Not many people type in "ultimate harp jam" in their search bars. Nor are they as accurate in spelling it out when head-butting their keyboards in order to find random videos. I cam across this video when I was listening to some Charlie Musselwhite -- so glad that I found this though! These guys are amazing.
Was a really nice moment, had Jay under my wing that summer and was in the room for this. Brendan's last name is Power (not Powers), he's originally from New Zealand (now Germany) and an old master of many styles including some really cool Celtic and beat box stuff. The three kids (now in their mid/late 20's) were all amazing, you can hear long time SPAH fixture "The Santa Claus of the Blues" Buzz Krantz expressing his delight in the background at various points of the video.
Persons complaining about Christelle playing loudly - have they considered that she may have actually been situated quite close to the "roving" microphone and would therefore appear to be playing louder? They are all great players and I definitely appreciate their skills.
In all my years on this earth, I've never heard mouth harps played like that!! That was so awesome it brought joyful tearz to my eyez!! Honest!! As GOD as my Witness. That was Bbbbbad to the Bbbbbone. In case anyone's wondering, 61yrz on earth, 47yrz on drumz & 25yrz harmonica & drumz. That a Great sound u all !!
pgouldburn Its not your fault man, they're using harmonicas tuned for playing in a minor key. Guys like Jason Ricci do amazing stuff with them. Pretty sure Jason tunes his own, but you can actually buy them set that way beforehand.
It reminds me of Ravel's Bolero - modest start, then constantly building up and at the end a massive drop of everythig there is. This video was a sole reason i got myself a harmonica.
did not really know what i was seeing and hearing, then i saw christelle! this was wonderful to watch. and christelle, you look beautiful here! and happy! such great music. thanks for getting it guys!!! loved every minute of it! connie b
I heard this months ago & it took me all this time to find this jam again! Go right past GO & into the studio, record, sell, make many very happy! Love it & all u guys!
Hey its Ld Miller. Thanks for posting this this was at like 330am. i busted out the beatbox im playing Seydel Harmonicas ( THE BEST HARMONICAS IN THE WORLD) But the key im in is Dbm a natural minor. its a seydel, There amazing.
Glad you can appreciate this. I've got at least one more good-one to post tomorrow. These are shot with an Iphone 3gs - it was all I had - but at least I got a record of some very cool sh-t
This is class !! Well played all !! The gentleman on left with light brown jacket and specs, resembles Clapton. Even his voice too. When he says..."I like you".to the the guy in blue T shirt (when he makes entry) God Bless, all !!
Last time I heard this kinda of alive harp 1970..J Giles Blues Band.Concert (4 am) locked in the Paramount Theater Springfield Massachusetts (cause the police were waiting to arrest us for after curfew) so 4 or 5 harps went at it for 40 min...wild..we slept there and left in the Morning.. you all were just amazing..thanks
comments appreciated Elizabeth - I will look for Richard's post. Yeah I was amazed at how good the iphone 3Gs captured this. I also have a mini DV HD canon that I didn't bring. ** The nice thing about the phone is that is is less intrusive than a bigger camera - and it's always there. The tricky part was keeping my hand steady and held up for that long - not knowing when or if it was ever going to end - at 3 in the morning ! **shot with the HD cam with a minor special effect in editing
I get the feeling that I'm one of the only outsiders listening to this. This music is absolutely mindblowing. Your chemistry and acoustic swagger are top notch. I am confident that NWA would be proud of this shit. You bridge boundaries musically, and, therefore, otherwise. If ever there was a random fan that was so enthralled by your sounds that you took at least one bit of appreciation to make you smile in the middle of the day, let this be that moment and let me be that fan. Thanks.
I just keep watching it over and over again! I can't stand it! Its absolutely Kick-A**!! I think the "girl"; Who has a name by the way, Christelle coming in just makes this jam session even more amazing. Just watch her. She blesses this event.
I was there too. But at 3 am I was in my room asleep! Still I think that Sacramento SPAH was my favorite until this year in St. Louis which was also terrific.
Beginning of the year, and I can guarantee you that this will be my top 5 audio/video for the year. true motivation. thanks for this... much appreciated 😉
Added this to favourites at least 15 times. Let's hope it fills my page with nothing but this video. ^_^ Simply amazing. I wish there were a more same-level recording of this jam session so that I could wake up to it every morning.
THIS.....IS.....THE.....BEST.....HARP....JAM....EVER!!! Really, this is the best spontaneous harmonica thing I've ever heard on RUclips. We've discussed it many times at the MBH board. I just posted at the Yuri Lane "harmonica + beatbox" video that he needs to come look at this to see it really done well.
Magic. But then, what else it can be with Brenden and Christelle jamming together! Superb...words fail me to express my appreciation of this particular gig, really! And to those 'Lady' haters, hell with you! She's Lady Christelle 'Harmonica' Berthon! Anyone dare to match her playing 'House of the Rising Sun', with the Bad Boy of guitar, Mario Montalvo (what chemistry).... Music Nirvana for the soul! Sure to make you guys eat back your words 🎧😋🤐
I have found the perfect music for a French character I have for a role play game. If I start playing this while I introduce the character, everyone will go nuts. It'll be great!
Still one of the greatest things I've seen on RUclips
Good jam but is this the only notes L. D Miller knows? Even solo thats all I've ever heard him play
i come back often to listen to it no meme
Blues and hip hop man 😂 when all the branches of the same tree and roots meet it's something to appreciate
The harmonica is very underated
Yes it is underated but did you know Little Walter is the only harp player to be enducted into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame i believe in 2005?
blair mcarthur People believe is a simple sounding toy instrument that is very easy to play and can't offer much. We do know is not like that.
Yes, it is one of the most beautiful Instruments !
make it rated.
I suck and blow. Literally and figuratively. Very expressive instrument. Trying to learn
This here is straight gold gives me goosebumps. Every time
Seven and a half minutes of pure inspiration. Time to dust off that old harmonica again.
Still coming back every now and then to watch this !!!
This is one piece that should be recorded live in a studio again at 3;00 in the morning and with all the very same artists ....wow Just Mind Blowing
Oh my god it just keeps getting better the longer you watch

