Don't need to watch. They don't fit in any context. You probably also don't want to go about insulting potential viewers just because someone flat out tells you they don't fit, video over. When bringing up the return of Cooler movie, you forgot to mention a major plot inconsistency that makes this movie impossible to fit into the dragonball series. Dende was in the start of that movie and he was the one who sent Goku and company to New Namek to fight Meta-Cooler. This in itself is a plot inconsistency because Dende doesn't even come to earth until Goku and Gohan reach super saiyan grade 4, which would have been more than enough for Meta-Cooler. Vegeta would have also been at super saiyan grade 2.
Unfortunately in episode 2 in DBZ, Krillin doesn't recognize Gohan and the gang is surprised he has kid right before Raditz shows up, which makes Dead zone unplaceable.

Then Slug comes and Goku has to transform into semi-super saiyan. They had already fought feeezer, since King Kai mentions Slug may be stronger than Freezer. Following this same timeline, Cooler comes to Earth in search of the fucker that killed his brother. Gokú transforms into Super Saiyan for the first time. In this timeline, android saga can be a thing, but in a very different way. Trunks comes to the past (Freezer never came to Earth) and gives Gokú the medicine and 3 years later they kill the androids the way Cell tells Piccoro they did in and alternate timeline (the one that cell did not appeared (The Original No. 17 and No. 18). Piccorro fuses with Kami too, to kill the androids, so they go for Dende as the new Kami as well. They destroy the superficial lab of Dr. Maki, because they didnt know there were other androids. It is told that Future Trunks had visited the Z warriors a few more times. One of this travels was when android 13, 14 and 15 attacked Gokú and they fight together. Maybe this trunks was never killed by Cell. This timeline is compatible with Cooler returns, since Namek exists, Vegeta (who had been training in space since he was revived in Namek and after killing No. 17 and 18) is a super saiyan and Cooler has no clue who he is. Return of cooler can very well worked during the training year after Trunks first appearance. In the movie, only Goku sees Vegeta as a ssj, so it let the rest of the Z team see him once he face android 19.
The main continuity error with that movie though is that Dende is Earth's Guardian in the movie, he's seen on top of the Lookout with Kami's old walking stick. But because he didn't become the guardian until just before the Cell Games, this movie can't take place any other time than during the 10-day wait.

Everyone else would have sensed him, since as we're well aware, Gohan and Krillin could feel Vegeta's power as a Great Ape in the Saiyan saga almost on the other side of the planet. So it would have been no surprise. Not to mention he transforms without any sort of preamble or 'power up scene', he's just... ssj. Then he struggles to power up into the form in front of everyone and 19. None of the movies fit, easier to just accept it that way.

I had my own headcanon about the movies...It's like on weekends, characters would take a break from the anime, both enemies and good guys. So during the weekends, they'd get these sidequests XD... But they happened in tandem with the anime primarily, and the anime was always very caught up with the manga, too often in fact. So they don't fit, but at the same time, it's like it always catches them on a weekend, taking a break from the main plot Xd
My thoughts are very similar to yours actually: Dead Zone: Yeah, it definitely has to take place before episode 1, especially if we're going to include the Garlic Jr saga. The only real issue is that Krillin will have met Gohan, and Goku mentions Gohan at the Kame House while getting the radar. Of course, nobody actually met Gohan, so they could've figured he was training under Goku or something like that and Goku could've told Krillin to keep it secret (thus acting surprised in the first episode with everyone else.) World's Strongest: Just because Tien and Yamcha are absent doesn't mean they're dead lol, DBZ is basically the Saiyan show so it's a treat whenever humans get screen-time. Given all your points I have to agree that it can't truly fit into the main timeline, the only potential place is in the 3yr time-skip after Trunks showed up before the androids. As for Gohan's hair... its 3 years and hair grows, yeah that's kind of a cheap explanation but that's all I can come up with. And Goku didn't need to go Super Saiyan. Lmao making these movies fit is like splitting hairs. Tree Of Might: Agreed, this movie cannot fit into the MAIN timeline. Perhaps Goku not turning Super Saiyan was actually because he didn't really need to, I mean Turles wasn't Frieza after all. But, keep that in mind, because I'm going to mention this movie later. Also, this movie is essential for a scene in the Garlic Jr saga, so it HAS to be included into the main story, even if it's not in the main timeline. Lord Slug: Agreed, also cannot fit into the MAIN timeline. But what if Goku's transformation into this sort of pseudo-Super Saiyan was because he was internally weakened? I know the real-world reason why, Toriyama hadn't perfected the idea yet, but what if something was preventing Goku from reaching the true form? I'll be talking about this movie later as well. Cooler's Revenge: I don't think the camping idea is too unlikely at all, look at prior to the Cell Games. Goku chose not to go back and train again, and wanting family time instead. Three years is a long time and while every second does count, family time is also very important especially before life and death circumstances. The problem is Goku's apparent inability to control the Super Saiyan transformation, but perhaps it took more effort because of underlying health conditions. Return of Cooler: Aside from Gohan's hair, this can really only fit in the 10 day wait before the Cell Games. And with everything you mentioned, there is one CRITICAL point you left out. At the very beginning of the movie, we see Dende up on the Lookout, sensing the evil on New Namek. At this time, Gohan and Goku are still in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and don't exit until Gohan's hair has been cut (nevermind his Super Saiyan abilities). So, because of Dende being on Earth, this absolutely has to take place after that which would be during the wait for the Cell Games. Super Android 13: Oh boy... Yeah we can't watch these in order of release lmao. For this one, I would say that it has to take place as soon as Goku recovers from the heart virus (but before he heads to the Time Chamber, so after episode 146). Cell was barely introduced and is off hunting bioenergy, Trunks' hair is still short, we know about the androids, and its the only time where Goku isn't busy. I mean yeah, its weird from him to just leave Kame House to be with ChiChi, and then immediately back at Kame House talking about what to do about Cell, but this is really the only window for the movie. The other inconsistency is Gero's main computer; it had been destroyed by Krillin and Trunks a few episodes ago. So the beginning of the movie has to be a flashback, and Androids 13-15 must have been computer-activated and fled moments before Trunks and Krillin arrived at the scene. Now let's rewind for a second and talk about Tree of Might and Lord Slug. These two movies I totally gave up on, until I had an idea... I figured they were part of a trilogy. The last movie in the trilogy being History of Trunks. Hear me out. Tree of Might is absolutely critical because it introduces Gohan's friend Icarus, who is also seen in Lord Slug and (I believe) in World's Strongest. But Icarus is also seen in the Garlic Jr saga, so if Icarus is seen there then he has to exist, but the movie he is introduced in cannot exist... see the paradox? So therefore, Tree of Might and Lord Slug take place in the future timeline, when Goku had returned from Namek but before he succumbed to the heart virus. As for the present time, Gohan could have met Icarus in a different way, but they need to meet first either way you look at it for Icarus to be in the main story as he was. Very interested to know your thoughts =)

Agreed with you on pretty much everything I had my theory of my own of a hypothetical time where Goku arrived before Nappa killed Piccolo therefore explaining why Gohan is still a kid,Piccolo’s alive and Goku alive too post King Kai training (Kaioken,Spirit Bomb). If the 2 scientists made their wish when gohan already trained with Piccolo a few Months and after Goku learned the basics of Kaioken+the Spirit Bomb and if Uranai Baba would have almost revived Goku for 24 hours, then DB's next wish to revive Goku completely could theoretically happen after the crucial 1 year, right? And the 2nd movie would fit in the main timeline. :)
Well, I state at the end of Part 2 that I likely missed some things, and this may be one of them because that never occurred to me. I would have to refer to the series to see if it's even the same computer. I suppose it's speculative, maybe Android 13 was activated beforehand, or it could be a separate lab. It's all 'What-if' anyway

For return of cooler, I've put it days or months before android 19 and 20 shows up. Where vegeta could already be a super saiyan, but he only showed it to goku in the movie. Which allows non-super saiyan gohan makes sense. But the worst issue of fitting in the timeline is dende already on Earth in the movie, which only happens after the HTC room.

