- Who wants some jazzy, jazzy music? Well if not, YOU ARE GETTING IT ANYWAYS! Ahh Armored Armadillo's stage... (totally should be armoured), definitely my favourite in the game due to being rather high speed, and having my favourite song from the game! Albeit I cannot say I am a fan of having to off myself repeatedly to get the super secret weapon stored here, but more on that later! The stage itself is pretty easy, and a REALLY good place for farming for energy if your sub-tanks need a refill.
The boss himself is a HUGE pain if you decide to fight him without his weakness as he is rarely vulnerable. Even times you think he will be vulnerable, he just blocks your shots! He has a variety of attacks, but his only dangerous one is his bouncing around the room like a maniac. Just give him one shot of Spark's weapon to deal with his ability to block your shots... heck he can even block the game's one-hit kill weapon, what a pest! Ah well, with him down, all the mavericks are dealt with.

The boss is a little bit tough with no x armor or heart tanks but it was still do-able for me.
Hey don't undermine the Rolling Shield! It's actually a very good weapon, since it deals quite a bit of damage, eats most projectiles in both forms, and you can spam it up close! Shield also eats through small enemies like nothing
And it’s also The weakness of Sigma’s final boss form.

Look really closely at the stage's ceiling at about 0:32. There's an enemy from the Classic Mega Man game, the "Battaton" or "Bubble Bat", and it's the only one to show up in the entire X series.
Mudkip the Mud Fish Pokemon There's actually a trick/ easter egg where that enemy always gives a lot of health whenever you kill it, and it continues to do so after respawning.
Skretch Gives an extra life, making that hadouken 10 million times easier to get
sadly, the classic enemy that still thrives to this day was the mettal.
What about the met? the X Series changed its name to mettaur.

I dunno, I just find Electric Spark only useful fully charged. state. And Rolling Shield has one VERY important purpose, and that is not being Launch Octopus's weakness (As far as I know)
and i thought i was the only one who loved this stage because of the music and how its made!!! this is also my favorite stage in the game as well.
Everyone loves Armoured Armadillo's stage and music.
...Except maybe Roahm.

Bio: Armored Armadillo boasts amazing defenses, allowing him to bowl right over enemies and obstacles with impurity. He is also equipped with a beam cannon concealed within his forehead for long-ranged fighting. However, Armadillo is so stubbornly loyal, he feels he would be disobeying Sigma if he doesn't follow him in his rebellion. As much of his offensive capability is powered by special energy crystals, Armadillo took over a mine to keep his supply coming.

It's a bit cheeky to call it a no hit run, then cheap the game by abusing the invinciblity weapon.
Three things about this stage
You can actually slip past the second grinder saw machine if you cling to the right ledge above it and keep holding right.
The long stretches of enemies make it great for grinding your sub tanks.
When I do a buster boss run, the one exception I make is I do destroy Armored Armadillo’s shield with Electric Spark before switching back to the Buster, I’ve beat him with the shield before and it’s just really annoying as your best bet is to keep waiting until right after his rolling attack is done.
Entire stage is rollercoaster. Theme fits well!

Armored Armadillo is easy to beat it with X Buster. Yep....He was the first stage to start before Chill Penguin. Did you know I got both the Tanks like the Sub and Heart without the armor and weapons? Pretty neat, huh?
There is 1 thing you 4got to mention about this stage. There's 1 bat at the beginning that looks bigger than all the other bats. A baton-ton or baton-bon is what I think it's called. Over 90% of the time, if you kill it, it will drop a 1UP.

Rolling Shield can help your Hadouken hunt, or just some sub tank/extra lives farming.
I love the help message at the bottom of the screen, with your avatar. It's so lovely, cute, nice to see, and especially an awesome idea ! I'll also try to use this idea in my videos, but ...find differents face from the same character in the same position, for the avatar, is so hard...

