I had no idea this collab existed! I would buy the entire album of the two of them singing together (and I never buy albums). Lemme just add that The Band is a huge part of this rendition, not a missing sound. Not an unnecessary note. I could listen to that band all day. ♡
Yes. Mutual respect was on full and open display. The way they both work so in tune so well together to put together a very tender rendition of this, my favorite SC jam. Downloaded and saved for posterity. ❤
The sensitivity of each of these fabulous artists towards one another's vocal qualities gets me every time...they actually have such differences in tone and texture individually (Sheryl is weighty and rich in her lower register, then has this fabulous "float" in the upper; and her transition is an effortless "country" yodel...Stevie, at 63, has deepened that smokey contralto that's been waiting in the wings - but can still use her upper with her sooo distinct "fracture" transition to hop on top of Sheryl twice...but they're SO ATTENTIVE to finding and hitting their sweet spot together ❤...you hear Stevie modulating her voice to avoid one of her other characteristics - "overdriving" into her sinus space - and staying in her chest resonance, and the magic happens...Sheryl moves in with more "fry" than is usual, and that's THE most skilful understanding going on between them - that's their "sweet spot" and gives me tingles 😂❤. Stevie is an elder stateswoman - she watches like a hawk and neeever lets it be anyone's song but SC's. Such an honouring of their art ...aaargh i've banged on about it because it's SO stunning 😂. They're both so tuned in it's really spontaneous - incredibly skilful. AND it makes me cry 😂 Every Single Time ❤❤❤❤
Stevie is one of the greatest harmony singers EVER. She started out as a harmony singer and learned to lead solo out of necessity. But there’s a reason why she sings with so many other big artists - her voice is textured to fit against anyone. She has some great pipes
That was a great comment. Originally Stevie introduced the song by saying she saw Sheryl on VH1 and was profoundly moved by how hard it was to be a woman in their artistic kind of career on the road and all that comes with it trying to trust when a potentially good man comes along. Miss that intro and love your insight re: mentor as well as friend.
Wow. This is so insanely good. I’m not a huge Stevie Nicks fan but there’s no denying her talent of being able to harmonize with… well, everyone. As a fan of this song since it came out (I was 8), I enjoyed this version much more than I expected to.
Which explains why Stop Dragging my heart around was down to Tom Petty and why she sounded so awful singing solo live on .... some late night talk show when I was young. Don't get me wrong; she is one of the best singer songwriters in her genre and I love her. But she is just that: the best harmonist out there. Forever.
good point. my sis had an album put out on the same label as Annie Lennox who phoned her and she almost had a heart attack. I love my sis Colette Baron-Reid, Magdelene's Garden who didn't tour because she wanted to stay sober and I think of her when I watch these wonderful women. Always.
me too I love this so much. Sheryl Crow does help you get through dark times it is odd she is such a happy singer and I remember her songs from only happy times in my childhood yet I listen to her when I'm awfully sad

Sweet Music! Anbody who loves music to their CORE, know full well, it is a craft ,as are humans and all creation from our loving and benevolent Maker Jehovah!
@@pauljordan4452 Well, no. That's not what I meant. I meant the lyrics are like something Stevie should be singing considering her past with relationships.
I come back to this video because my sister travels a lot and we are all that is left of our family (Colette was definitely Scout in To Kill a Mocking Bird … how did they know she'd be born down the line?) Such a gift two brilliant women in harmony and honesty.
I love my sis who is a musician and travels a lot and every time she's off somewhere I watch this video; wonderful testimony to mentorship and friendship and probably left out another -ship wonderful song.
The eternal curmudgeon here; stevie in this very performance was originally recorded as introducing the song and it was vr moving. now it's gone. I love those 2 women.
And here I am.. thinking that I'm listening to good music, a brilliant song and really excellent singers.. I had no idea that it was all a plot by the CIA and some super Jews!! :-O Hahahaha @Wayne Manzo!! I'm on the floor laughing!! You're too funny!! :D .. or.. too twisted :/
I have mixed feelings about this version. I like Sheryl crow's original and I like Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac's music as well. But this gives me strong "South Park" vibes that I don't get from any other songs at all.

What humble grace this duet. Stevie is such a lady- never once took on the lead. May we all have creative company like this. Brava ladies!!