That doesn't work actually because SSJ Vegeta gets beaten by Cooler, while after his defeat to 18, he was shocked that a SSJ was beaten. If Return Of Cooler fit in the main timeline, Vegeta wouldn't have been shocked.
Return of Cooler fits better within the 3 years before the Androids. If Revenge of Cooler is early in the 3 years, then Return of Cooler would be much later, most likely some time before the Androids attack, which explains Gohan's long hair, and no one other than Goku ever saw Vegeta as a Super Saiyan. I consider Super Android 13 to take place in the unseen timeline where Goku and the others somehow defeated 17 & 18 (maybe through the shut down device), and a future Cell never shows up to interfere with events. Which means they never trained in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, because there was no need.
Return of Cooler happened while they were training. The only person who saw Vegeta go SSJ was Goku, and he was down for the count when Vegeta showed up to save him from 19. So Vegeta decided it would be a good time to showboat. Totally works.
There’s 1 glaring issue with that, the beginning had dendae as the guardian of earth, which completely destroys the timeline given that was post HBTC, outside of that that’s literally what I used to say myself.
The problem with the specials is a fault with the main series. Events were too close together to ever allow additional storylines. We go from Raditz to Cell without ever really taking a break. It shouldn't have been like that.
The manga was written in the 80's. The movies weren't written yet. And were anime only, pretty much OVAs, never meant to be canon. This allowed foe the the writers to not have to worry about fitting it in. Xenoverse explains it best as they're all just in differenttimeliness, like GT is an alternate timeline.
The camping isn't that unlikely. Look at the difference in training style with Goku and Vegeta when in the time chamber. Vegeta is the one that pushes himself every second of every day, just steady go go go. But with Goku, to him giving amble time for relaxation and let your body recover and heal itself is just as important as pushing yourself when training. So is there a time when training for the Androids where Goku and Gohan could of been finished pushing their bodies for the day and was instead in a period of relaxation and rest? Yes, that's totally possible. If fact that's in Goku's training style. And yes Goku pushed himself constantly when on the space ship training for Namek. But keep in mind Goku kept using sensu beans there whenever his body got wore out. But in general, rest and relaxation is just as important to Goku in training as pushing your body to the limit is. So to say camping while they was training for the Androids is unlikely. Personally, I disagree with that.
There’s one way I like to look at the early films and working around some continuity. Raditz is killed, but Goku is left wounded; we get the warning of Two Saiyans coming to earth, and Kami remarks there may be one mentor that could teach him what he couldn’t teach. To explain why the whole party can’t go through, this is a very special exception to allow one living person to go through the land of the dead.
"Well since Goku can’t quite turn into a Super Saiyan yet…" I thought it was more or less common knowledge to Dragon Ball fans that the transformation in Lord Slug IS a Super Saiyan. Maybe I assumed too much. Not some half-achieved SSJ. They just didn’t have the design down at that point.

Another plot hole in the tree of might movie: goku couldnt go times 20 kaioken till after traveling in the spaceship so it should take place after the frieza saga
In order to perfectly fit Dead Zone, it would need some editing or the first couple of episodes of DBZ would need that editing. The World's Strongest, Tree of Might and Lord Slug could happen in an alternate universe where Goku arrived at the battle with the Saiyans before Piccolo was killed, which would explain why he's alive and Goku too. Cooler's movies fits within the 3 years between Trunks's arrival and the Androids attack. Even the 2nd movie fits because only Goku and Cooler saw Vegeta as a Super Saiyan, so the others could still be shocked when he transformed . Android 13 could be also part of an alternate timeline where the Androids 17 and 18 were defeated or maybe just deactivated before Cell showed up, like if he'd reached his fully grown although imperfect form one or two days later. In the same timeline, after 13,14 and 15 were destroyed maybe Cell could still cause chaos and forced Goku and the others to train for a while in the HTC, only this time SS2 wasn't achieved. They would beat him and celebrate, but maybe not kill him. Then the 1st Broly movie would happen. Perhaps eventually Cell would come back and become Perfect and everything would happen like in the main timeline, explaining why Goku was dead in the 2nd movie, which would take place shortly before the Buu Saga (although Gohan should have gotten a pretty decent zenkai after that). Then everything would happen almost like normal but neither Goku not Vegeta would be revived and either Gohan or Gotenks would have killed Buu. With Goku and Vegeta dead they can fight and beat Janemba . The Bio Broly movie would be the last of that universe. Bojack's and Tapion's movies fit fine in the main timeline with very little editing and retconning needed.
I think the Return of Cooler takes place a few days before the Androids 19 and 20 appear. Here's why: Trunks in not there Gohan is not a Super Saiyan Goku has the heart virus I know that Vegeta is transforming into a Super Saiyan during the fight against Android 19. But Goku is the only one in the movie who sees him as a Super Saiyan. I think the movie fits better there than in the ten days gap between the Cell Games. You could also place Lord Slug after Trunks travels back to the future and before Cooler's Revenge. If you count Goku's transformation as a animation mistake and he is a Super Saiyan there and if you ignore the fact, that Vegeta and Goku's friends are not in the movie.

