- I cover what I believe to be the 3 "pillars" of Modern Soccer with 2014 WC Prizm / 2017 Topps Chrome / 2015 Flawless as the key sets. Plus, my overall thoughts on where we are at, and going.

While these sets are the core sets for the soccer hobby - there are so much more sets that are never mentioned such as the 2015 donruss or select, 2016 euro, 2018 WC - mbappe rookie - we should start discussing these as well
I agree! Theres plenty of other sets the deserve attention. Couple personal favorites in what you listed. I havnt actually seen much of the thesis for 2015 Donruss? I like the duel autos from that set (bale/cr7) is a wild one. What you like about the set and what will help it age well with time? Would really appreciate a answer to learn more! @@f1sker_karma as always with donruss, you get a LOT of base which I like (unpopular opinion I know), a lot of legends of the game that are not on the 2014 prizm (Zlatan, Berbatov, Arshvin etc.) and it has the best signature set to date IMO - the beautiful game.
2018 treble is the set I travel the US to chase, no other set 🙅♂️

As a NASCAR card collector, I see so many similarities to what u are talking about. I respect all my non big 3 card collectors. I know they have to deal with the same nonsense that we do. Much respect to all the soccer collectors

Both sets have CR7 cards that just slap hard. Portugal or Real Madrid take your pick. GL on it, and thanks for the watch.

Overprinting is a big issue that can be fun in terms of collecting and not investing. Anyone all over the world can have an RC of the best player in the future...because of overprinting today.
Fanatics has no clue what they are doing as far as creating a collectables market. Its only magnified by their rampant supply. Volume can offset supply, but Fanatics have 0 plans to do anything to attempt that besides general market cycles/sentiment/rookies doing their thing. It feels okay to me if everyone who wants a base....can get a base for a low low price if they want it. However, at what point should something be "special"? Since Fanatics, this bar has gone lower for Modern. Ive got a lot of thoughts on this. Thanks for watching

Thanks for the video. I don’t want to discourage you in any way, but suggest being careful of the cards you flash as comps. That 2017 Modric was shilled (but was paid for apparently), and that Jerry Rice had one bid. eBay comps aren’t 100% reliable. Keep going!
This is a great comment/take. I agree, and good to point out! A lot of those reds were shilled and that whole red saga went terribly when that big wave got listed. Didnt like to see that at all. Fully onboard with eBay comps never being reliable. Worst of all places to look for numbers. 130point/sellthepeak for better accuracy. Caught my laziness on the Jerry! Often the case here in the US. Certainly exceptions, but at least now, as a casual collector. Its disappointing. Card shows put 0 care into making sure theres variety. Appreciate the comment and watch through 🤜🤛
You need flippers in soccer cards. It makes cards liquid and infuses money into the market.
100% true. Blurred lines for many people between "investor and collector." Some fall more to one side. Flippers follow money and price action. Soccer has little history of price action for ppl to be excited about. We'll see how things develop. Thanks for watching!
what to do, people thinks cards will be worth a hundred of thounsds but they dont know its not only player, its also count. Messi megacracks low count of messi, now lamine yamal megacracks is high count XDDD we have to wait for folks go out of hobby and wait for next huge name in football who will be not high graded
i think two of these iconics sets are so overrated, also we have to put another ultra ultra modern era, actually is crazy the amount of nonsense cards that are going into the market by topps or panini
Hahah I v much agree, its getting pretty messy with the new released stuff. Not a fan of it only to getting more ridiculous from these 2 companies. I actually am super interested to hear more detail though. 0 problem to think that 2 of these may be undeserving! Would love to hear which 2 and why? Any and all opinions welcome here. No bad takes.