I saw the original uncut performance and always saddened when we're left with snippets; Stevie's intro was golden.

so so true!
totally!!!!
She sure can sing really fantastic.
Is it just me or is it like Stevie is a loving Mom telling Sheryl what she deserves. Both so genuine

I think Stevie looks younger than Sheryl. I love them both.
I liked singing this in 1995 because I enjoyed singing. Now, in my 30s, it hits home what Sheryl wrote this about.

stunningly good
stevie has got to be one of the finest harmonists out there

She’s an angel
Probably one of my most favorite duets ever!
Agreed.
Watch and listen to "Insider" Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks on RUclips. And watch her watching him. Amazing duet.

After all this time one thing sustains me; the value of friendship.
Wow, what a duet!!!
That magical moment...!
Think of Sheryl a kid listening to Rumors dreaming of a moment like this
good point. my sis had an album put out on the same label as Annie Lennox who phoned her and she almost had a heart attack. I love my sis Colette Baron-Reid, Magdelene's Garden who didn't tour because she wanted to stay sober and I think of her when I watch these wonderful women. Always.
Wow... that’s so epic to think of! Inspiring!
She was 15 when it was released. Sort of like singing with your hero.
This got me through a dark place thanks

Everybody wants to sing with Sheryl.
2 of my top favorite female singers ever and they are gliorious together - so beautiful. They are very simpatico.
They sound so good together.
I love that Stevie takes a lower harmony, I almost feel like her thread is the melody and Sheryl is singing the harmony.
fantastiche
OMG!! ❤it!! I always wondered why they didn't sing together! They BOTH have the most amazing & unique voices!!❤🎉
Two intoxicatingly sweet young women. I get such a rush watching and hearing them perform together. Pretty song, too.

I aspire to be this strong! Thank you for this ❤
I love this song
Tanta calidad en la música del pasado y tan poca clase en la música actual, por eso ellas perdurarán para siempre y los de hoy serán olvidados.
Amazing duet by two beautiful women
That is a pretty cool version. Like it a lot.
This is something special.
sheryl crow stevie nicks are so amazing
I was loving Stevie from Fleetwood Mac.

Happy 60th birthday to Sheryl Crow you have been strong enough to face a lot you found your way on the winding road
Omg u ladies hit it on the head great song 🎶
This is truly a gem of a video.
OMG I love these guys
Sheryl Crow had to have channeled Stevie Nicks in this song. This song is the perfect song for Stevie.
Vocally, not really.

Thing about Stevie is she’s willing to take on any love song!
Wonderful!

Is this Evelyn Baron from Gemstone Tarot’s page? Hi! Nice to meet you here. 😊💕
Sheryl Crow at this point is classic rock.
LADY
Voce velata
di sensualità,
regina indiscussa
del rock più sfumato,
di crepuscolari
malinconie...
Cos’hai di speciale
io non lo so dire,
ma d’aura fatata
vai ammantata
Angelo d’oro
velato di nero,
dea d’una notte
al chiaro di luna...
A Stevie Nicks

One of my missions in life is to meet stevie nicks.
Pretty obvious that Sheryl Crow is digging the heck out of
singing this song with Stevie Nicks
Toller Song.. :-)
Lovely
Super super
I wonder why this performance isn't on Stevie's or Sheryl's official RUclips channel?
If a man is strong he will not lie and if a woman is strong she doesn't want anyone to lie to her.
From the has been tour.
The whole is greater than the sum of the parts, Mija....
The eternal curmudgeon here; stevie in this very performance was originally recorded as introducing the song and it was vr moving. now it's gone. I love those 2 women.
powerfull strong woman.... wold be nice to be strong enought for there....
😍😍😍😍😍😍
❤❤🎵🎵🎶✨️
5'2 Sheryl and 5'1 Stevie perfect match vocal
Please dont leave cmeo
I dont care no mores 💯🐺 no more i cant take it
Why is this the ONLY video of this performance?! I have scoured the internet. Does anyone know when, where, etc. this was taped?
It’s from the VH1 show “Storytellers.” It aired 21 Aug 1998
Lie to me, I promise I’ll believe
Lie to me, but please don’t leave
These two go together like oil and water with this song! It should only be sung by Crow!
what is stevie holding?
What year is that ?
When i was a teen, i couldn't understand the effect rock stars had on girls. OKAY, I get it now. lol
Where is the beginning? What they say before they start singing it's gone off almost all of these, WHY???? :/ :( Ughhh!!!!!
I'm strong enough to be your man, Mija....
Wayne Manzo = what a prick. Lol. This collaboration is pure brilliance.

sorry hun....anyone, man or woman can be a jerk. Happens to the best of us, just know, you can always rely on 1 person, yourself. Take care.
Im strong enougth to be your man...

And you f**ked with the video and cut out what Stevie said in the beginning :P