You can place that before trunks leaves (lord slug)because Goku would of been a super Saiyan.in lord slug but the return of cooler could of happened a week before the androids
For willow movie: junior barely survived nappa attack like he did on namek with freezer and goku was healed with a senzu bean. Freezer and Vegeta both took one year + to go to namek, thus junior and goku were free to go to namek. Tien Yamcha and Chiaotzu were still dead and couldn't be wished back to life because willow used the dragon Ball first (they lagged in bringing em back to life because of reasons like training). Junior then died for reasons and they went to namek for him or he was alive and they went to namek to revive the guys because one year is ok, two is definetely too much. Events proceeded as usual in the anime. Cooler movie happened in the Years of training. They took a lot of camping, they even had a driving lesson lol in this timeline they weren't surprised in Vegeta being a super Saiyan but in Vegeta coming for help. Androids is the trickiest but i thing it could fit in the days between the androids release and cell. Basically cell took a lot more to evolve in the bug form and the androids were chill with goku thus they stand "a bit far" And observed their behaviour after Vegeta got destroyed by 18. While they were all chilling the computer realized his revenge was falling and proceeded to activate option D (A being himself, B 17-18 Che Cell) and the Androids attacked while they were chilling and observing 17 and 18 behaviour. After these events Cell evolved and attacked people and the androids, who meanwhile started acting uncool. This is a big stretch tho and i dislike it. The other option is that they simply killed dot Jero before he could activate 17 and 18. It removes cell saga since there are no androids (unless they activated them after modifying them and removing the kill goku part from their brain and then cell went after them but it's still a big stretch) but other wise there are no contraddiction and we Can Accept that in this timeline Cell saga never happened. Also that would make the use of plan Di way more understandable in Jero POV
Coolers revenge might actually take place in the original timeline where “future” Goku not only defeated frieza in namek but actually killed and finished him off when he arrived on earth with king cold and it would make sense.
10:44 actually you *could* place this before 19 and 20 because goku is the only one who sees vegeta as a super saiyan and when vegeta goes super saiyan vs 19 goku is dying so he can’t say anything about if he’s seen it before or not
This was a cool video! Really had me thinking! In lockdown I got bored one day and tried to work out the movie series timeline of events and I like to think of the movies as its own reality. In this timelines, goku is a LOT stronger in base due to the enemies he's faced in each one pushing him way past his limits. A few key things have to happen, like Frieza although I feel like goku never went SSJ because his base amplified by Kaioken X20 held up more and the spirit bomb won, so when he encounters Cooler he turns SSJ for the 1st time. Trunks coming back was another key point but perhaps with the extra power, they beat 17 and 18... there's no Cell here either, instead it's 13, 14 and 15! They defeat those androids and eventually Broly shows up. Also, I like to think that Goku as SSJ3 beats Buu, but it uses up all of his time on Earth and he and Vegeta face Janemba and maybe for his efforts, the two of them are granted life again and they wind up meeting Tapion. Whenever I watch Z in a row, I tend to insert Coolers Revenge, Bojack unbound and Wrath of the Dragon as they also fit in the main timeline.
Another time deadzone was referenced was in dbz wen krillin got volunteered to be the one to tell chichi that goku was dead and gohan training with piccolo. As hes trying to decide how to tell her and one of them included "gohan was kidnapped again" obv referring to garlic jr.
I think Dead Zone does fit well enough. There are three things to remember. The first is that Garlic Jr. does return and we see flashbacks of this film in the television show. Secondly Krillin says to himself when he's rehearsing how to break the news to Chi-Chi that Piccolo has taken Gohan to train to fight the saiyans that "Goku is dead, and Gohan's been kidnapped again." This implies he's talking about the events of this movie. Thirdly DBZ retcons itself all the time. Raditz says their planet was destroyed four years ago when later it's been gone for at least Goku's current age. If this can be glossed over, I think one scene where Goku reintroduces Gohan at Kame House can be too. And before anyone tells me Garlic Jr. isn't canon, it's filler...please look up what canon means. Garlic Jr. is canon to the anime if not the manga. It happened!!!!
And you are immediately wrong because Dead Zone can only happen IF they knew Gohan, and in episode 1 of DBZ, Roshi, Bulma and the rest at Kame House didn’t know who he was. Oh yeah, the Garlic Jr. Arc isn’t in the manga and is considering filler in DBZ, meaning it didn’t happen.
The Daizenshuu 6, one of the official guidebooks, already placed each of the movies in the timeline. The movies still are not canon, but where they occur in terms of chronology is already known. Late to the party but the Cooler movie could take place during Trunks' timeline where Goku killed Frieza and King Cold himself, thus why they weren't training at all in the movie.
My order of doing them is a pretty funny one but it oddly works well for me, how I did mine was like this ignoring the cannon deaths and what not *Looong summery to read*. 1 Dead Zone happened after the final episode of Dragonball (Minus the inconsistency of Bulma knowing Gohan before he was introduced... maybe it was phoned in but they never saw each other face to face) 2. Worlds Strongest was fitted in just after Piccolo gets blasted by Nappas attack but doesent die till the next episode (Uh yeah two problems was obviously Goku knew the Kaioken and Spirit Bomb and had not learnt it yet but at least Gohan was in his correct Gi and that scene just happened in the movie too xD 3. The Tree of Might happened just after Goku beats Nappa and goes with Vegeta to fight (This is an interesting one as the battle pretty much is a throwback to the Vegeta fight so in a alt universe Goku is fighting Turles while in the cannon world he is going to face Vegeta also at this time he had the Kaioken and Spiritbomb so its all good) 4. Lord Slug happens just after Vegeta is beaten and everyone is heading to the hospital after finding out Namek exists (This doesn't pose much problems as Kirillin and Gohan are still not hospitalized yet also Goku is alive kinda though keeping in mind its once again an alt universe so nothing works well here as for the false super saiyan at this time its just a raged up Kaioken gone wrong) SP1 Bardock happens just after Frieza kills Vegeta and says he looked familiar to him (This ironically is really cool seeing Goku face frieza and then Bardock oddly appaers in the special after and also sees it well in base Frieza form kinda lol) SP2 Trunks happens just after Gohan gets word that Frieza returned (I was thinking this may work better in the part where Frieza lands but it seems like it would take too long for him to reach them otherwise) 5. Coolers Revenge happens just after Goku lands back on earth after Trunks forboding (Skip the filler parts this all happens after Goku tells everyone to meet again) 6. Return of Cooler happens just after Vegeta kicks goku off against the andorids after he gets the heart virus (As Vegeta is Super Saiyan now this movie can be watched it still is an alt universe so Goku in the movieverse isn't even sick) 7. Super Android 13 happens just after Cell announces the Cell games (Likely when everyone has to train again after Trunks looses to Cell) 8. Brolly happens just after Gohan goes Super Saiyan and Goku has a slice of life break (This allows all of them to divert from Cells games and go to the fake planet to meet Brolly without affecting the Cell games rules) 9. Bojack Unbound happens just before Goku destroys King Kais house and they go to the world to fight stronger warriors likely (In short it's watched just before Shenrons final wish as Trunks leaves in the episode after... I think he already beat them so maybe its after Goku heads off to the otherworld?) 10. Brolly 2nd Coming happens just before the tournament even before when everyone heads off to the islannd to fight (Likely after Videl learns how to fly and Gohan is still in his Gi that matched the movie) 11. Bio Brolly happens just at the same time Buu is terrorizing the earth and just after Goku goes back to the otherworld when they say bye to him on the lookout (This means 18 tries to get her money and stuff) 12. Fuzion Reborn happens after skinny buu faces Piccolo and Gotenks and before Gohan becomes awakened (As Goku is still dead it has to be seen even before Vegeta gets his body back to fight buu again) and lastly 13. Wrath of the dragon takes place after the filler episode of Goku having a party and being late for it (Happens just before the time skip)
Goku is the kind of person that considers rest a part of training. He would 100% take a break from training to fight the androids to camp for a weekend
The Slug movie takes place after Namek, evidence by the fact that King Kai states Slug is stronger than Freeza. The reason why Goku's SSJ looks so weird is because the movie finished production and released before Goku's transformation during the Namek saga, and the movie's producers weren't told how a SSJ is supposed to look, as to not ruin the surprise. Ergo the movie is just as unplaceable as Tree of Might.
What if Dead Zone takes place where goku and Piccolo successfully defeat Raditz without Piccolo having to resort to using special beam cannon, and Tree of might could be in a timeline where Goku intervened early just before Vegeta and Nappa arrived on earth, these movies aren't meant to fit into the main series because they're alternate timelines.. Hear me out on Return of Cooler. It could be on the 3rd year of Android training , because Vegeta revealed it there and he didnt go back with them to earth and he had his own ship to get to and leave New Namek
To clarify a few things: In the japanese original lord slug is stated to be stronger than Frieza which places it after namek Krillin does not recognize Gohan in chapter 194 Goku states that Frieza died to the spirit bomb in Cooler's first movie At the time Cooler's second movie, Piccolo had just met Cell in ginger town in the manga meaning this is the first time Dende was ever shown as earth's guardian.
To be honest, I thought “Revenge of cooler” was right after the frieza arc. But I remember as a kid when I saw the cell saga, I was a bit confused because I still needed that Goku was up in space before he arrived.
It always felt like the movies were done by creatives who only ever had part of Toriyama's vision. Dead Zone done as a Dragon Ball sequel without them knowing that Z would be coming or that Krillin wouldn't be informed on Goku having a kid. Movies 2-5 feel like they were made under a basic concept of "Hey, eventually they will defeat Frieza, go back to Earth and bring their friends back, right?" only without the knowledge of Goku becoming a Super Saiyan or at least, being able to master it and control it at will. You can easily see films 2-5 occurring in a post-Frieza, post-everyone back to life as long as you kind of assume that Goku was not able to easily unlock Super Saiyan. That way over the course of Movie 4 and 5 he sort of "re-ignites" his ability to reach it. Movie 6 and 7 again feels like they were under the impression that "these androids will be taken out, and when it is all over Goku, Vegeta and Trunks will be the only super saiyans and Dende will be the new Guardian"...only without the knowledge that the arc would expand into "beyond super saiyan" and involve Gohan reaching Super Saiyan and aging up a year without any reasonable gap between arcs. If Goku, Vegeta and Fused Piccolo defeated the androids....then movie 6 and 7 would be "Post" that outcome. Movie 8 kind of feels made with the assumption that Cell would be defeated without any major casualties, or with all it being fixed with Dragon Balls. Only without them knowing that Gohan would reach SS2 and that Goku would opt to stay dead. Movie 9 pretty much basically fits. Movie 10-12 again...sort of just feel like they assumed the end of the "Current arc" would be coming a lot sooner than it did with a lot less changes in the status quo, or without them being informed of certain things. IF you assume that the tournament arc would just be a tournament arc and then trigger another "break" in action, it is easy to see how Movie 10 and 11 could slide into a hypothetical point "after" that If you assume that either Gotenks or SS3 Goku would defeat Fat Buu after Vegeta's death you can sort of slide Movie 12 in after that. Movie 13, if it didn't have the weird link of Trunks' sword that makes zero sense, can easily be a Post-Buu story.
Remember canon means official continuity. DBZ has 3 main canons Original canon (toriyama) -manga/dbs manga/jaco/dr slump manga Main canon-dr slump /ball/z/GT animes ANDmovies 1/5/9/13 Modern canon : Kai/dbs
I'd say some of these movies are just what if events: like, if none of the Z-Fighters died to the Saiyan Invasion, if Androids 17 and 18 were defeated by the Z-Fighters, if Cell was defeated by Goku or Vegeta during their first encounter, and if Buu was destroyed by Vegeta's Final Explosion.
DB Super was such a huge letdown, I never thought I'd be skipping through episodes to just get it over with on a dragon ball series. But it did make me go back and watch GT and I was much more satisfied with GT than I was super.
The biggest thing for me is that Super wasn't hand drawn. GT has incredible animation going for it, that's for sure. I like some elements of Super, including how much funnier it is than Z, but yeah. Letdown is a good word
@@TwinBlasters the look of Z is what drew me in in the first place so the super aesthetic was a big turn off for me as well but the battle of gods movie wasn't that bad so I thought I'd enjoy the super series and I was wrong. But like I said it made me crave new dragon ball so I watched GT all the way through for the first time and GT was a lot better than I remembered.
It's easier of you skip the redos of the last two DBZ movies and watch the actual movies in their place. The stuff before and in-between is fine though.
Remember though, Future Trunks, right before he defeated Cell in his timeline, was gonna go back to the present one. So he did go back off screen. Bojack fits in the main timeline.

