... are you using the middle octave in battle (on stage) ? I have not seen any player doing the middle octave in first position in a gig... The best first position playing I saw was Alex Paclin's video but it was edited as my good friend David pointed to me... What do you think of it?
fantasic video! got me as a fairly novice harp player 'getting it' or the feel of it within minutes and left me wanting to perfect it and work it into riffs.
i know you rarely respond to questions on youtube because you are spammed with them, but have you thought about/this is a plea for a video specifically aimed at grooving with a guitar player because some of your videos from MBH hint at it but I am still having difficulty? sorry for wall of text.
Hey Thank you for teaching it ! I got it after 20 minutes of hard pratice !
-Fannie from quebec
You're awesome!
@2doorblues Sonny Boy Williams II - Help me. He uses it the end of the solo, different notes but same technique. I think Adam has a lesson on his website.
OK, now I understand. I thought the harmonica was in the key of C, but you're calling the harmonica a C Harp. Thanks for the update.
Are you using lip pursing or tongue technics
you're just gorgeous! very good explanation of how to do it, even if you keep some secrets just for yourself ;-)
😍
sounds a little like pentatonic scale
If you slip off the blues scale suddenly you are playing Celtic. :)
The key of G, NO WAY. That is the key of C.
I'm playing a C harp in the key of G. It's called cross harp or second position.
