At 12, I wasn't impressed with TWW, but the episode that Mom caught me crying for the first time was *"In Excelsis Deo".* A homeless Korean war vet who froze in Toby's donated coat with his card accidentally left in a pocket. Extraordinary episode, and I was hooked. Party affiliation wasn't important. These characters LOVED this country. Please VOTE.

How we miss The West Wing. Have worn out two DVD sets over the years. Absolute elegance in writing, production, performing. And now that decades passed since the last episode, we know the entire cast apparently had the same love/respect for one another. Aspiring, uplifting, hopeful. Truly a work all involved in the making will be proud of always. So wish John Spencer could have lived to see completed the extraordinary art he helped produce.

It is so bad that they even crucify other members of the Democratic Party who are not “woke enough”. It’s actually quite embarrassing for this country. Ever since Trump won the election, it has been a nonstop temper tantrum. There are so many examples to point to, but the worst one was an impeachment hearing based on complete and utter fabrications. Not to mention the “peaceful protestors” that are destroying people’s lives because they want a reason to be destructive. The country is about to answer back in a big way.

I have episodes memorised... 😏 I love that CJ has Gail in that shoot 🐟 dear EW, you are *so* making me want to do a re-watch for the millionth time. I watched TWW at an unearthly hour of the morning in England as a teenager, cos that’s when it was on to begin with. As it gained popularity & acclaim, it got a better time slot. It formed how I think about a lot of things; it actually gave me unrealistic expectations of people I think actually, these people always had good intentions, they were kind to each other & others, they were forgiving. Whenever I lose my faith in humanity, I watch The West Wing, I love how Aaron didn’t demonise the other side, there is a lot to be said for that. It taught me that if you care about something, you speak up, you learn to debate intelligently. Oh & it taught me everything I knew then about American politics. Decisions are made by those who show up America, please vote!

This show sits with me in a way no other show that I’ve loved has done. Maybe it’s because I have always loved politics. Maybe it’s because Aaron Sorkin writes witty repartee in a way no one else can, lines worth memorizing and occasionally randomly exchanging with my best friend who is also an embarrassingly obsessed fan. Maybe it’s because the cast was composed of some of the most committed, talented actors ever. And, maybe it’s because for all its characters’ flaws, it embodies the best of America: idealism, aspiration, hard work, self-deprecation, and a fervently earnest belief in the good of us. It is odd to be nostalgic for a fictional time when the possibility that a president bailing out a computer chip maker was off-limits for even the APPEARANCE of impropriety. *sigh*

So great to see these beloved folks from what was surely one of the best TV series of all time. Delighted to see Bradley's beard is even whiter than mine (and it looks well on him); and good heavens, the ladies somehow have become more lovely and charming as the years have passed. That's really not fair at all.

If they bring it back, my hope is that they would do some kind of game changer. I Staunchly advocate that the premise of the sequel series be the election of a third-party president for the first time since Lincoln. I think it would be worth it to see how the system as we know it would respond to a party not of the establishment making the scene. And also a unique challenge that could warrant bringing Toby and the gang back together.