Well the goal here was to simply be able to place it or not. Alternate reality arguments make every movie fit. It is a detail that I missed, though. Krillin's oversight is the only plausibility keeping Dead Zone from being debunked. They never have a discussion about who Gohan is, but it's a stretch, to say the least

I think what you pointed out with Cooler's Revenge makes sense. It must take place during the time skip after Trunks warns everyone about the Androids, but before the Androids actually show up. I think that it makes sense to say that The Return of Cooler has a placement also in those 3 years. Your argument was that Vegeta was a super saiyan and Goku has the heart disease. While that is a good argument to me, I feel like the bigger deal is the absence of Trunks in that movie. Your placement of before everyone goes into the hyperbolic time chamber makes sense, except for the fact that Trunks wasn't in the movie at all. I think that is more of a contradiction than just saying that it was during the same time skip while everyone is training, just towards the end giving Vegeta enough time to become a super saiyan, but before Trunks comes back again from the future.
I can't remember if I considered Trunks' absence in my original analysis of The Return of Cooler, but as I mentioned, my chances of missing something were pretty good. The only issue with it being before the androids is that Goku isn't surprised or asking questions about Vegeta being super saiyan, since he first reveals it during Android 19. On top of that, he had just gotten back to Earth for that fight, so they'd have to be on New Namek INSTEAD of fighting 19 & 20, and Goku would (in theory) be having heart issues. Personally I think it just lines up better to assume Trunks didn't go with, but the argument works a bit in your favor because the movie came out only two weeks after Vegeta's first transformation in the series. Because of Trunks' absence, it could fall anywhere during the android saga, but the only time they'd have a chance is during the 10 days before Cell. Good catch!
TwinBlasters Yeah, there are so many ridiculous inconsistencies with the movies that it ends up becoming a pick your poison kind of deal when trying to choose how to place movies in the time line. Like even the android 13 movie you talked about makes sense kind of, but then I feel it falls apart when I remember Piccolo being in the movie and fighting android 13, and losing that fight. So if that was after him fusing with Kami (since Goku was still sick) but before Cell games, then that would mean android 13 was stronger than 17 or 18, considering how Piccolo absolutely wrecked them but lost to Cell. Seems like a flaw though that there would be androids that strong, but I mean hey, I guess 16 exists in canon so why not? What a mess haha. I admit I have mixed trust of the costumes as fully lockout markers. I know it is often used , but it seems a bit overused and one that could be considered to be not neccsarily a lockout. In fact the cooler movie shows this because they use both costumes in that sequence you showed. Of course tbh, a real difficulty with some of these events is that we dont have perfect information on the difference between the sagas themselves only estimations. Their could be periods of days between the sagas or simialar that we dont notice with some of them while others as we know are more directily connected(but other may be a mix in between even if they seem directly connected)
The movies are pretty much alternate outcomes of the original timeline for example fusion reborn is in an alternate version where gotenks or gohan defeated buu so neither goku or vegeta need to come back to life to fuse into vegito so there for the movie would make sense
Maybe I don’t know because I haven’t seen the movies and I watched DBZ a long time ago but: Maybe the movies when Goku doesn’t become a supersaiyan can be explained because he forgot how to transform (after all he only became one because Frieda killed krillin, all the namekians and all the saiyans), Goku maybe needed time to control that transformation (also it would imply that he came to earth for a time before trunks) vegeta learned to become one before the androids come to earth so maybe we can put that movie after that (we can ignore everyone’s surprise with vegeta being a supersaiyan)
When talking to trunks right after arriving to earth goku said at first it was hard to control but then he got it down. He was referring to the point in time when he was on yardrat so this would mean it would be unlikely that he forgot how to do it.
I'm sorry to say I'm not nearly the Naruto expert that I am when it comes to DBZ. I only saw about 200 episodes of Shippuden, and I don't believe I've seen the movies