If you want a broken weapon. That's the one for sure. 1 hit kill any boss/monster in game
If you dont know how to get it, im pretty sure you die 5 times in Armored
armadillo's stage and its at the very end ontop the boss door(where you got the last HP thing @ 1:54)

Is it me or he's a lot harder in Mega Man X Collections from PC compare to the original SNES version.
@PinkKittyRose you know the invincibility? does it work on spikes? just wonderin since i never even knew about that ability till this playthrough

I feel like they copied from the mine cart chase from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom for this stage.

@legionofpie Launch is not too bad to buster only! Just take the rather defensive style I demonstrated in my run of it (months ago)... XD Just have to watch out for the quad homing missile attack.
Sigma 1's definitely a pain due to that vertical shaft... The game even forces you to have the buster upgrade by then so every player will be able to cheese it with Chameleon Sting if they want... it seems expected! XD The bosses are easier than that one section, amusingly.

Armored Armadillo is one cruel maverick.
Pardon Pink, but Armoured Armadillo is everything BUT a huge pain buster only. Yeah, he blocks your shots, but every time he does so he stops attacking. If you simply rapidfire his hide he can't do anything but roll around occasionally! Shucks, I even find him easier without the buster because he can barely attack and he'll still take plenty of damage if you just pound through his defenses with sheer machine-gun-style-firepower.

@legionofpie A little bit, but it does make for a more silly, fun result overall. XD The game gave me the weapon, so I make use of it! That said, if I cared more about the game overall I may of gone the route of avoiding the most broken weapons and doing buster only fights for the most part.

Not sure if you new this,you can get a hadoken in this secret that one shots bosses.
All power ups,/sub tanks/hearts,armor/ die 10times after gathering the energy on the mountain.thats where the capsules will appear on the 10th time.
You can only use it at full health. Half circle forward attack
That’s Web Spider stage in the background at the end of this level (green foliage, waterfalls)
@warriorxero Look up HideOfBeast. He's done X1-3 Buster Only, No Damage, and DASHLESS. He also did X4-6 Buster Only on Hard Mode.
He uses charge shots, but it's still breathtakingly amazing.
alright, MMX isn't my childhood memories, but recently I figured 1 thing for any1 who want to beat him with X-buster only
Never ever charge shot him. not only he will counterattack in some circumstance, but he also take 1 dmg, yeah, the same dmg as lemon shot.
@Kevvl14 I was mostly going off of memory of like... years ago for that bit of commentary. XD Have never actually tried developing a strategy for fighting him buster only cause y'know... screw dealing with mavericks that block shots...! No need to make the boss fight drag out longer than Sigma's...! XD

@warriorxero I've come close do doing buster-only no-hit runs myself; the only parts of the Maverick stages that pose any problem are Sting Chamelion's and Launch Octopus' boss fights and the miniboss in Spark Mandrill's stage. Armored Armadillo's fight is just a patience thing (I'd have no problem with her busting the armor, then killing him), and the rest are pretty much jokes.
As for Sigma Lvl 1, I totally agree. That level is insane to do a no-damage run of without using master weapons.
I was having a go at this game today and let him go into the pattern because you can play the left wall as soon as you pick it up and then play a game of cat and mouse... Takes forever though. x.x

If you’re having trouble with this boss, I think you can use Boomerang Cutter to cut the armour off

This guy took me forever... i didn't even beat him with his weakness since i hadn't destroyed spark mandrill at the moment, heck I didn't even know about weaknesses when I beat him xD
I used the shotgun ice and the sting to deal damage (since i didn't know about the dash glitch thingy until i watched these) and learned everything he could do... took me forever
He was my first Boss and really easy to take down, u have to jump and stay in the middle of the wall near the gate left like the whole battle, cause there he cant get u, if he got ground under his feet u get down quickly and shoot him up, thats it
i always start with this boss, killing him without any upgrades weapons, with only 1 heart from his level is the most satisfying thing ever, plus starting with chill penguin all the time gets old and boring
Aww, you didn't go for the insanely overpowered reference weapon of mass genocide?
It's not that hard to beat him with his armor on. Also, you can memorize his rolling attacks so it's not really that hard. But it is time consuming without his weakness.
I thought I was the only one that tried to match the cursor sfx with the stage select theme.
