- Hello everyone! DreamWhale here with a SUPER video! I noticed something on my casual rewatch of Dragon Ball GT, and that is a remarkable nod to a lot of the DBZ films, and it got me thinking... Are the movies Canon to Dragon Ball GT?

***SPOILERS BELOW FOR DRAGON BALL SUPER: BROLY***
So now that I've seen spoilers for Dragon Ball Super: Broly, we could say that the timelines split at an even earlier point. It could be at the point where King Vegeta decides what he's going to do about him.
In the Z timeline, he decides to send him to another planet, with the events of Dragon Ball Super: Broly taking place, and in the Movie Timeline, he decides to stab him like we see in the Broly movie. This can explain the difference between DBS: Broly's Bardock and the Bardock from Father of Goku.

Remember The Super Android 13 Movie we see Android 17 and 18 in Dr Gero's Lab and it's a Bit Different from the One from the Anime because it is Rather Darker and Full of Shadows with a Little Light Coming Through Just Enough for us to see. Android 17 Kills Dr Gero and Then he Leaves the Lab with 18 after That it Cuts to the Beginning Credits and Then after the Credits we see the Whole Z Gang Celebrating in Town, What are they Celebrating? Could it be in the Movie Timeline They Somehow Destroyed Android 17 and 18 and that Explains why we Never see them again? I Hope they Explain this in the Future.
This explanation is bit of a stretch but the way I would go around making movies canon to GT is with TWO viable options:
Option 1: The movies share the same Filler Hell allowing the movie villains to breach into GT Timeline and somehow Z-Warriors have a timeline connective awareness
Option 2: Retcon the canon villains in connected Movie timeline and replace then with movie villains entirely, thus creating a cleaner Movies to GT timeline. The only problem with this option is Uub

The movies literally can’t be canon to GT. GT follows the Z anime timeline and the movies have massive plotholes/inconsistencies that stop them from being canon.

I totally agree with you. I mean, this actually makes sense well, despite the fact you trying to fit all the stuff in and wherefore to make sense, but a still though it actually does make sense if GT is not cannon to the main story, nor is the z movies it only makes sense. If both GT and the z movies are in the same timelime together, which also means that's a unique timeline, which if I were to ever have all the z movies and I would ever watch GT again, which I never will, but if I were then that's what I would do I would. Watch the z movies and a bit of the main dragon ball show in. Order for all the 2 make sense. And then I'll watch GT line all up with the story. And basically understand that there are 2 alternate timelines out there in dragon ball. The movie timeline and the main show timeline.😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

So idm if plan to eradicate the saiyans can fit. It was originally a game plot line layer developed to be an Ova. But I'd love to see ir get squeezed in I love tuffles

Well there are actually MULTIPLE movie timelines as the movies contradict each other, such as both M5 and M8 taking place during the 10 days of peace for the Cell Games even though Gohan doesn’t have SSJ in M5. Some movies are canon to one another, such as M3 and M4 referencing each other, the Broly Trilogy being connected, and so aren’t the Cooler films. Garlic jr anime filler isn’t canon in the anime as Gohan and Garlic jr flashback to the movie even though that means Krillin and Bulma knew about Gohan a whole year before Raditz’s arrival which can’t work.
So no, the movies aren’t canon to the anime and barely any of them are canon to each other, especially when you get to the power scales as Restricted SSJ Broly is multi galaxy but Bojack can even handle 10x gravity
What's the point of canon anyway? Why is it so hard for people to just watch the Movies in between the Episodes they were released?
@@alexslusher16 canon means connected. So Turles is not canon to the manga or anime because he never referenced and the events of Movie 3 are never talked about by the cast.
The Dragon Ball movies of the 80s and 90s where promotional movies so people would get hyped and watch/read the anime and manga. That’s why the movies feel like copies of already established arcs
And Toriyama has said that the movies are not connected to the manga.
Just to say for bojack that king kai stated that bojack was threatening to destroy and was was rampaging all four quadrants.so bojack would be multi galaxy which is consistent with broly.him being sealed wasn’t because he couldn’t handle the gravity.it was implied that the Kai’s used a technique similar to the mafuba/evil containment(especially since the Kai’s aren’t even nappa level fodder).

Even SECOND FORM FRIEZA is stated by KING KAI to be a threat to the universe who will destroy it. Even though there are many pieces of evidence and scaling to say Second Form Frieza can’t destroy a universe. And Cell and Buu have the same statements. He does not scale to Broly whatsoever. You could never prove Broly and Bojack are in the same timeline
Vegeta is Super Vegeta in the Broly movie and the Cell Games wasn't announced until after Goku and Gohan came out the chamber so in those days leading to the Cell Games it's very possible also Gohan after being saved by Goku wasn't playing around like he was with Cell Bojack got 2 shot while Gohan was trolling Cell and it makes sense he could access Ssj2 relatively easy as it wasn't long since the Cell Games had happened and Goku who sacrificed himself previously gave him the motivation needed to access his power

Didn't Broly also escape from hell in GT?
It was never shown in GT, there is a fan theory that Broly went to heaven because he wasn't a bad person, rather a very traumatized mentaly ill. Hence why he dosent show up in GT. However the most likely case was budget and time constraints, something GT was notorious for.