When bringing up the return of Cooler movie, you forgot to mention a major plot inconsistency that makes this movie impossible to fit into the dragonball series. Dende was in the start of that movie and he was the one who sent Goku and company to New Namek to fight Meta-Cooler. This in itself is a plot inconsistency because Dende doesn't even come to earth until Goku and Gohan reach super saiyan grade 4, which would have been more than enough for Meta-Cooler. Vegeta would have also been at super saiyan grade 2.

World's Strongest can be in an alternate timeline if Piccollo didnt die as a result of Napa's attack. In the movie Gohan Recalls the moment, but if he didn't die in the attack and Krillin actually killed Vegeta instead of letting him leave, this could be 1 year later after the events.
The tree movie can be placed in the same timeline. Everyone is alive because Picoro never died and they didnt have to go to Namek. Then Turles came to fuck things up.

If he had died there, Gokú would have never transformed into super saiyan and would return to Earth and revive all people that died because of freezer with the dragon balls, and Namek would have a new Patriarc. Then Slug comes and Goku has to transform into semi-super saiyan. They had already fought feeezer, since King Kai mentions Slug may be stronger than Freezer.
Following this same timeline, Cooler comes to Earth in search of the fucker that killed his brother. Gokú transforms into Super Saiyan for the first time.
In this timeline, android saga can be a thing, but in a very different way.

Return of cooler can very well worked during the training year after Trunks first appearance. In the movie, only Goku sees Vegeta as a ssj, so it let the rest of the Z team see him once he face android 19.
The main continuity error with that movie though is that Dende is Earth's Guardian in the movie, he's seen on top of the Lookout with Kami's old walking stick. But because he didn't become the guardian until just before the Cell Games, this movie can't take place any other time than during the 10-day wait.
Only Goku sees him. Everyone else would have sensed him, since as we're well aware, Gohan and Krillin could feel Vegeta's power as a Great Ape in the Saiyan saga almost on the other side of the planet. So it would have been no surprise.
Not to mention he transforms without any sort of preamble or 'power up scene', he's just... ssj. Then he struggles to power up into the form in front of everyone and 19. None of the movies fit, easier to just accept it that way.

Dende and New Namek firmly ruin its placement
I had my own headcanon about the movies...It's like on weekends, characters would take a break from the anime, both enemies and good guys. So during the weekends, they'd get these sidequests XD... But they happened in tandem with the anime primarily, and the anime was always very caught up with the manga, too often in fact.
So they don't fit, but at the same time, it's like it always catches them on a weekend, taking a break from the main plot Xd
My thoughts are very similar to yours actually:
Dead Zone: Yeah, it definitely has to take place before episode 1, especially if we're going to include the Garlic Jr saga. The only real issue is that Krillin will have met Gohan, and Goku mentions Gohan at the Kame House while getting the radar. Of course, nobody actually met Gohan, so they could've figured he was training under Goku or something like that and Goku could've told Krillin to keep it secret (thus acting surprised in the first episode with everyone else.)
World's Strongest: Just because Tien and Yamcha are absent doesn't mean they're dead lol, DBZ is basically the Saiyan show so it's a treat whenever humans get screen-time. Given all your points I have to agree that it can't truly fit into the main timeline, the only potential place is in the 3yr time-skip after Trunks showed up before the androids. As for Gohan's hair... its 3 years and hair grows, yeah that's kind of a cheap explanation but that's all I can come up with. And Goku didn't need to go Super Saiyan. Lmao making these movies fit is like splitting hairs.
Tree Of Might: Agreed, this movie cannot fit into the MAIN timeline. Perhaps Goku not turning Super Saiyan was actually because he didn't really need to, I mean Turles wasn't Frieza after all. But, keep that in mind, because I'm going to mention this movie later. Also, this movie is essential for a scene in the Garlic Jr saga, so it HAS to be included into the main story, even if it's not in the main timeline.
Lord Slug: Agreed, also cannot fit into the MAIN timeline. But what if Goku's transformation into this sort of pseudo-Super Saiyan was because he was internally weakened? I know the real-world reason why, Toriyama hadn't perfected the idea yet, but what if something was preventing Goku from reaching the true form? I'll be talking about this movie later as well.
Cooler's Revenge: I don't think the camping idea is too unlikely at all, look at prior to the Cell Games. Goku chose not to go back and train again, and wanting family time instead. Three years is a long time and while every second does count, family time is also very important especially before life and death circumstances. The problem is Goku's apparent inability to control the Super Saiyan transformation, but perhaps it took more effort because of underlying health conditions.
Return of Cooler: Aside from Gohan's hair, this can really only fit in the 10 day wait before the Cell Games. And with everything you mentioned, there is one CRITICAL point you left out. At the very beginning of the movie, we see Dende up on the Lookout, sensing the evil on New Namek. At this time, Gohan and Goku are still in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and don't exit until Gohan's hair has been cut (nevermind his Super Saiyan abilities). So, because of Dende being on Earth, this absolutely has to take place after that which would be during the wait for the Cell Games.
Super Android 13: Oh boy... Yeah we can't watch these in order of release lmao. For this one, I would say that it has to take place as soon as Goku recovers from the heart virus (but before he heads to the Time Chamber, so after episode 146). Cell was barely introduced and is off hunting bioenergy, Trunks' hair is still short, we know about the androids, and its the only time where Goku isn't busy. I mean yeah, its weird from him to just leave Kame House to be with ChiChi, and then immediately back at Kame House talking about what to do about Cell, but this is really the only window for the movie. The other inconsistency is Gero's main computer; it had been destroyed by Krillin and Trunks a few episodes ago. So the beginning of the movie has to be a flashback, and Androids 13-15 must have been computer-activated and fled moments before Trunks and Krillin arrived at the scene.
Now let's rewind for a second and talk about Tree of Might and Lord Slug. These two movies I totally gave up on, until I had an idea... I figured they were part of a trilogy. The last movie in the trilogy being History of Trunks. Hear me out. Tree of Might is absolutely critical because it introduces Gohan's friend Icarus, who is also seen in Lord Slug and (I believe) in World's Strongest. But Icarus is also seen in the Garlic Jr saga, so if Icarus is seen there then he has to exist, but the movie he is introduced in cannot exist... see the paradox? So therefore, Tree of Might and Lord Slug take place in the future timeline, when Goku had returned from Namek but before he succumbed to the heart virus. As for the present time, Gohan could have met Icarus in a different way, but they need to meet first either way you look at it for Icarus to be in the main story as he was.