***** why can't I just be myself?
@@Justin-hb9wc Yes, you can brother. Don't mind him.
Child Of God 😕
Is he Brandon power?

I've watched this like a hundred times and it still makes my jaw drop
Without this video the world would indeed be a darker place. You have my gratitude for capturing/uploading this.
Just love the way they spontaneously respond to each other.❤️
This was omega fun to watch and listen to. Amazing what RUclips content was back then.
This is without a doubt the most awesome harp playing I have ever seen. AWESOME!
охуеееенно!!!!!!
I have been watching this video for years. Just popped back in after at least a year or two. Still gives me goosebumps. """Soooo cool"
Damn, my harmonica must be broken. It sounds nothing like these.
pgouldburn Its not your fault man, they're using harmonicas tuned for playing in a minor key. Guys like Jason Ricci do amazing stuff with them. Pretty sure Jason tunes his own, but you can actually buy them set that way beforehand.
Harmonica Slim thank my fried
Harmonica Slim didnt know you could tune a harmonica.
Yes sir Johnny Matteis. You add or take weight from the reeds.
pgouldburn dont blame harmonica your skills are broken like mine
It reminds me of Ravel's Bolero - modest start, then constantly building up and at the end a massive drop of everythig there is.
This video was a sole reason i got myself a harmonica.
I asked Jay - he replied :
"The Jam was in C sharp minor I used a B harp in 3rd position."
This has been in my liked videos since I was 17. I'm 26 now and still jamming to this!
Thank God you captured it on video - it was fantastic! Couldn't stop smiling through out!
This reminds me why I love harmonica.
did not really know what i was seeing and hearing, then i saw christelle! this was wonderful to watch. and christelle, you look beautiful here! and happy! such great music. thanks for getting it guys!!! loved every minute of it!

@@imtrashbmx8834 I want to know as well
Been learning harmonica for just under 3 months and keep coming back to this for inspiration
You never be alone if you have a harp in your pocket..Play-On!!
I have an 8" harp in my pocket and you should see my girlfriend play it.
Tee hee
oh my
harmonica?
Wow..thats too crazy and Christelle was there too! ..I loved how they were scrambling for harps to jump into the Jam..That's a magic moment!!.

Holy cow man. I mean...it's obviously a sick jam session, but the way you all mesh together so spontaneously...God bless each of you. Blew my mind...
Man, that was incredible. I LOVE living on a planet where stuff like this occurs! It made my day!
Four very fine harp players. Thanks for posting this Noam. That was a real treat.
This, made me feel much much better.
At, a time I was really down. And, feeling badly,
Thank you. I needed that.

One of the best jams I have heard in a long time! I love the collaboration between the artists. Thank you for sharing!