Well, I state at the end of Part 2 that I likely missed some things, and this may be one of them because that never occurred to me. I would have to refer to the series to see if it's even the same computer. I suppose it's speculative, maybe Android 13 was activated beforehand, or it could be a separate lab. For return of cooler, I've put it days or months before android 19 and 20 shows up. Where vegeta could already be a super saiyan, but he only showed it to goku in the movie.
Which allows non-super saiyan gohan makes sense.
But the worst issue of fitting in the timeline is dende already on Earth in the movie, which only happens after the HTC room.
Only Goku sees him. Everyone else would have sensed him, since as we're well aware, Gohan and Krillin could feel Vegeta's power as a Great Ape in the Saiyan saga almost on the other side of the planet. So it would have been no surprise.
Not to mention he transforms without any sort of preamble or 'power up scene', he's just... ssj. Then he struggles to power up into the form in front of everyone and 19. None of the movies fit, easier to just accept it that way.
That doesn't work actually because SSJ Vegeta gets beaten by Cooler, while after his defeat to 18, he was shocked that a SSJ was beaten. If Return Of Cooler fit in the main timeline, Vegeta wouldn't have been shocked.
Return of Cooler fits better within the 3 years before the Androids. If Revenge of Cooler is early in the 3 years, then Return of Cooler would be much later, most likely some time before the Androids attack, which explains Gohan's long hair, and no one other than Goku ever saw Vegeta as a Super Saiyan. So yeah
I consider Super Android 13 to take place in the unseen timeline where Goku and the others somehow defeated 17 & 18 (maybe through the shut down device), and a future Cell never shows up to interfere with events.
Which means they never trained in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, because there was no need.

The two Cooler movies are canon.
Return of Cooler happened while they were training. The only person who saw Vegeta go SSJ was Goku, and he was down for the count when Vegeta showed up to save him from 19. So Vegeta decided it would be a good time to showboat. Totally works.
There’s 1 glaring issue with that, the beginning had dendae as the guardian of earth, which completely destroys the timeline given that was post HBTC, outside of that that’s literally what I used to say myself.

The problem with the specials is a fault with the main series. Events were too close together to ever allow additional storylines. We go from Raditz to Cell without ever really taking a break.

The manga was written in the 80's. The movies weren't written yet. And were anime only, pretty much OVAs, never meant to be canon. This allowed foe the the writers to not have to worry about fitting it in. Xenoverse explains it best as they're all just in differenttimeliness, like GT is an alternate timeline.
The camping isn't that unlikely.
Look at the difference in training style with Goku and Vegeta when in the time chamber. Vegeta is the one that pushes himself every second of every day, just steady go go go. But with Goku, to him giving amble time for relaxation and let your body recover and heal itself is just as important as pushing yourself when training.
So is there a time when training for the Androids where Goku and Gohan could of been finished pushing their bodies for the day and was instead in a period of relaxation and rest? Yes, that's totally possible. If fact that's in Goku's training style.
And yes Goku pushed himself constantly when on the space ship training for Namek. But keep in mind Goku kept using sensu beans there whenever his body got wore out. But in general, rest and relaxation is just as important to Goku in training as pushing your body to the limit is.
So to say camping while they was training for the Androids is unlikely. Personally, I disagree with that.

Raditz is killed, but Goku is left wounded; we get the warning of Two Saiyans coming to earth, and Kami remarks there may be one mentor that could teach him what he couldn’t teach.
To explain why the whole party can’t go through, this is a very special exception to allow one living person to go through the land of the dead.
"Well since Goku can’t quite turn into a Super Saiyan yet…" I thought it was more or less common knowledge to Dragon Ball fans that the transformation in Lord Slug IS a Super Saiyan. Maybe I assumed too much. Not some half-achieved SSJ. They just didn’t have the design down at that point.

In order to perfectly fit Dead Zone, it would need some editing or the first couple of episodes of DBZ would need that editing. The World's Strongest, Tree of Might and Lord Slug could happen in an alternate universe where Goku arrived at the battle with the Saiyans before Piccolo was killed, which would explain why he's alive and Goku too. Cooler's movies fits within the 3 years between Trunks's arrival and the Androids attack. Even the 2nd movie fits because only Goku and Cooler saw Vegeta as a Super Saiyan, so the others could still be shocked when he transformed . Android 13 could be also part of an alternate timeline where the Androids 17 and 18 were defeated or maybe just deactivated before Cell showed up, like if he'd reached his fully grown although imperfect form one or two days later. In the same timeline, after 13,14 and 15 were destroyed maybe Cell could still cause chaos and forced Goku and the others to train for a while in the HTC, only this time SS2 wasn't achieved. They would beat him and celebrate, but maybe not kill him. Then the 1st Broly movie would happen. Perhaps eventually Cell would come back and become Perfect and everything would happen like in the main timeline, explaining why Goku was dead in the 2nd movie, which would take place shortly before the Buu Saga (although Gohan should have gotten a pretty decent zenkai after that). Then everything would happen almost like normal but neither Goku not Vegeta would be revived and either Gohan or Gotenks would have killed Buu. With Goku and Vegeta dead they can fight and beat Janemba . The Bio Broly movie would be the last of that universe.
Bojack's and Tapion's movies fit fine in the main timeline with very little editing and retconning needed.
I think the Return of Cooler takes place a few days before the Androids 19 and 20 appear. Here's why:

Goku has the heart virus
I know that Vegeta is transforming into a Super Saiyan during the fight against Android 19. But Goku is the only one in the movie who sees him as a Super Saiyan. I think the movie fits better there than in the ten days gap between the Cell Games.
You could also place Lord Slug after Trunks travels back to the future and before Cooler's Revenge. If you count Goku's transformation as a animation mistake and he is a Super Saiyan there and if you ignore the fact, that Vegeta and Goku's friends are not in the movie.

For willow movie: junior barely survived nappa attack like he did on namek with freezer and goku was healed with a senzu bean. Freezer and Vegeta both took one year + to go to namek, thus junior and goku were free to go to namek. Tien Yamcha and Chiaotzu were still dead and couldn't be wished back to life because willow used the dragon Ball first (they lagged in bringing em back to life because of reasons like training). Junior then died for reasons and they went to namek for him or he was alive and they went to namek to revive the guys because one year is ok, two is definetely too much. Events proceeded as usual in the anime.
Cooler movie happened in the Years of training. They took a lot of camping, they even had a driving lesson lol in this timeline they weren't surprised in Vegeta being a super Saiyan but in Vegeta coming for help.
Androids is the trickiest but i thing it could fit in the days between the androids release and cell. Basically cell took a lot more to evolve in the bug form and the androids were chill with goku thus they stand "a bit far" And observed their behaviour after Vegeta got destroyed by 18. While they were all chilling the computer realized his revenge was falling and proceeded to activate option D (A being himself, B 17-18 Che Cell) and the Androids attacked while they were chilling and observing 17 and 18 behaviour. After these events Cell evolved and attacked people and the androids, who meanwhile started acting uncool. This is a big stretch tho and i dislike it.
The other option is that they simply killed dot Jero before he could activate 17 and 18. It removes cell saga since there are no androids (unless they activated them after modifying them and removing the kill goku part from their brain and then cell went after them but it's still a big stretch) but other wise there are no contraddiction and we Can Accept that in this timeline Cell saga never happened. Also that would make the use of plan Di way more understandable in Jero POV

This was a cool video! Really had me thinking! In lockdown I got bored one day and tried to work out the movie series timeline of events and I like to think of the movies as its own reality. In this timelines, goku is a LOT stronger in base due to the enemies he's faced in each one pushing him way past his limits. A few key things have to happen, like Frieza although I feel like goku never went SSJ because his base amplified by Kaioken X20 held up more and the spirit bomb won, so when he encounters Cooler he turns SSJ for the 1st time. Trunks coming back was another key point but perhaps with the extra power, they beat 17 and 18... there's no Cell here either, instead it's 13, 14 and 15! They defeat those androids and eventually Broly shows up. Also, I like to think that Goku as SSJ3 beats Buu, but it uses up all of his time on Earth and he and Vegeta face Janemba and maybe for his efforts, the two of them are granted life again and they wind up meeting Tapion.
Whenever I watch Z in a row, I tend to insert Coolers Revenge, Bojack unbound and Wrath of the Dragon as they also fit in the main timeline.

I think Dead Zone does fit well enough. There are three things to remember. The first is that Garlic Jr. does return and we see flashbacks of this film in the television show. Secondly Krillin says to himself when he's rehearsing how to break the news to Chi-Chi that Piccolo has taken Gohan to train to fight the saiyans that "Goku is dead, and Gohan's been kidnapped again." This implies he's talking about the events of this movie. Thirdly DBZ retcons itself all the time. Raditz says their planet was destroyed four years ago when later it's been gone for at least Goku's current age. If this can be glossed over, I think one scene where Goku reintroduces Gohan at Kame House can be too. And before anyone tells me Garlic Jr. isn't canon, it's filler...please look up what canon means. Garlic Jr. is canon to the anime if not the manga. It happened!!!!
And you are immediately wrong because Dead Zone can only happen IF they knew Gohan, and in episode 1 of DBZ, Roshi, Bulma and the rest at Kame House didn’t know who he was.
Oh yeah, the Garlic Jr. Arc isn’t in the manga and is considering filler in DBZ, meaning it didn’t happen.

Late to the party but the Cooler movie could take place during Trunks' timeline where Goku killed Frieza and King Cold himself, thus why they weren't training at all in the movie.
My order of doing them is a pretty funny one but it oddly works well for me, how I did mine was like this ignoring the cannon deaths and what not *Looong summery to read*. 1 Dead Zone happened after the final episode of Dragonball (Minus the inconsistency of Bulma knowing Gohan before he was introduced... maybe it was phoned in but they never saw each other face to face) 2. Worlds Strongest was fitted in just after Piccolo gets blasted by Nappas attack but doesent die till the next episode (Uh yeah two problems was obviously Goku knew the Kaioken and Spirit Bomb and had not learnt it yet but at least Gohan was in his correct Gi and that scene just happened in the movie too xD 3. The Tree of Might happened just after Goku beats Nappa and goes with Vegeta to fight (This is an interesting one as the battle pretty much is a throwback to the Vegeta fight so in a alt universe Goku is fighting Turles while in the cannon world he is going to face Vegeta also at this time he had the Kaioken and Spiritbomb so its all good) 4. Lord Slug happens just after Vegeta is beaten and everyone is heading to the hospital after finding out Namek exists (This doesn't pose much problems as Kirillin and Gohan are still not hospitalized yet also Goku is alive kinda though keeping in mind its once again an alt universe so nothing works well here as for the false super saiyan at this time its just a raged up Kaioken gone wrong) SP1 Bardock happens just after Frieza kills Vegeta and says he looked familiar to him (This ironically is really cool seeing Goku face frieza and then Bardock oddly appaers in the special after and also sees it well in base Frieza form kinda lol) SP2 Trunks happens just after Gohan gets word that Frieza returned (I was thinking this may work better in the part where Frieza lands but it seems like it would take too long for him to reach them otherwise) 5. Coolers Revenge happens just after Goku lands back on earth after Trunks forboding (Skip the filler parts this all happens after Goku tells everyone to meet again) 6. Return of Cooler happens just after Vegeta kicks goku off against the andorids after he gets the heart virus (As Vegeta is Super Saiyan now this movie can be watched it still is an alt universe so Goku in the movieverse isn't even sick) 7. Super Android 13 happens just after Cell announces the Cell games (Likely when everyone has to train again after Trunks looses to Cell) 8. Brolly happens just after Gohan goes Super Saiyan and Goku has a slice of life break (This allows all of them to divert from Cells games and go to the fake planet to meet Brolly without affecting the Cell games rules) 9. Bojack Unbound happens just before Goku destroys King Kais house and they go to the world to fight stronger warriors likely (In short it's watched just before Shenrons final wish as Trunks leaves in the episode after... I think he already beat them so maybe its after Goku heads off to the otherworld?) 10. Brolly 2nd Coming happens just before the tournament even before when everyone heads off to the islannd to fight (Likely after Videl learns how to fly and Gohan is still in his Gi that matched the movie) 11. Bio Brolly happens just at the same time Buu is terrorizing the earth and just after Goku goes back to the otherworld when they say bye to him on the lookout (This means 18 tries to get her money and stuff) 12. Fuzion Reborn happens after skinny buu faces Piccolo and Gotenks and before Gohan becomes awakened (As Goku is still dead it has to be seen even before Vegeta gets his body back to fight buu again) and lastly 13. Wrath of the dragon takes place after the filler episode of Goku having a party and being late for it (Happens just before the time skip)

The Slug movie takes place after Namek, evidence by the fact that King Kai states Slug is stronger than Freeza. The reason why Goku's SSJ looks so weird is because the movie finished production and released before Goku's transformation during the Namek saga, and the movie's producers weren't told how a SSJ is supposed to look, as to not ruin the surprise. Ergo the movie is just as unplaceable as Tree of Might.

To clarify a few things:
In the japanese original lord slug is stated to be stronger than Frieza which places it after namek
Krillin does not recognize Gohan in chapter 194
Goku states that Frieza died to the spirit bomb in Cooler's first movie
At the time Cooler's second movie, Piccolo had just met Cell in ginger town in the manga meaning this is the first time Dende was ever shown as earth's guardian.
To be honest, I thought “Revenge of cooler” was right after the frieza arc.
But I remember as a kid when I saw the cell saga, I was a bit confused because I still needed that Goku was up in space before he arrived.
It always felt like the movies were done by creatives who only ever had part of Toriyama's vision.
Dead Zone done as a Dragon Ball sequel without them knowing that Z would be coming or that Krillin wouldn't be informed on Goku having a kid.
Movies 2-5 feel like they were made under a basic concept of "Hey, eventually they will defeat Frieza, go back to Earth and bring their friends back, right?" only without the knowledge of Goku becoming a Super Saiyan or at least, being able to master it and control it at will. You can easily see films 2-5 occurring in a post-Frieza, post-everyone back to life as long as you kind of assume that Goku was not able to easily unlock Super Saiyan. That way over the course of Movie 4 and 5 he sort of "re-ignites" his ability to reach it.
Movie 6 and 7 again feels like they were under the impression that "these androids will be taken out, and when it is all over Goku, Vegeta and Trunks will be the only super saiyans and Dende will be the new Guardian"...only without the knowledge that the arc would expand into "beyond super saiyan" and involve Gohan reaching Super Saiyan and aging up a year without any reasonable gap between arcs. If Goku, Vegeta and Fused Piccolo defeated the androids....then movie 6 and 7 would be "Post" that outcome.
Movie 8 kind of feels made with the assumption that Cell would be defeated without any major casualties, or with all it being fixed with Dragon Balls. Only without them knowing that Gohan would reach SS2 and that Goku would opt to stay dead.
Movie 9 pretty much basically fits.
Movie 10-12 again...sort of just feel like they assumed the end of the "Current arc" would be coming a lot sooner than it did with a lot less changes in the status quo, or without them being informed of certain things.
IF you assume that the tournament arc would just be a tournament arc and then trigger another "break" in action, it is easy to see how Movie 10 and 11 could slide into a hypothetical point "after" that
If you assume that either Gotenks or SS3 Goku would defeat Fat Buu after Vegeta's death you can sort of slide Movie 12 in after that.
Movie 13, if it didn't have the weird link of Trunks' sword that makes zero sense, can easily be a Post-Buu story.
Remember canon means official continuity. DBZ has 3 main canons
Original canon (toriyama) -manga/dbs manga/jaco/dr slump manga
Main canon-dr slump /ball/z/GT animes ANDmovies 1/5/9/13
Modern canon : Kai/dbs
I'd say some of these movies are just what if events: like, if none of the Z-Fighters died to the Saiyan Invasion, if Androids 17 and 18 were defeated by the Z-Fighters, if Cell was defeated by Goku or Vegeta during their first encounter, and if Buu was destroyed by Vegeta's Final Explosion.
DB Super was such a huge letdown, I never thought I'd be skipping through episodes to just get it over with on a dragon ball series. But it did make me go back and watch GT and I was much more satisfied with GT than I was super.
The biggest thing for me is that Super wasn't hand drawn. GT has incredible animation going for it, that's for sure. I like some elements of Super, including how much funnier it is than Z, but yeah. Letdown is a good word

Dead zone takes place after raditz saga because krillin clearly knew who gohan was in the movie, it takes place in a reality where goku and piccolo kills raditz without goku dying.
Well the goal here was to simply be able to place it or not. Alternate reality arguments make every movie fit. It is a detail that I missed, though. Krillin's oversight is the only plausibility keeping Dead Zone from being debunked. They never have a discussion about who Gohan is, but it's a stretch, to say the least
If we ignore the fact that krillin knew who gohan was we can clearly fit dead zone before raditz saga.
I feel the movies are a different timeline within itself they have some things similar to the main story but I do believe it to be a different timeline

I think what you pointed out with Cooler's Revenge makes sense. It must take place during the time skip after Trunks warns everyone about the Androids, but before the Androids actually show up.
I think that it makes sense to say that The Return of Cooler has a placement also in those 3 years. Your argument was that Vegeta was a super saiyan and Goku has the heart disease. While that is a good argument to me, I feel like the bigger deal is the absence of Trunks in that movie. Your placement of before everyone goes into the hyperbolic time chamber makes sense, except for the fact that Trunks wasn't in the movie at all. I think that is more of a contradiction than just saying that it was during the same time skip while everyone is training, just towards the end giving Vegeta enough time to become a super saiyan, but before Trunks comes back again from the future.
I can't remember if I considered Trunks' absence in my original analysis of The Return of Cooler, but as I mentioned, my chances of missing something were pretty good. The only issue with it being before the androids is that Goku isn't surprised or asking questions about Vegeta being super saiyan, since he first reveals it during Android 19. On top of that, he had just gotten back to Earth for that fight, so they'd have to be on New Namek INSTEAD of fighting 19 & 20, and Goku would (in theory) be having heart issues. Personally I think it just lines up better to assume Trunks didn't go with, but the argument works a bit in your favor because the movie came out only two weeks after Vegeta's first transformation in the series. Because of Trunks' absence, it could fall anywhere during the android saga, but the only time they'd have a chance is during the 10 days before Cell.

TwinBlasters Yeah, there are so many ridiculous inconsistencies with the movies that it ends up becoming a pick your poison kind of deal when trying to choose how to place movies in the time line. Like even the android 13 movie you talked about makes sense kind of, but then I feel it falls apart when I remember Piccolo being in the movie and fighting android 13, and losing that fight. So if that was after him fusing with Kami (since Goku was still sick) but before Cell games, then that would mean android 13 was stronger than 17 or 18, considering how Piccolo absolutely wrecked them but lost to Cell. Seems like a flaw though that there would be androids that strong, but I mean hey, I guess 16 exists in canon so why not?

I know this is old as hell but I’ve been thinking about this a long time did you catch in the return of cooler that dende was guardian while gohan was still young check out the beginning of the movie gohan was out of the hyperbolic time chamber by the time dende became guardian of earth
I admit I have mixed trust of the costumes as fully lockout markers. I know it is often used , but it seems a bit overused and one that could be considered to be not neccsarily a lockout. In fact the cooler movie shows this because they use both costumes in that sequence you showed. Of course tbh, a real difficulty with some of these events is that we dont have perfect information on the difference between the sagas themselves only estimations. Their could be periods of days between the sagas or simialar that we dont notice with some of them while others as we know are more directily connected(but other may be a mix in between even if they seem directly connected)
The movies are pretty much alternate outcomes of the original timeline for example fusion reborn is in an alternate version where gotenks or gohan defeated buu so neither goku or vegeta need to come back to life to fuse into vegito so there for the movie would make sense

Maybe the movies when Goku doesn’t become a supersaiyan can be explained because he forgot how to transform (after all he only became one because Frieda killed krillin, all the namekians and all the saiyans), Goku maybe needed time to control that transformation (also it would imply that he came to earth for a time before trunks)
vegeta learned to become one before the androids come to earth so maybe we can put that movie after that (we can ignore everyone’s surprise with vegeta being a supersaiyan)
When talking to trunks right after arriving to earth goku said at first it was hard to control but then he got it down. He was referring to the point in time when he was on yardrat so this would mean it would be unlikely that he forgot how to do it.
I accepted that this is a different timeline were thinks evolve different then the usual z super timeline

World's Strongest can fit in a timeline where Goku arrives on time and the Z fighters defeat the Saiyans, no one dies except Nappa.

I'm sorry to say I'm not nearly the Naruto expert that I am when it comes to DBZ. I only saw about 200 episodes of Shippuden, and I don't believe I've seen the movies

wrath of dragon fits...you can kinda fit the first broly and bojack...maybe garlic jr. if we cut out the fact kururrin has no idea who gohan is in z...the rest make no sense besides history of trunks and bardock until battle of gods...
The movies are B story line. I theorize it is possible to make an alternative universe where the movies are the main cannon.
